Big Hero 6 was just confirmed for Kingdom Hearts 3 at D23 Expo. Taking place after the events of the film, Sora and friends will go on grand adventures with Hiro and Baymax who, along with their companions, have been recognized as an official superhero team. Sora will even be able to ride Baymax!
Roy Conli, producer of Big Hero 6, announces the world in a special trailer:
Darkness will manipulate the body of the old Baymax left behind in the portal in the film, as depicted in the concept art shared at the panel, drawn by series artists.

Color me shocked, I thought for sure it would be Frozen. This probably means a couple of worlds will be announced at D23 and Tokyo Game Show I'm assuming.

I'm so hyped for this choice though. You know if they're gonna collaborate with this guy and use his movies then Treasure Planet is a very good possibility.
This game is supposed to have twice as many worlds as Kingdom Hearts II so we're easily looking at 20+.

I am so happy about this reveal. BH6 was one my favorite Disney movies for a long time, and this is this was something I was dreaming for. I kinda found a connection to my inner Disney fan after a long time. I am also so glad that they are trying something new with the story, and it might be true what Nomura said on the interview, about connecting KH themes to the Disney worlds. And that concept art. I can imagine Sora flying high in the air, fighting the heartless and the new Org XIII. Also somebidy speculated that the empty body of Baymax could be vessel candidate for Xehanort.

Why not go 3 for 3 and announce Treasure Planet, another movie this guy directed?
I'm thinking another world will be announced at TGS next month prob w/ trailer and in November we'll get the release date and another world revealed.

I would say moreso the first game followed an original storyline whereas the second one garnered inspiration from the movie canon. At least the first visit did.

I think it's definitely plausible we will see Treasure Planet because it seems this guy already has 2 of his 3 movies in the game.

The closest to such a statement I found was Nomura saying that currently the selected worlds was more than KH2, but he noted that many might be cut by the time the game releases for various reasons. That's a far cry from a hard confirmation that there will be twice as many worlds when the game ships (which, as a reminder, would mean like over 30 worlds, which is an insane workload for a next-gen game, likely meaning the quality of each world would suffer).

BTW King Mickey and the Keyblade confirmed for Disney Infinity. Which likely means by 4.0 Sora will probably be in it. King Mickey is a skin given to D23 attendees and the Keyblade is the reward for unlocking all the characters and collecting them.
I'm hoping that if they do Treasure Planet they can also do POTC 2 and 3 in a combined world. I wouldn't mind Neverland not appearing if it meant we got at least 2 pirate themed worlds.

I know that I am! I watched the actual scene from the movie, and then went ahead and listened to the whole song after that.
OMG. Wouldn't it be so cool if Yoko Shimomura could do a rendition of that for the world, but... I'm getting way ahead of myself here, and it probably won't happen at all (as they'd have to get Fallout Boy's permission for that). It'd be sweet, though. It would make a great battle theme, too, I think.
Also, that concept art is just gorgeous. I know we're not seeing much of Sanfransokyo here, but I'm all ready sold on it!

I've only seen bits and pieces of Big Hero 6 but I'm still pretty excited for it, and it's way better than any Marvel world. The thought of riding Baymax makes me wonder how big the world is going to be. And I'm really glad it's going to have an original story (and that Disney writes are actually helping Square do it).
I just hoped for just for a summon similiar to Chicken Little, in my opinion Big Hero 6 was really bad and mostly stupid. But I guess with Mickey, Donald, Goofy: The Three Musketeers used in DDD the bar was set really low.
Oh man, it just hit me that BH6 beat the Incredibles to the punch. Now I'm bummed again.
It`s gonna be amazing! Imagine riding on Baymax`s back on the skies of the massive city, and then the corrupted Baymax ambushes you with a new Org XIII member on its back. All the music Shimomura is going to make.

