This is for all of the people who can't play the game for whatever reason. I will update this thread with each new story quest - however, I will be excluding Disney worlds, since they don't really influence the main plot, anyway. I will also be excluding side-stories that don't affect the plot in a major way (Mickey, Donald, and Goofy)
Furthermore, this is the story from the perspective of someone who's in Vulpes.
I will be referring to the player as "we" and "Player".

"Long ago, people lived in peace, bathed in the warmth of light. Everyone loved the light. Then people began to fight over it. They wanted to keep it for themselves. And darkness was born in their hearts. The darkness spread, swallowing the light and many people's hearts. It covered everything, and the world disappeared. But small fragments of light survived, in the hearts of children. With these fragments of light, children rebuilt the lost world. It's the world we live in now. But the true light sleeps, deep within the darkness. That's why the worlds are still scattered, divided from each other. But someday, a door to the innermost darkness will open and the true light will return. So, listen, child. Even in the deepest darkness, there will always be a light to guide you. Believe in the light, and the darkness will never defeat you. Your heart will shine with its power and push the darkness away."
Spoiler ShowWe get introduced to our very own Chirithy - these little Dream Eaters will be our companions forever.
Spoiler Show
Somewhere around Quest #30, we are introduced to a Power Bangle by Chirithy - these bangles have the power to collect dark energy. It's also a gameplay mechanic, which makes your attacks stronger. (Heartless you defeat drop Guilt)
After Chirithy goes away, another one appears from behind us, saying "What the…"
Spoiler ShowIn a cutscene, we see Chirithy (Chirithy A from here on) and another Chirithy (Chirithy B) talking to each other in the first district of Daybreak Town toward the waterway.
Spoiler Show
Chirithy A: "Hi, Chirithy."
Chirithy B: "Hi, Chirithy."
Chirithy A: (cheery): "How's your wielder?"
Chirithy B: (sad): "Indifferent."
Chirithy A: (sad): "Oh."
Chirithy B: "I don't think they understand what's going on."
Chirithy A: "They'll learn. They have to."
Chirithy B: "You're right. There are only 5 Unions..."
Chirithy A: "...And we can't afford to lose any of them, which is why we need to trust our wielders will flourish."
The cutscene ends here, but picks up on Quest #250.
We walk back into the Moogle Shop (see Quests #231-235) and see a Chirithy who probably belongs to the Keyblade Wielder we talked to earlier. Chirithy tells us that their Wielder is sorry and won't be able to keep their promise to return to the shop. He says goodbye and leaves.
The scene then cuts back to the waterfront. Chirithy B is laying down.
Chirithy B: "Hi, Chirithy."
Chirithy A: "What's wrong?"
Chirithy B: "My wielder disappeared into darkness."
Chirithy A: "Oh."
Chirithy B: "Is this the end?"
Chirithy A: (sad): "We have a connection to our keyblade wielders. If they disappear, so do we."
Chirithy B: "Yeah..."
Chirithy B dematerializes. Behind Chirithy A, a portal of light opens and Master Ava walks through.
Ava: "The wielders are gathering Lux at an extraordinary pace. However, the darkness is spreading faster."
Chirithy: "Then there really is a traitor among the five?"
Ava: "I'm not willing to believe that yet."
Chirithy: "Right.."
Spoiler Show
We see our character sleeping in a room. We're having a dream in which we see the Master of Masters talking to the 5 Union Leaders.
After mere seconds, we awake in fright, only to find Chirithy sitting on the windowsill next to your bedside.
Chirithy: "That must have been some dream. You were tossing and turning like crazy. Try to close your eyes and get some sleep."
We explain what we saw to Chritihy, but he responds with "close your eyes and try to get some sleep".
As soon as we are asleep, Chirithy (Chirthy A) turns and asks into the darkness "Was that you?". In response, another Chirithy (Chirhty B) appears outside the windows and says: "Did you show him/her the dream? What is it you are trying to do?"
Chirithy A: "The opposite of what you're doing."
Chirithy B looks a bit sad and says: "I guess that makes us enemies."
After Chirhthy B disappears, Chirithy A turns to our sleeping character and says: "Don't worry, I'll protect you. I have to..."
Spoiler Show
We get introduced to Ephemer and find out that he's in a different Union. He tells us that he's working on something non-Union related and wants to tell us a secret - "The worlds we visit - the worlds of the fairy tales - are nothing more than holograms. You know, projections. The light we collect there is actually this world's light. To put it simply: There are lots of worlds, right? And they're all connected by land. But it's impossible to go around all of them. That's why there's a mechanism that projects those worlds here and allows us to collect Lux from far away lands.
I'm gathering information, trying to figure out how the whole thing works. My hunch is that the Book of Prophecies held by the Foretellers is what's creating these holograms."
We then tell Ephemer about the dream where we saw the Foretellers and the Master of Masters in a room. Ephemer and Player then decide to check out the place. After we leave the place, two Chirithies appear-
Chirithy A: Is he yours?
Chirithy B: I don't know, is he?
Chirithy A: You're not the same color you were before. (He's a lot darker than normal Chirithies)
Chirithy B: Very perceptive. So what's your next move? He/She's getting closer to the truth. Are you going to allow that?
