The Kingdom Hearts Unchained χ notice board updated this evening with information relating to the new story quests and multiplayer mode that previously announced to be arriving in the Japanese version of the game. These will be arriving over the next few months in the English game.
Proud Mode has also launched* so grab your Keyblades and get to it!
*Notice says it's arrive but it's not live in-game yet.

New characters will be introduced as we dive further into the main story!
There will even be a brand new world to explore!
■A brand new feature! Play with others at the same time in Multiplayer Mode! (Starting Feb. 2017)
We are currently developing quests that will allow you to adventure with multiple party members.
Party members will be able to stand side-by-side, and coordinate with each other to clear these quests!Below is a screenshot of this in-development content, so have a look!
■Proud Mode is coming for high-level play! (Starting Jan. 2017)
For those seeking a challenge, Proud Mode has arrived!
Quests in Proud Mode will feature special conditions that will make clearing them a real challenge even for veteran players!
However, those who are able to overcome these difficulties will earn a brand new Keyblade!
In addition to all of the above, we have even more exciting campaigns and events planned, so stay tuned!

This is all for the NA/EU version right? So, JP gets the Multiplayer in January and NA/EU gets it in February? Only a month difference, I was expecting atleast 6 months. This is awesome!
So we also get a new world... so chronologically the new world happens before the War? Is the split happning so soon?
And Proud Mode...! Yeah I don't know how to feel about that. Looking at the JP version it sounds like hell... Atleast we get Lionheart, so that's nice. Speed Magic right?
So, I can sell those Fantasia Mickeys now?

So they're saying the main story is on hold until January? I'd rather they turn it into 15 quests a month rather than holding off completely.

Wow that was quicker than I initially anticipated. I thought for sure something like this would have been released further down the line. Can't wait to trying out Proud Mode though and Multiplayer seems interesting.

The game might be waiting for the day to roll over (in about 3 and a half hours) before Proud Mode shows up, because yeah, as far as I can tell, it's not active right now.

Well, there is this thing called cost :/ So I can't exactly equip a full 6 star deck. So until I get more cost I've put my evolving on hold.

I'm very suspicious about the Proud Mode update just because their track record of "Get it now!" when nothing is available is really bad.
I'll put the post on the KHInsider Facebook at 9PM (when the day rolls over for me) either way, but it's best to wait to see when it launches because they can sniff out false info in a second

I'm gonna be honest, it took me way too long to figure out what the connection was between Quest 200 and the Broom medals. Now that I think about it, I did think that was a little random for them to do that. More players having the Power Bangle would make introducing the Brooms that much bigger of a deal

Actually, with the current schedule ENG would reach the ending in December, either first or second update (depends on what JP gets this week).

You know, I've kept myself mostly oblivious from the JPN version, so it never bothered me that much that we don't get the stuff they do. But if these motherdiddlyers deliberatly slow down the story update because stupid reasons (most likely money, diddlying bastards <.<), I get really mad. Sure, I enjoy KHuX, but I'm still here for the story. So they better make us catch up by December, or I'm going to be very mad, very sad and very dissapointed at the same time.

M&Brooms is a Medal which raises your 'dots' without having to fuse it with the same medal.

Ah~ Now I understand its use. I was having doubts myself, too. Haha. xD But yeah, let's say you want to raise the "dots" of the Aqua medal, it'd be pretty hard to come by with another medal such as that... @_@

Yeah so what? They make everything harder, it shouldn't be a surprise at all to anybody if the Brooms cost 60000Jewels.
They should just include them, it's getting annoying that they try to avoid them.
I've been trying to come up with a reason why they wouldn't follow JP almost to a T. What regional/localization issues would they have had that made them want to change it so much?
What benefit did they find in crippling parts of the game for the sake of money? I mean, I know money is money, but it seems like people willingly spend money in JP when they find it necessary. If you don't spend money in NA, you'll get by just by a little (or at least, that's how I felt. Most of my important medals are still farmable) I had to pass up so many deals and offers knowing that it wasn't worth it. I saved up for months all just so that I could roll an Aqua and I still had to spend a little money.
Are the people on the NA server more desperate or willing to spend money, so they take advantage of its players? Is the mobile JP market so competitive that they have to be super nice to keep people playing?
I just... want a reason why they couldn't have followed JP's feature release schedule and slightly sped it up so that NA could catch up at a reasonable pace.