I am so excited about this new reveal! All the unlimited possibilities! We can travel into the Lucky Cat cafe! Hiro's room! and SFIT! Meeting the superhero team! Fred's Mansion! Sora getting a new suit Hiro made! Baymax being a healer in the party! Baymax being one of Sora's summons! and MOCHI! and all the other stuffs!
Now this is a thing that I don't mind waiting for five years. SQENIX can take all the time they want if it means they can perfect the game even more.
and speaking of empty vessels, Tadashi's hat being possessed by darkness and became a wondering shadow taking the shape of Tadashi. Us having to defeat him as a mini boss. Just sayin'.

I like the original storyline taking place after the film. Reminds me of that thing a few days back that said that the world plots and the main plot would connect more with eachother.

I love that movie, and I'm really happy to see it included in KH3. The fact that it's supposed to take place after the movie instead of being a rehash of the movie's plot makes me optimistic! Fingers crossed that it doesn't disappoint!

I've never watched the film but haven't watched Tangled also so I'm curious. I do however hope the new worlds are not just from recent animated Disney films. I'd want more classics then anything. Although with that said I'd love a Toy Story world.

Not quite. Halloween Town in KH2 is implied to have happened after the film. You could also arguably point to recurring worlds in Days and BBS as well (Neverland in both games, Agrabah in Days), though those wouldn't be sequels so much as under-ambitious midquels and prequels.
This world has been the world I've wanted most in the game! I'm so excited, and it will work so perfectly for Kingdom Hearts. Big Hero 6 and Kingdom Hearts have a lot of similarities theme-wise and the world of San Fransokyo is going to be gorgeous!
Crossing my fingers that this means Treasure Planet has a high chance of being in Kingdom Hearts III. Besides Big Hero 6, I want to see a Treasure Planet world and a Wreck-It Ralph world (Set in Sugar Rush, please make this happen). I'd also be open to the idea of a Meet the Robinsons or Chicken Little world, even though they're my least favorite Disney movies of all time, but they do have some cool environments.
Great reveal. My jaw dropped when they said the dark being on the concept art was the original Baymax that got stuck in the portal dimension w/e it's called and that it takes place after the movie. Love it.
I'm also loving the involvement of the original creator (Disney in general seems really involved this time around), makes me very hopeful about the Disney worlds this time around.
I can't wait to see Sora and Hiro interact. If Hiro mentions Tadashi to Sora, it might remind Sora of his brotherly bond with Riku

I think TGS might give us some new gameplay, but honestly, I think TGS will be more focused on FF XV. I'm not keeping my hopes up. Jump Festa is a bigger contender for new KH info.

This is a happy surprise. :) I was expecting Frozen to be announced next which I'm sure is being saved for Japan's D23 Expo later this year but still BH6 being in KH3 is so awesome. :D I can't wait to see how the characters will get to interact. lol
Oh hot damn, BH6 is an amazing world to include! What gets me most excited though is how closely Roy seems to be working with the game, meaning the world has potential to be even better than before!

No kidding black! I'm excited anyway. I always said, "The only Marvel I'll stand in KH is Big Hero 6" and it's come true. I will have to ask my sister in law if I can borrow the movie!

SE already said that they're mostly just touching up the visuals now. I don't think it's completely out of the question that it'll be done by next year.

That is not what they said at all, lol. Last they talked about it they said that the foundation and plans for what would be included has all been set, meaning now was the actual mass-production of assets which will take a considerable amount of time, with some things being very close to being finished while other things still being just out of the planning phase. There's still a long way to go.

I'm super excited for this world. Of my wished for worlds, this one was high up on the list. I never had much hope for Tangled or Big Hero 6 to make it in, and yet here they are being announced back to back. And funnily enough my most wanted world, Frozen, which everyone agrees is a shoo-in, hasn't been confirmed yet. Hoping for a D23 Japan announcement for that one, though.
Also, this makes me VERY optimistic for Treasure Planet being a world in KH3. Roy said back in the E3 announcement video that Tangled was the "first of a series" of movies he directed to be in KH3. He directed Hunchback, but that was already in DDD. And then he directed Tangled, Big Hero 6, and Treasure Planet. We now have Tangled and Big Hero 6 confirmed. Only one left is Treasure Planet. Here's to hoping!