We then cut back to Ephemer and Player, where we tell Ephemer that we actually don't know where the room is. They then decide to look for a way inside the next day.
Spoiler ShowWe see Ephemer and Player enter the Underground Waterway Entrance. After fighting a bunch of Heartless together, we hear loud noises. As Player wants to go on, Ephemer stops us and says "I think we should come back later. […] Let's meet tomorrow at Fountain Square. How about noon?", to which we then agree and leave.
At night, we happily tell out Chirithy about our new friend. We then cut to the Underground Waterway and see Ephemer, who says he's sorry. He goes on without us.
The next day, we wait. And wait. And wait. From noon to evening. Chirithy eventually tells us to head back home together, and assures us that something important must've happened. "Don't be sad. When you're sad, it makes me sad too.", he says, to which we take him in our arms and hug him.
Spoiler ShowWe see Ephemer and a sad Master Ava sitting at the Fountain Square.
Ephemer: "Master Ava, you're really not yourself today. I guess even Foretellers have their off days. Hey, maybe talking about the Book will cheer you up!"
Master Ava: "Not a chance!"
Ephemer: "Awww."
Master Ava: "You were trying to pull a fast one on me, weren't you?"
Ephemer: "No, no! I was joking!"
Master Ava: "If you say so. But, I really do think it would be great if all the Unions could work together and be friends."
Ephemer: "You know, I made a friend from another Union today. They don't talk much, but I think they're just shy. We're meeting again tomorrow."
Master Ava: "That sounds like so much fun! You'd better go home and get some sleep then."
Ephemer: "Okay! Well, it was nice talking to you. I don't know what's got you down, but please cheer up."
Ephemer leaves.
Master Ava: "If worse comes to worst, I want to leave the future to kids who see the world like you do."
She sees dandelions floating to the sky.
"Let the wind carry you far, far away…"
Ephemer meets up with us and apologizes. He asks if we're still up for the adventure, to which we cut to the Undergrund Waterway/tower where Player last was. Ephemer realizes Player is not ready yet and says he'll be waiting, to which he disappears with a bunch of dandelions floating up.
Player then wakes up - the last sequence was just a dream. We tell our Chirithy that we want to search for Ephemer in the tower, to which Chirithy responds with "Only the Foretellers are allowed there. Besides, now's not a good time. I can't go into detail, but the Foretellers… well, lately, they've been disagreeing on a few things. Let's just say, you should steer clear of that tower for the time being."
We don't listen to Chirithy and decide to search for Ephemer in the tower.
Spoiler ShowWe start the Quest with a cutscene - Chirithy and Player are standing in front of the tower. Chirithy tells us he doubts this is a good idea, but Player continues to ignore him.
Spoiler ShowWe're looking for Ephemer. Player is talking to two Keyblade Wielders -
Wielder A: "It seems one of the Masters is recruiting Keyblade Wielders with potential."
Wielder B: "I believe it's Master Ava, the one with the fox mask. These days, I see her around the plaza all the time."After 3 Quests, we talk to another Wielder:
"Ephemer? The kid with silver hair, right? I saw him talking to Master Ava the other day. I have a friend who knows the Master very well. Unfortunately, he's off completing a task in Agrabah. I don't know when he'll be back. Why don't you go and find him yourself?"
Spoiler ShowAfter some "fetch-a-Keybkade-Wielder"-Quests, Player and Chirithy encounter Master Ava in the tower.
"You're Player. Why are you here?"
We tell her about Ephemer and ask her whether she knows him or not. Then we tell her that we've been looking for her due to a rumor. Player also tells Ava that they had a dream about Ephemer and told her all about it.
Master Ava summons her Keyblade and tells Player to do the same.
After a tough fight, Ava tells us that she sees a lot of potential in Player. "But I also see sadness in your heart. Hanging on to it will eventually lead to darkness. You need to somehow let it go."
She tells us to go home, and after we leave, she realizes that it's us Ephemer was talking about.
We transition to what seems to be the same dream (Q401) again, but this time, we see more. Ephemer sees a person and asks who it is, so the person steps forward. We only see a shadow.
Ephemer: "You?!"
We cut to Player again, where Chirithy tells us it must've been a tough day.
"It wasn't fun for me either, you know.", Master Ava says.
Master Ava: "Did you show him/her the dream of Ephemer?"
Chirithy: "No, that wasn't me."
Master Ava: "Then perhaps it was Ephemer himself."
Chirithy: "Huh? How is that possible?"
Master Ava: "Ephemer's getting very close to the truth. He's fallen in an unchained state and now finds himself in a different realm. From that realm, I believe he tried reaching out to her. If they connect, even in a dream, that means he/she's getting closer to that realm too. Whether he/she continues down that path is up to her own heart. Chirithy, you have to protect Player from the nightmares, so the wind can carry him/her far away from here.", after this, Ava disappears.
Chirithy: "Me?"
Spoiler ShowChirithy tells us that we've been doing a fantastic hob lately. He has a present for us -- the Bracelet of Light! We immediately equip it. He says that this Bracelet will protect us against the Darkness when we fight against Heartless in the Corridors of Darkness, which is a mission that the Foretellers assigned to us.