Honestly, if Frozen IS in KH3, I think the reveal of that world would be a best-for-last kind of thing. That is the film they get questioned about the most.

From the concept art I guess it confirms Baymax will be a party member. I hope the rest of the team will be assist NPCs though.

Plus, since they're essentially making a sequel to the movie with the game's world, they can make it REALLY plot-relevant since they can literally do anything they want with the story and not have to worry about it following the film's script at all.
Well there's one of my predictions confirmed. I am so happy to see Big Hero 6 make it into KH3 as this is one of my favorite recent Disney films. And I love how they are going with an original story for the world thus making me think the disney worlds and main plot will be connected more in KH3 than in past games. Really loving the direction KH3 is heading. Also Treasure Planet is another film worked on by "Master Xehanort" XD so i'm expecting that will be confirmed later on, with Frozen at some point too and most likely Toy Story.

Well "Tangled" and "Big Hero 6" together would technically make a series lol I'm not shocked either of them are in it and I fully expect Frozen to show up and possibly Wreck-It-Ralph. Tangled really jumpstarted Disney's resurgence in animation again (Princess and the Frog helped, but didn't bust them through since it received a tepid response and Tiana's merchandise isn't the most popular) and the CGI movies since Tangled are kind of the "new Disney" because of their visuals, so I wouldn't be shocked if all 4 appear, which is fine by me, all 4 are great films!

They said "the antagonist" corrupts him. I guess I'm assuming it's Xehanort, since the villain from Big Hero 6 won't be in the world, due to the events in the game occurring after the movie's villain is stopped.

TBH, that's a possible direction I was expecting should they decide to make an actual Big Hero 6 sequel. Original Baymax with the red chip revived and returned in some manner.

I would say it works both ways but I don't think Tangled was announced at E3 to promote the Tangled TV series which is a ways off. Likewise, Big Hero 7 is a long ways off so I don't think they really have any connection. By the time Big Hero 7 comes out, people won't be like "Oh wow! I just heard about this being a world in Kingdom Hearts" since it'll be at least 2 years from now.
Of course, announcing any world helps promote that movie and any movie in Kingdom Hearts can help promote KH, it works.

I am so excitebike for this. I was not expecting this to be one of the first world's announced, and the possible plots that could happen have me even more excited. I am so glad to see the worlds will be having original plots that can actually tie in to the actual game. They did it well with Halloween Town in KH1 and 2, and Olympus Coliseum in BbS (just to give a few examples), so I am so hyped. Makes me wonder if maybe Xehanort will also have something to do with the Titans being let out in OC and such.
Also maybe Tr3n will finally live on in KH3. Pls revive Tron SE. I'm still fully convinced Tron 2 happened because KH2 really popularized Tron again (even though there was a pretty hardcore fanbase even before KH2).

Welp, I still have yet to see Big Hero 6...and Tangled...and Wreck-It-Ralph...and - y'know what, I'm just gonna stop.
Anyways, I was super excited to hear about this, slowdown and all! This was literally the only way that I would accept anything even remotely associated with Marvel in Kingdom Hearts 3 and they delivered beautifully. I may have not seen the movie in its entirety, but I at least have read a sort of Cliff Notes version of it which really just means I looked it up on TV Tropes several months back. From what I can understand, the story lend itself well to the Kingdom Hearts series. The fact that they are actually FORGOING a copy-paste interpretation of the world as many have done in the past and creating something new as a sequel tale to the original is just...wow. It's freaking amazing!