Spoiler Show
We return from our mission that the Foretellers assigned us. We see Chirithy and Master Ava talking about Player. Ava tells Chirithy that she needs to hasten Player's training and that Player must strengthen his/her resistance to the darkness as quickly as possible. When Chirithy asks why, Ava only says that darkness is drawing near and that they need as many warriors as they can get on their side - the side of light.
Spoiler ShowWe talk to a Wielder.
"Another Wielder out for Lux, huh? I don't see why you're so happy to see me. I'm your rival, not your friend."
Chirithy immediately calls him out. "Wait a second!! "Rivals"? This isn't a game, you know."
Wielder: "I know. It's just that collecting Lux is serious business. No offense, but making friends from another Union is just going to slow me down. Don't take it personally. Sorry, but friends aren't my power." He immediately leaves.
Right after, his friend arrives and talks to us. Eventually, he decides to follow him. Player also wants to find the Wielder, so off we go!
Spoiler Show
We finally found the Keyblade Wielder.
Wielder: "Don't you have friends to be making somewhere?"
Chirithy: "Hey! We were worried about you! So was your friend."
Wielder: "Friend? Oh, that guy… He wishes he was my friend. I just wish he would stop following me around. Anyway, save your worry for the other Wielders. I can handle myself. And I'll take down that new breed of monsters just to prove it."
Spoiler Show
We return to the Fountain Square, where a girl called Skuld also arrived shortly after us. She tells us that none of this is a competition - "or at least it shouldn't be. Our goal of protecting the Light is the same. There's no need for us to fight."
She introduces herself as Skuld and sits down next to us. It turns out Ephemer told her about us a lot. Skuld and Ephemer were in the same party, but one day, he just quit. He showed up in her dream the other day and told her to find Player. She says that she doesn't know why he was in her dreams to begin with, but she still wanted to find us.
We tell her that Ephemer was in our dream also, to which she's surprised and asks us about what he said. We explain everything and eventually decide to go find him together in the tower. Skuld deduces that the reason Master Ava doesn't want them to go back there must be the same reason why Ephemer asked her to go with Player. Suddenly, the earth is shaking. As the loud sound came from nearby, Skuld and Player decide to investigate!
Spoiler Show
It turns out Master Invi and Master Aced are fighting against each other on the roofs in the 2nd District!
None of our trio understands why the Foretellers would be fighting each other.
"Ephemer was right. It's what I was trying to tell you earlier. Just before i woke up, he told me the end of the world is near. After what we just saw, I can't help thinking it's true. This world will disappear, just like Ephemer did.", Skuld says.
Player and Skuld decide to go on to the tower.
Spoiler ShowSuddenly, 3 beings called "Darklings" appear in front of the trio!
"…ux…"
"…Lux…"
"Give… Lux"
Skuld and Player prepare draw their Keyblades and fight against them. After the battle, the Darklings go to the tower. Suddenly, a purple-colored Chirithy appears in front of us.
Chirithy: "Aren't you…?"
Dark Chirithy: "Long time no see."
Chirithy: "So it is you."
(It turns out this is the same Chirithy that slowly started to change its colors.)
Dark Chirithy: "You don't look very happy to see me... Come on, I was just trying to help! I thought if I took away everyone's Lux, there'd be no reason to fight over it anymore. Aren't I the greatest?"
Chirithy: "That color…"
Dark Chirithy: "You like my new look?"
Chirithy: "You've been tainted by darkness."
Skuld: "Darkness!?"
Dark Chirithy: "What's wrong? Do you hate darkness? Well, let me tell you a little secret: Light and Dark are two halves of the same coin. They're like day and night. One can't exist without the other. So you should embrace it like I did!"
Chirithy: "You mean those three used to be human?"
Dark Chirithy: "You betcha."
Skuld: "Were they wielders, too!?"
Dark Chirithy: "Right-o. But unlike you, those three can no longer use the power of Medals. The strength they fought you with was all their own! To be perfectly honest, they were pretty wimpy before. But darkness has a way of finding those with weak hearts and making them strong. Ins't darkness so sweet?"
Chirithy: "Those aren't the Master's teachings!"
Dark Chirithy: "Teachings-smeechings! The truth of this world isn't something you can teach, Chirithy. It's something you have to learn for yourself."
Chirithy: "Who is your Wielder!? Where are they?"
Dark Chirithy: "Hehehe… Closer than you think." with that, Dark Chirithy disappears.
Spoiler ShowTogether, we head to the place where we last saw Ephemer. Chirithy explains them that this is the final room - the Foreteller's chamber. Chirithy wants to leave as soon as possible, asking whether they can leave now or not. Skuld is disappointed and admits that she was expecting more.
"What are you doing here?"
We see Master Ira coming into the room.
Master Ira: "I caught another Wielder in here just the other day. A friend of yours?"
Player: "Yes, he is."
Skuld: "So he WAS here. Did you talk to him?"
Master Ira: "Yes. But you must know his Union gathers Lux for a reason that contradicts ours. He befriended you to get his hands on information, nothing more. But he is a thread no longer."
Skuld: "Did you--!? Is Ephemer--?"
Master Ira: "He's gone."
Skuld: "How could you!?"
Master Ira: "What are you going to do?"
Chirithy: "Nothing! Master Ira, this is my fault. All of it! They didn't do anything wrong."
Player cheers Chirithy up and looks at Master Ira.
Player: "This whole thing was my idea. I was the one who wanted to look for Ephemer, and for good reason. You see, I've gone to different worlds to gather Lux; a lot of effort has gone to the contributions to my Union. I've even had to fight those I consider friends. I've done everything that was expected of me without a second thought. And then I met Ephemer. We didn't know each other for very long, but he left a lasting impression. Not all of our memories are good ones; in fact, he even broke one of our promises. No matter what happened, I knew we were still friends. But you took him away from me. I feel sad, I feel angry, I feel hurt. Maybe that means I have darkness in my heart; I don't care. But I can't let you get away with what you did to my friend. Even if I have to fight you, even if I don't stand a chance, even if I may disappear… I will because I know my know in my heart that Ephemer would do the same if he were here."
We draw our Keyblade.
"Master Ira, I mean no disrespect, but this is something I must do."
Master Ira draws his Keyblade as well. "So be it."
After the fight, we exhaustedly fall to the ground.
Master Ira: "Congratulations, you fought admirably."
Master Ira suddenly transforms into Master Ava, who heals Player and thells Player and Skuld for showing her the strength in their hearts.
Master Ava: "I hope you'll forgive me for deceiving you, but the Foreteller you fought, the room you were in, were both merely projections."
Skuld: "But why? What was the point?"
Master Ava: "It's as Ephemer stated in your dream. The world will soon end. But if all Wielders disappear along with it, there will be no one left to drive away the ensuing darkness. So we must prevent this at all costs. My role in all of this is to father Wielders with great potential, regardless of their Unions. They must survive for the world after."
Chirithy: "The world after...?"
Skuld: "This is all so- I- I don't understand. What happened to Ephemer?"
Master Ava: "Ephemer must've caught wind of the fact that there was more to everything than what he'd been taught, so he started questioning things. He went looking for the truth because he knew there was one to be found. That's how I knew he was the one, the one I could count on to lead the Dandelions in my stead."
Chirithy: "Dandelions?"
Master Ava: "They're a special group of Keyblade Wielders that will remain after the rest of us are gone. It was my role to put the Dandelions together. But I had to be there when the inevitable events unfold, so I need someone to replace me when I'm gone. And I chose Ephemer. He accepted, and now he's far away from here, waiting."
Skuld: "So then… he's all right?"
Master Ava: "Yes, he's fine. However, this world is not. There is a Wielder who has been corrupted, and the Chirithy you saw earlier is proof of that. But I want the world to come to be filled with light. That's why only Wielders with a strong resistance to darkness are chosen as Dandelions. So I ask both of you: will you join us?"
Skuld: "Of course, Master Ava. Thank you. Player?"
Player: "What'll happen to the others? The ones wo aren't chosen?"
Master Ava: "They will have no choice but to fight in the Keyblade War."
Chirithy: "The Keyblade War…?"
Master Ava: "I'm afraid it's inevitable."
Player: "May I take some time to think about my decision?"
Skuld: "Player!"
Master Ava: "Of course, take all the time you need. This decision is yours to make, and you should do what feels right. I just as that you keep this to yourselves. I'm afraid the future is a very… sensitive subject."
We then see our trio at the Fountain Square, talking about what just happened.
Chirithy: "Player, what's holding you back from joining the Dandelions? You'd get to see Ephemer again!"
Player: "Ephemer is my friend, and he's important to me. But so is everyone else, and I can't jus abandon them."
Chirithy: "I understand."
Skuld then decides to share her story -- when she became a Keyblade Wielder, she made her own party. But nobody wanted to join. After what seemed like ages, Ephemer did. For a long time, it was just the two of them, but as time passed, others joined them, and they spent all their time gathering as much Lux as possible. With their busy schedule, Skuld and Ephemer spoke less and less, until one day, he turned to her and said, "Skuld, you'll be alright on your own now." And then he left the party. Skuld continued to collect Lux with her party members, but people started to lose interest. One by one they left, until one day, it was just her again. And she WAS fine on her own. She never forgot about him and she knows that he never forgot her either because he led Skuld to Player.
Skuld thanks the Player and says that now, she only has to thank Ephemer. And the only way to do that is to join the Dandelions.
We then cut to the Fountain Plaza at another day, where Ava is holding a speech to the Dandelions.
"Today you're here to continue with your training for our mission. This session may seem like it's familiar to you, but in a world that is different, one made of dreams,… You are our hope. A war will soon wage. Those who strive to protect the light will turn their weapons against their allies for the sake of loyalty to their own Unions. To be honest, I don't know how far I can guide all of you. What you must remember is that anyone can lose themselves to darkness. However, there will be no winners; everything will be lost. Except all of you who are the seeds of hope. When the time comes, and there is war, you mustn't fight, but instead you must fly away from here to the world outside. This training is to help you fulfill this crucial task. The future is in all of your hands - as is the world's light.