I would consider this a HUGE step in the right direction. Sure it may not be Disney saying "we're giving you everything you ever wanted" but think about the progress it means. This is Disney OFFICIALLY INCLUDING Kingdom Hearts as a property in a game that includes all of their most popular franchises (many less popular Disney films have not made the cut yet and Kingdom Hearts has).
I mean, we have to remember that back in 2001 when Kingdom Hearts came out and failed to sell well in the Disney parks, Disney kind of discounted it as a property and let Square Enix handle it mostly but didn't really get involved. Now they are making their own limited edition merchandise annually (this year finally releasing a pin at their biggest pin event), allowing Kingdom Hearts at their biggest conventions (both in the US and JPN), allowing Kingdom Hearts events to be hosted on their property, AND now including Kingdom Hearts in their properties. This is HUGE! Now Kingdom Hearts is at the conventions, park events, in the park, and in their games. LET'S KEEP THE BALL ROLLING GUYS! Who knows what could be next?!?!? My dream is to get Kingdom Hearts a small piece in their parks...I don't care where, I just want a little bit of real Kingdom Hearts somewhere in my life.
Given how this was a Disney themed event to begin with, it would have been strange for them to focus on KH original worlds. Plus everyone was expecting a Disney world to be announced and it happened. Can you imagine if they had confirmed Daybreak Town instead? That wouldn't have gone over as well, nor generated the hype that the BH6 announcement has.
I would have totally liked a Star Wars or Marvel announcement better (comparatively). I'm only upset cause I was never a huge fan of Big Hero 6.

Big Hero 6 is most likely the closest we'll get to Marvel in KH3. And thank God, because I'm one of the people who does NOT want Star Wars or any of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in KH3. I'm not opposed to them being in the next saga after KH3, but leave them out of this game, please.
I'm all for this! I liked Big Hero 6 and the fact that they're doing a post-movie adventure is something I'm a big fan of. That said, I wish we could hear more. Maybe a release date or something (HA!)?

I kind of had an idea where Sora could find a magic comic book that he'd have to find the pages too like Hundred Acre Wood in previous games, and each page would be focused on a different member of the Avengers until they all come together for a battle in the last one. Maybe that could be the way to do it.
So glad BH6 is in! My worries of a potential Marvel mishap are at ease for the time. Plus it's an awesome movie and with an original plot for the game it can do nothing but benefit. Hero suits for SDG!! :D

No, Fred and Hiro are the only ones who we even heard their real names, they confirmed early on Fred gave every one stupid nicknames like Wasabi no Ginger. And even Fred goes by Fredzilla in superhero form so yeah :P

A lot of people on neogaf were saying the lack of trailer means this games still years out, but I don't think so just for this particular movie. There's no way they decided BH6 would be a world before the success of the movie and it just came out last November. So I imagine this world is one of the least developed so far, which is understandable.
Nomura and his team are allowed to watch new Disney movies before release in order to decide if the world would work in KH so no doubt they watched Big Hero 6 months before it's release.
Probably the same with Inside Out and maybe the Dinosaur movie.
Anyways, my fingers are crossed for a Battlebot minigame. And for the return of the Dive feature. Imagine diving into San Fransokyo or any other world and seamlessly landing and starting the world. Amazing.

Well I mean, I can't think of any other way for her to return fighting with her hair. Either she can no longer be in your party after you finish the world, her hair doesn't get cut off until the end credits of the game or when she fights after her hair is cut she just uses the frying pan.

Well, how he gives up his life for her in the movie is by cutting her hair so she can't heal him. If Rapunzel's hair hadn't been cut he would have lived, but it would have meant Rapunzel would have to go with Mother Gothel and never try to escape beacause of the agreement they made about her healing him. But yeah, I see what you are getting at. And there are probably ways to keep the long hair and a similar scene. SE just has to be creative enough to think of them. But it all depends on what they want to do. Guess we unfortunately won't find that out for a while, but it's fun to speculate.

They did make a point of mentioning more NPC's will join battles, and if there is any world to implement that, its the one where there are 6 characters who are completely viable at fighting lol.