May your heart be your guiding key."
Spoiler Show
"This secret must stay wit the five of you. When all is said an done, you must come to the fated land."
We see Ephemer at the Keyblade Graveyard.
"You'll be joined by four others."
"Am I the second to arrive?", Skuld asks who appeared behind Ephemer.
Ephemer: "Skuld!? Well, this is a surprise!"
Skuld: "Disappointed? I, on the other hand, had a feeling you might be here."
Ephemer: "Of course not! We came here once right after the war, remember? I just never thought I'd see you here again."
Skuld: "This whole thing is a big secret. We weren't supposed to tell anybody."
Ephemer: "I suppose you're right."
Skuld: "I wonder who the others are."
Ephemer: "I dunno. Wasn't sure I believed Master Ava when she said others would come. But now that you're here…"
Skuld: "Look! Someone's coming.
We cut into a series of flashbacks.
The first one takes place in the Fortellers' Chamber, where we see the Master of Masters and Master Ava having a conversation.
Master of Masters: "What's written in the last page of the Book is gonna happen. the entire world will be lost to darkness."
Master Ava: "But Master, isn't there anything we can do?"
Master of Masters: "Well, that's what brings me to your role. You might just be the only hope of keeping light from expiring."
Master Ava: "Hope…? Master, what is it that you need me to do?"
Master of Masters: "Don't get involved in any battles, forget the notions of Unions, find Keyblade Wielders with potential and create an entirely separate organiaztion. Then, like the seeds of a dandelion, let them fly to another world. They will keep the light alive."
Master Ava: "You really think that I'm the right person for this?"
Master of Masters: "Ava, you're the ONLY person for this."
Master Ava: "I understand."
Master of Masters: "And then, after all of that…"
The second one involves Master Ava and Ephemer.
Master Ava: "I'll select four others from the Dandelions. The five of you will each lead a Union, as the five of us have. You won't be alone in this. The five of you can work together."
Ephemer: "The five of us…"
We cut back to the Master of Masters and Master Ava.
Master Ava: "Union Leaders?"
Master of Masters: "When all's said and done and only the Dandelions are left, they'll need to lead the Unions."
Master Ava: "Is there a need to maintain the Unions?"
Master of Masters: "Of course! Getting rid of them would be like pooh-poohing all your hard work! Besides, other than the five new Union Leaders, no one else is going to know that the world… well, you know."
Master Ava: "What?"
Master of Masters: "There's no point for anyone to carry around knowledge of such a catastrophic event. I want everyone to start over in a different world with a clean slate - well, to their knowledge, of course."
Master Ava: "You can do that?"
Master of Masters: "Apparently so. Here, take a look at these five names." (He hands her a sheet of paper)
"They're your new recruits. Make them all Dandelions and when the time comes, teach them their roles."
Master Ava: "Why is this one circled in red?"
Master of Masters: "Jackpot! That lucky Wielder gets their own free copy of the Book of Prophecies!"
Master Ava: "The Book?"
Master of Masters: "Yeah, it's a great read, don't you think? Oh, and it's also needed to shape the world into what it's supposed to be."
Master Ava: "That sounds awfully risky."
Master of Masters: "Only if the other four get their hands on it. Ava, this book needs to be handed to its owner in secret. No one else can know."
Master Ava: "All right."
We cut back to the present, where the third Union Leader arrives.
Skuld: "Welcome! You're number three. I'm Skuld, nice to meet you."
???: "Oh, uh, thanks, you too."
Ephemer: "So, Master Ava talked to you too, huh?"
???: "Yeah, she said I should come here after everything was over, and that I was one of the five."
Ephemer: "I got the same speech."
Ephemer goes to the third member and reaches for their hand. "I'm Ephemer, by the way."
The third member gives Ephemer his hand -- "I'm Ventus. Call me Ven."
Spoiler ShowSkuld, Chirithy, and Ephemer are having a conversation.
Skuld tells Player's Chirithy that Player keeps dreaming about 'it'. Chirithy confirms this, and says that they're having terrible nightmares.
Skuld: "Nightmares?"
"Uh huh. It's hard seeing Player like that. And I hate lying… But I know it's for the best."
Skuld: "It is. And it might be hard, but you're doing a great job."
Chirithy: "Of course! We're best friends."
Skuld: "I can tell."
Ephemer: "Chirithy, don't forget about your task."
Chirithy: "I won't! Union x [cross], right?"
Skuld: "That's right. New adventures with friends is a great way to bury memories deep within one's heart."
Ephemer: "And we can't stand to lose anyone now. The darkness in this world is not the same as what we faced in the other one."
Chirithy: "Different? How?"
Ephemer: "It feels more… complex, like there's more to it than meets the eye. Almost like it has its own will."
Skuld: "Don't worry, we'll look into it. In the meantime, you know what your job is. Fill Player in on everything, okay?"
Chirithy: "Will do!"
Chirithy vanishes.
Skuld turns to Ephemer -- "what was that about? There's no need to worry anyone until we know for sure what it is."
Ephemer: "I know. I'm sorry, but this concerns everyone. I get a really bad feeling every time something happens in this world that didn't happen in the other one. This Union Cross business also feels... off. Something's not right."
Skuld: "But we were told to make it happen, It's in the rules, remember?"
Ephemer: "I know, but -- 'May your heart be your guiding key'."
Spoiler Show"We cannot avoid the end; Not even the Masters, including myself, are likely to survive."
We cut back to the flashback that involved Master Ava and Ephemer in Q#665.
Ephemer: "Me? A Master? A Union Leader? That's crazy. And what's this nonsense about 'the end'?"
Master Ava: "There isn't much time left. You are the ones who will remain. Someone needs to keep everyone in order. Otherwise, light will
Ephemer: "But…"
Master Ava: "I'll select four others from the Dandelions. The five of you will each lead a Union, as the five of us have. You won't be alone in this. The five of you can work together."
Ephemer: "The five of us…"
Master Ava gives Ephemer a green book.
We cut back to the present, where Ventus, Ephemera, and Skuld are waiting for the next two Union Leaders to arrive.
Ven admits that he is jealous of Skuld and Ephemer, since he's always been alone. He says that there's nothing special or amazing about him - he never even made it into the top ranking. He doesn't understand why he was chosen. Skuld assures him that Master Ava must've had a reason, to which Ven says that he never really spoke with Master Ava. He doesn't know what she was like - Ephemer says that she was very easy to talk to.
"You say that about everyone", Skuld teases Ephemer.
Ephemer: "Not true!"
Ventus: "I sure wish I had friends."
Ephemer: "You do! Right here."
Ventus: "Yeah!"
???: "Friends. Cool.", the fourth Union Leader says. He goes towards them and introduces himself -
"The name's Brain. Pleasure."
We see a few seconds of the aftermath of the Keyblade War, with Player laying on the ground.
The next flashback takes place before the war - Player and Chirithy see two Wielders fight over Lux verbally. Chirithy tells Player not to intervene, but when both Wielders draw their Keyblade, Player quickly goes between them and stops the battle. As the situation started to escalate, Skuld also arrived, yelling at them to stop. More and more Keyblade Wielders are gathering around them, saying that 'the war's already begun'.
"That's right.", Master Aced says as he suddenly arrives.
Master Aced: "We can only place trust in our own Unions. We cannot tell who has fallen into darkness with a mere glance. Why do you fight over Lux? Light is not proof of strength. Victory is proof of strength. And a strong Union is proof of justice."
Skuld: "What?!"
Master Aced: "Do you disagree? Aren't you one of Ava's chosen wielders? One of the Dandelions? You, of all people, should be able to see that she's using her special Union to demonstrate her power."
Player: "I don't belong to the Dandelions."
Master Aced: "Which Union do you belong to?"
Player: "Vulpes."
Master Aced summons his Keyblade. "Stand ready." Player does the same and fights against Master Aced.
We then see Player wake up in the present -- this flashback was a dream (a dream that indeed happened, in KH X. More about this will come in a seperate thread in the future)
We cut back to Master Ava and Ephemer.
Master Ava: There are rules the five of you must obey when you become leaders of your own Unions."
Ephemer: "I'm listening, but this whole conversation about the end and leading Unions and all... I'm still trying to wrap my head around it."
Master Ava: "As long as you keep listening."
Ephemer: "... Okay."
Master Ava: "What I need you to do is to prepare the other world. I'll be sending all the Dandelions there soon. You'll continue living your lives, but without the impending doom."
Ephemer: "So, like an alternate reality?"
Master Ava: "Yes. But in order for it to work, the Dandelions will need to forget all about the strife, the war."
Ephemer: "So they won't remember any of it?"
Master Ava: "There's no need for them to remember such a tragedy. It'll simply be a burden. Only the five of you will know the truth. The Chritihy of each wielder will make it happen."
Ephemer: "It might be a burden, but isn't it better they remember the past? The past IS what makes the future."
Master Ava: "I thought you might say that. But I wonder if you would feel the same if you were there to witness the end."
Ephemer: "… …"
We cut to the present again.
Blaine: "Thought I'd be the last to arrive. Guess I'm not so lazy after all."
Ephemer: "I guess not."
Blaine: "So, you the leader?
Ephemer: "No, we haven't decided any of that yet. I think we should wait until we're all here."
Blaine: "You got it. Her, about the rules, think they're set in stone? Or more like a guideline?", he says as he shows them his green book.
Skuld: "They're rules. Of course they're set in stone."
Blaine: "I get it. You're the serious one. Like Master Ava."
Skuld: "You're not the first person to say that"
Ventus: "I thought you seemed familiar."
Ephemer: "But Master Ava is so amazing!"
Skuld: "What does that mean!"
Blaine: "But seriously, how do we know we can trust her? She's forcing us to lie to everyone, since we're the only ones who're supposed to know the truth.
Ventus: "Yeah, I'm not sure how to feel about it either."
Skuld: "But…"
We cut back to the past, where we see Player laying on the ground in the Keyblade Graveyard yet again. Lots of hearts are floating up into the sky. Chirithy then appears and tells us not to move.
Player: "Is it my time?"