Also, I went in thinking "What would work as a connecting point to Kingdom Hearts besides what was mentioned?" Well...Wall of Spoilers!
The sacrifice Baymax made, using his armor to save his friend from being trapped in another dimension but dooming himself to be instead. That sounds pretty much exactly what Aqua did for Terra at the end of BBS. Why do I now feel like what Sora does in San Fransokyo (or maybe even his reason for getting involved, what if he finds out about the portals!?) is going to result in finding how to or actually rescuing Aqua & Ansem?
But SDG are likely going to be traveling by Gummi ship. We will just probably get the gummi fights from KH1 and 2
God, I absolutely hate gummi missions. But even if the ship is in, they still beamed themselves down from the ship to the world. But now that you can go through a world without load screens, I would love for them to take advantage of that and let us dive into the world and immediately play.

I know that I am! I watched the actual scene from the movie, and then went ahead and listened to the whole song after that.
OMG. Wouldn't it be so cool if Yoko Shimomura could do a rendition of that for the world, but... I'm getting way ahead of myself here, and it probably won't happen at all (as they'd have to get Fallout Boy's permission for that). It'd be sweet, though. It would make a great battle theme, too, I think.
Also, that concept art is just gorgeous. I know we're not seeing much of Sanfransokyo here, but I'm all ready sold on it!
KHIII sure is shaping up to be an amazing game... and I can only hope we'll see that art revealed released in high quality very soon;)
So this is extra exciting to me. Fall out boy has been my favorite band for at least 10 years now and KH has been my favorite game series for longer. A fob song basically in KH? That's what dreams are made of for me. Fob is really good about stuff like this and I'm sure yoko would make a beautiful tech-y battle theme they couldn't say no to being used in game. They'd probably beg to make it themselves.

I definitely want a lot of new worlds, but those older worlds can really shine in the way that KH3 is. Imagine an open world version of Atlantica or Halloween Town or The Pride Lands, there's just so much that can be done with it. Also, I think that the returning worlds are definitely more iconic to the series and as DISNEY movies, they deserve to get a proper goodbye from the series.
This is why, in my opinion, KH3 should have had a decent amount of new worlds and more returning worlds - so that those older worlds can get an official goodbye from the series, especially considering it's the end of the Xehanort Saga as well. It'd be a perfect time to allude to future worlds (like Simba/Mushu in KH1) in KH3, but aside from that an overload of new worlds may not be the best way to go about it.
I get that a lot of the worlds have been used and abused and no longer any 'fun' like Wonderland and Agrabah, but I think that KH3 is the perfect time to really show what can be done with those worlds and give them all a nice farewell. If I had to make a list of returning worlds that should come back, it'd be: Agrabah, Atlantica, Halloween Town, NeverLand, The Pride Lands, 100 Acre Woods, The Grid/Space Paranoids, and The Land of Dragons.

This is really fascinating. I have never seen a concept art like this from the KH series. It looks like the concept art of a Disney movie. I got so used to Nomura`s sharp style so a picture like this came as surprise. Just imagine how pretty and massive this world will be with the art style of KH, and the power of the PS4.

I keep trying to keep my hype down cause in the past I'd always imagine the worlds being much bigger than they ended up being and I was disappointed by the smallness of each world, but every game so far has basically been on created PS2-level hardware, including the ReMIX's because those are just HD ports. But now that we're finally getting a game that's being built from the ground up on truly powerful hardware, my mind is imagining Sora on top of Baymax riding around in the sky across San Fransokyo and if it comes true the way I imagine, oh my God this game will be magical.

Watched Big Hero 6 tonight, been meaning to for a while, got a good reason finally. First of all, that was a REALLY good movie. I think I enjoyed that more than the last 8-10 movies I've seen. Also, I went in thinking "What would work as a connecting point to Kingdom Hearts besides what was mentioned?" Well...Wall of Spoilers!
The sacrifice Baymax made, using his armor to save his friend from being trapped in another dimension but dooming himself to be instead. That sounds pretty much exactly what Aqua did for Terra at the end of BBS. Why do I now feel like what Sora does in San Fransokyo (or maybe even his reason for getting involved, what if he finds out about the portals!?) is going to result in finding how to or actually rescuing Aqua & Ansem?
Oh... oh wow. How did I not make that connection while watching the movie?! Maybe this could be used for some nice foreshadowing.

So since dark baymax has abilities similar to Youkai as implied by his left arm, I'm curious if Youkai himself will appear despite what happened to him at the end of the movie
This isn't really the Disney world I would have hoped for, but the concept sounds solid and I'm excited for the fans who wanted this.
I guess the few of us KH fans who aren't invested in these new-fangled CGI Disney flicks will just sit in the corner and wait our turn.

I honestly felt that Youkai was a really weak villain as far as Disney villains go, and why retread to a villain whose story is done? Considering this is post-movie, I don't think they could make any logical explanation for Callahan appearing either as a supporting character or antagonist especially considering his storyline was 100% all about Abigail and she's already been rescued from the pocket of space she was sleep in.
Youkai's abilities were only due to Hiro's invention, and so if anybody was to figure out a way to defeat Dark Baymax, it'd be Hiro.

I really, really like the direction this game is taking so far. While shifting elements of the original plot (KHI) was more intuitive than copy + pasting the source material (KHII), I'm pleased to hear they have written original scenarios (or maybe it borrows plot points being used for the BH6 sequel) - at least it takes place after the events of the film.
It's excellent that they will embellish long-standing KH themes of friendship and light/dark to further with the world they have chosen. #relevance

On youtube Blue Nocturne made this really cool field and minigame theme for a Big Hero 6 world. His sounded techno-ish and awesome.

Never have I been more disappointed in a world than I was with La Cite de Cloches in DDD. So empty and so watered down. It just didn't feel like the film at all. Toning down the plot was one thing, cause there's some pretty mature themes in Hunchback. But the lack of NPCs was just aghhhhh. It felt like a giant ghost town. A ghost city, rather.

I didn't really mind the absence of everybody because when we first visited La Cite de Cloches, I was under the impression that the world was sleeping and therefore only "relevant" people were active. I know it's a dumb thought, but that's what I thought first going into KH3D.
Now, however, when I play over the main console games I do feel the emptiness of the worlds. I just think that for KH it's hard to have NPCs around when most areas are for fighting. I am very interested to see how they overcome that issue for KH3, especially with worlds like Big HERO 6 that look like they should be really populated.

2. How should these people behave if Sora is being an asshole?
3. What happens if Heartless attack, do the citizens flee, do they get consumed, should Sora be able to save them?
Face it, Kingdom Hearts is not going to be a GTA game, so as before there will be safe zones that are (more or less) populated by NPCs and fighting zones where you won't see another soul. Creating convincing NPCs costs time and money, remember the re-textured people of Traverse Town and Agrabah in KH, so I'm pretty sure not every world will have them, probably just the hub world(s) like in former games.
I still shudder if I think about how Disney Infinity solved these problems.
If Assassins Creed Unity can supposedly host 10,000 NPC's at one time then I have faith in Square Enix / Disney to provide a few or more NPC's per world.

I also have faith that not every world will be as deserted as in BBS or DDD but I don't think the team (that is much, much smaller than what Ubisoft can bring to the table) will make San Fransokyo a believable city.

To be fair, if there are going to be heartless popping up everywhere around the city then I'm sure no one would want to be around for that anyway! Not excusing the no NPC problem of course but I'll never forget the first time we see someone in KH in traverse town getting attacked by a heartless and their heart lost. Don't think anyone wants to be outside near that!

In Fable if you start a battle int he town normal people will run and flee that all that needs to happen.