He hugs us and suddenly there is a great blue light.
We see Skuld, who is going towards us.
Player: "Skuld."
Ephemer also goes to Player and sits next to them, to which the Player starts crying.
"We... made a promise..."
Ephemer: "I didn't forget."
Player smiles. "You're late…"
Ephemer: "I know, I'm sorry…"
We cut back to the present.
"I thought you might say that. But I wonder if you would feel the same if you were there to witness the end."
Ephemer: "Rules are rules. I don't want anyone else to have to carry the burden of the past."
Blaine: "Got it. I trust you'll guide us down the right path."
Ventus: "Same here!"
Skuld agrees.
Ephemer: "Just one more."
Spoiler ShowWe cut back to the past and see the Fountain Square.
I have a secret.
The camera pans to a roof, where we see an orange-haired girl sitting, together with her Chirithy.
This is my favorite spot that nobody knows about. It belongs to me, Strelitzia.
These past two years, I fought darkness to protect the light. I made friends, but I also had to say goodbye. I saw new party members come and go. Only a few of my friends from the beginning are still around.
A lot has changed over time, but there's always been one constant in my life -- you.
We see Strelitzia going around in the Fountain Square, where Player is sitting while waiting for Ephemer. [see Quests 371-375]I first saw you at Fountain Square. You were waiting for someone, but they never came. When I returned from my mission that day, you were still there - waiting.
We see Player hugging our Chirithy.
You looked so disappointed. I saw your eyes well up as you hugged Chirithy.
Then, we have a montage - various things that happened in the Disney worlds. It turns out Strelitzia was always with us, watching us from the shadows. She became more aware of us and we kept running into one another (mostly without Player really noticing her).
Since that day, I began to see you everywhere. It was strange because we must've crossed paths so many times before... But I didn't really notice you until that day.
I wanted to say hi... but I could never muster up the courage.
While everyone else was going about their days without question, you began to doubt your mission, your purpose. You saw there was something more, something we weren't being told.
You don't know me, but I feel like I know you. I hope that one day we can be friends. There's so much I'd like to tell you.
We see Strelitzia wandering in Daybreak Town, when suddenly Master Ava calls her name.
"Master Ava!"
Master Ava: "I need to ask a favor. It's somethin only you - a Dandelion - can help me with."
Strelitzia: "Me? A-are you sure?"
Master Ava shows her the green book.
"I need you to listen carefully. It won't be long before this world ---"
Spoiler ShowWe see Strelitzia in her bed, reading the book.
Strelitzia: "Me, a Union Leader…"
Chirithy: "What a great honor!
Strelitzia: "Yes. But it's also a great responsibility."
Chirithy: "I have faith in Master Ava."
Strelitzia: "Me too. But what she said about the world… could that be true?"
Chirithy: "It's a sacry thought, isn't it?"
Strelitzia: "Only the Dandelions will survive. That means everyone else will disappear."
Chirithy: "I suppose you're right. But your friends are all Dandelions. Why are you so worried?"
Strelitzia: "They are, but what about everyone else?"
Chirithy: "I know you care. But what do you think would happen if you told everyone the truth? The world is nearing its ende, and the Foretellers will disappear. No one would believe you."
Strelitzia: "No, they wouldn't... AH!!"
Chirithy: "Whoa! Wh-what is it?"
Strelitzia: "He/She is not a Dandelion!"
Chirithy: "Wha-? Who?? Oh, that Keyblade wielder you're always watching."
Strelitzia suddenly stands up and panics. She goes left and right.
Strelitzia: "I have to tell him/her! …But how will I find him/her? It's so dark out! What can I do...?"
Chirithy: "Hello? Are you okay?"
Strelitzia hops on her bed.
Chirithy: "What? I thought--"
Strelitzia: "I'm going to wake up early and wait at the Fountain Square."
Chirithy: "But Master Ava told you not to say a word to anyone."
Strelitzia: "I'm gonna recruit him to the Dandelions. I won't say a word about anything else. Good night!"
Chirithy: "I'm not sure I like this!!"
The next morning, Strelitzia is waiting for Player, when suddenly Chirithy says he saw him/her. They go to where Chirithy saw the Player.
Chirithy: "She… a Union Leader… really?"
They enter a house, but nobody is inside.
Chirithy: "Maybe my eyes were playing tricks on me."
Strelitzia: "Helloo! Is anyone here?"
Chirithy: "I guess I was wrong."
Strelitzia: "Well, it was worth a shot. I'll head back to the Fountain Square.
Chirithy: "Okay. I'll keep searching."
Chirithy: "Hm?"
Strelitzia: "What?"
We hear a Keyblade strike someone. (this was cut out in the GLOBAL version for some reason!!) Strelitzia and Chirithy are on the ground, her book next to her. The attacker takes her book and wanders off.
Chirithy: "Why...? Strelitzia…"
Strelitzia slowly gets up and hugs her Chirithy.
Chirithy: "I'm sorry. This is all my fault..."
Strelitzia: "Don't apologize. It's okay."
Strelitzia slowly drags herself and Chirithy outside and remembers all the moments Player and her shared with each other.