The issue of which I was addressing isn't as much a creative one but a technical one. In KH1/2, Olympus Colosseum, there are times when a crowd was meant to be present during a match. Whenever chaos would ensue you'd hear screaming and panic but no people. This came from technical limitations at the time (as far as we know). Though now it should strictly fall to scenario.
Plus the actions and abilities of SDG are usually (not always) within reason of the world they are in at the time. Especially now that the worlds plots are being written in terms with the game's story. A lot can be retconned and added to work in the most hectic of settings.
I honestly thought Frozen and a trailer for KH3 were going to be shown at D23. Yet I am very pleased that Big Hero 6 was announced instead of Frozen. From what I've heard the reason why there were no NPC in the past games well the earlier ones was because at the time the tech wasn't strong enough to support making that many NPC but maybe since KH3 is going to be on a more advanced tech perhaps that'll change?
I disagree, the lack of NPCs wasn't only a technical hurdle, because there are PS2 (and PSOne) games that featured crowds and more NPCs, think of racing games, think of sport games, think of Final Fantasy.
Of course newer systems can handle more NPCs (and larger areas) but at the same time the demands are rising. You need models that are detailed and don't look the same at first glance, you need animations, you need AI programming, you need voice recording and now fill a whole city with them. That's a task that shouldn't be taken lightly, Ubisoft has a whole studio that deals with this stuff and even AAA games like Dragon Age Inquisition fall horrible flat in this department.
Again, I'm not saying Kingdom Hearts III will be only half-assed or really just KH II.5 but before I don't see a video of a crowded Baymax or another Disney world, I don't believe that's the focus of the KHIII team right now, nor do I think it should be. You can create atmosphere in many different ways and at the end of the day Kingdom Hearts III will be successful in this department.

I just finished watching Big HERO 6, and man I am so excited for this world in KH3.

Big Hero 6 is one of the best Disney animated movies, the characters are amazing and full of personality, the soundtrack is stellar and the animation is wonderfull, I don't know how Disney managed to make one of the best movies from such poor and boring source material :P (Yes I dislike Marvel to some extent)

They aren't going to change it since at its core the city is San Francisco but with a Japanese spin to it. They try to stay as true to the film locations as possible. The only thing new will probably be locations for fighting Dark!Baymax...

A Yoko Shimomura orchestration of First Flight whilst Sora is on Baymax is something that I can imagine! As far as the heartless goes, I agree with that you've stated, but to add to what you just said, they're probably going to make the heartless as Final Fantasy designed as possible to go with the motif of Japanese Yokai and Kaiju.

Let It Go just so happened to be a song that ticked all the boxes to be a viral sensation.

So I also enjoy Immortals, but I don't think it or any of the music from Big Hero 6 will be reorchestrated, largely because I think Yoko leans towards making her own music? I believe she once explained she likes watching the movies a month before and then making the music for the world so she remembers the feeling of the movie, but doesn't want to remember the music from the movie so well that she copies it. Clearly as the series goes on there are a few worlds here and there where she did want to reorchestrate the film's music, not sure exactly what makes her choose that admittedly.
That being said, I personally think this world and Corona will have original music. If Arendelle is a thing, I do see Let it Go getting in somehow though :P
Come to think of it, if a world based on The Lion King managed to get music that wasn't based on Circle of Life or Hakuna Matata, I can't see BH6 getting its soundtrack re-orchestrated.
I actually wouldn't mind hearing a reorchestrated version of "Immortals." Yoko Shimomura truly is a goddess amongst video game composers, so I can very easily see her doing a fantastic job on the reorchestated track. Me personally, I just don't want the actual song to be in there seeing as I don't think it was that great of a song. That, and I really hate Fall Out Boy.
Also, is it weird that I can easily see Noctis and co. showing up in San Fransokyo somehow?

Well, Atlantica's field theme was changed in Kingdom Hearts 2 to an original composition from a re-orchestration of Under The Sea from Kingdom Hearts 1. I suppose, all the Yoko reorchestrated soundtracks sample Disney melodies if they explain the world.

I'm a little late to this topic, but I unfortunately o lay saw Big Hero Six once, so I'm unaware of the song. Looks like I'll have to check it out, or actually, I'll probably just watch the movie again since it is, in my opinion Disney's best movie in a while (and their quality has been pretty high lately). I'm thrilled this world is in the game, and the concept behind the world and its story seems rather dark, which is fantastic.
On a side note, I get the feeling from the tone of the announcement trailers how much the devs truly care about this game.

I totally agree. I love "Immortals" so much! I kind of hope that we get a video sequence of Hiro gearing up Sora/Donald/Goofy like in the movie with "Immortals" playing in the background.