"I wish... I'd had the courage."
With a white glow around here, Strelitzia leaves the house -- only to disappear. We see a heart float up into the sky.
A few days later, the four Union Leaders are still waiting for number five.
???: "I hope I didn't keep you waiting."
Blaine: "Well, you did. How do you plan on making it up to us, number 5?"
???: "Number 5? Then I must be the last one."
Everyone introduces themselves to number five.
The camera pans to them and we see a young man with pink, shoulder-length hair.
"I do apologize for making you wait. I was searching for something and time for away from me. My name is Lauriam. It's nice to meet you all."
Spoiler Show
We see player and Chirithy (A) walking around the town, when suddenly a second Chirirthy (B) appears.
Chirithy B: "Hi, Chirithy."
Chirithy A: "Hi, Chirithy."
Chirithy B: "You're Muke, aren't you?"
Player: "That's right."
Chirithy B: "This might sting a little."
Chirithy B walks up to Player's Chirirthy and touches them on their back (it's not clear what exactly he's doing, he might pull out some fur or so.)
Chirithy A: "Owww! What was that for?
Chirithy B puts it into a bottle.
Chirithy B: "This! I have a present for you. A little thank you for all your hard work."
Out of the bottle, a Spirit appears!
Chirithy B: "Dun dada duuun! It's your very own Spirit!"
Chirithy A: "Spirit?"
Chirithy B: "This little one'll join you on your adventure. Play nice, okay?" With that, Chirithy B disappears.
We then see a cutscene of the Union Leaders entering the Foretellers' Chamber.
Blaine: "So this is the Foretellers' room~!"
Blaine then sits down on the chair and starts reading a copy of the Book of Prophecies.
Skuld: "I just don't think it's such a good idea to touch everything, you know?"
Blaine continues to read, arguing that they are allowed to use the room after all. Ephemer agrees.
Lauriam then sits down as well, and asks the others what they should start with. Skuld suggests dividing up the Unions, with Ephemer disagreeing and saying that he wants to keep going without diving the Unions
Blaine continues reading and is amazed. (he says "huu~h" while flipping a page.)
Ephemer: "I want to leave the 5 Unions we have now as they are, and discuss and decide things relating to the Union together, the five of us."
Skuld: "That's one way to avoid the conflict we've experienced before."
Blaine: "It was written as law that we are to divide them up, though. You think it'll be okay?"
Lauriam: "Well, it doesn't say when we are to do it."
Blaine: "I see. Sounds like it'll be a longish time~."
Skuld: "I think it's a good idea."
Lauriam: "I agree."
Skuld: "What about you, Ven?"
Ventus: "Yeah, I'm fine with what you guys think."
Ephemer: "You don't have to go along with everyone else, you know that, right?"
Ventus: "I don't know if I could handle suddenly being put in charge of a Union. I feel safer having us all decide together.
Blaine: "Being so timid isn't gonna work out in the long run~"
Marluxia: "Ven is a gentle guy."
They all laugh and agree.
Ephemer: "Also, I want to avoid panic. So for the time being, let's just say that the Foretellers are doing well."
Lauriam: "Yeah. Right now everyone seems to be in the middle of re-experiencing their time as Keyblade Wielders from the beginning, just as planned. So, why don't we wait til that's over before we discuss what to do?"
Skuld: "Yeah."
Ventus: "Uh-huh."
Blaine stands up, with the book in his hand. He shows everyone else a page and asks, "why don't we make this our first job?"
Ventus is amazed, so is Skuld, saying that it's cute. Ephemer points out that what they're looking at is a Spirit.
Blaine: "Yeah. To celebrate our rise to power, why don't we lift the ban on partners for everyone?"
Ventus: "Awesome! Awesome!"
Lauriam: "What do you mean by 'partner'?"
Blaine: "While they don't have the level of abilities as Chirithies, Spirits are creatures that eat nightmares."
Skuld: "Oh."
We cut to a flashback (same scene from Quest 670) in which Skuld, Ephemer, and Player's Chirithy discuss Player's dreams.
Chirithy: "It's hard seeing Player like that. And I hate lying… But I know it's for the best."
Skuld: "It is. And it might be hard, but you're doing a great job."
Chirithy: "Of course! We're best friends."
Skuld: "I can tell."
We cut back to the present, where Ephemer points out that it's to stop them from remembering the tragedy. Blaine confirms this and says that, if they can get everyone to raise the creatures that eat nightmares as their pets, the tragedy will start to fade away. Ephemer says it might work and agrees, together with Skuld and Ventus. Lauriam asks how they're even supposed to make them.
Blaine: "Well, I think they can be made using an archetype, which is the basis of the Spirits. Let's see..." He flips through the books and rips out a page. "We'll need some other things too. I'll start getting ready, so how about you guys get the stuff together for me?" He hands the page to Ephemer.
Lauriam: "Doesn't sound like my cup of tea, to be honest."
Blaine: "In that case, you can help me."
Lauriam: Well that sounds like my cup of tea."
Ephemer: "Okay then, the three of us will go and get the materials."
Blaine: "Thank you~"
With that, Ventus, Ephemer, and Skuld leave the room.