Back in September 2015, KHUX released in Japan. Of course, I just couldn't wait for the English Version, so I downloaded the game as fast as I could.
Ux welcomed me in a friendly way. When the Servers were down, they gave everyone Jewels as compensation. Whenever anything bad happens, they try to satisfy the Players in a kind way.
April 2016, the NA Version got released. I was happy, I thought I could finally play through the game while still having fun and understanding the Story!
You can laugh. It's funny.
The differences between the Versions are quite huge, if you ask me.
Let's talk about the Daily Login Bonus.
On JP, You can get up to 900 Jewels within 5 days of logging in straight.(100 - 100 - 200 - 200 - 300)
You can also complete the Daily Jewel Quests, where you get 200J every day. They even give 500J every 50 days of login!
"So, where's the problem?", you ask.
You see, on NA, there are no Daily Jewel Quests. They only appear once in a while as an Event.
The Daily Login Bonuses were halved. All you can get within 5 days of logging in are 500 Jewels.
(50 - 50 - 100 - 100 - 200).
That's 400 Jewels less than JP, and that's a huge difference.
Let's talk about artificial difficulty now.
You can complete 3 objectives per Quest.
They changed nearly all the "Defeat Target Enemy in 1 Turn"-Objectives to "Defeat all enemies in 1 turn".
thats not even all, but i have to stop right here, it is so painful

Oh, I always wondered why some missions had the "Defeat the target enemy within 1 turn" quest from time to time. It kinda felt random because most missions do have the other one.
I remember the first big red flag (the challenge changes and altered Avatar Coin split definitely concerned me) being the Zootopia Medals being nerfed.
But then we have... just off the top of my head
Yuffie, Cid, Aerith Illust. being made paid Medals when they had been free
Status Bonus being exclusive to the current premium

Seriously though, it's really good to know that I am not the only one who sees these mistakes.
the only reason why i could think why they moved the main story update to next year is they want to get the filler stuff out the way first so next year we will have all main story next year

Which makes this possible delay into January absolute nonsense.
Especially considering 2.8 releases in December.
And in December, with two updates a month, NA would reach the "season one" ending for sure.
I'm actually wondering what's up with this delay as well since if the JP version does not have a delay as well, it will march even further away from the International version story content wise.

Well, we are definitely meeting her. It's gonna be really damn late with Back Cover releasing in 2.8. Skuld would most definitely be in that so she's essentially getting revealed before her official reveal in the game she is from.

I've been trying to come up with a reason why they wouldn't follow JP almost to a T. What regional/localization issues would they have had that made them want to change it so much?
What benefit did they find in crippling parts of the game for the sake of money? I mean, I know money is money, but it seems like people willingly spend money in JP when they find it necessary. If you don't spend money in NA, you'll get by just by a little (or at least, that's how I felt. Most of my important medals are still farmable) I had to pass up so many deals and offers knowing that it wasn't worth it. I saved up for months all just so that I could roll an Aqua and I still had to spend a little money.
Are the people on the NA server more desperate or willing to spend money, so they take advantage of its players? Is the mobile JP market so competitive that they have to be super nice to keep people playing?
I just... want a reason why they couldn't have followed JP's feature release schedule and slightly sped it up so that NA could catch up at a reasonable pace.
regarding JP mobile games market, yes it's kinda 'harsh' there. an IP with good fanbase would show up there and then. for example there's this anime that sell well (or long-known game title), it should have good fanbase and making smartphone game would be good for business. past few years, smartphone games in JP is exploding like crazy. there's always several games lauching every month. imagine if an IP that sold well turned into smartphone games. that means the higher chance the player would leave and play another game. they have to keep them happy or they will lose the player.
i'm watching global UX development so this is simply my small perspective. JP players are tiny compared to number of global players, thus based on this, they have to scale the difficulty. in other hand, KH has really good fanbase worldwide , plus it's english version, they didn't feel much 'threat' compared to JP. in result making them become too 'cocky' and "hey,let's make it expensive as f. we have lots cow to milk anyway" maybe if they lose big portion of players (spenders) they will started to be nicer. who knows.
Oh wow I didn't know the difference in login bonuses is that huge...? Damn, with those amounts it would actually be possible to save up the 30k to secure a premium in a reasonable time. Well that kinda really sucks.

several filler already make differences between UX and X. if we follow X chi it should be agrabah -> daybreak -> keyblade graveyard. and we still don't know whether they will add agrabah final quests this week's MT. also Castle of Dreams in october might be another filler or the real split.

that the thing master spockanort skuld didn't interact with a forteller until she meet the player and the only time she did it alone is the the ava speech right but i didn't see her in that scene in the trailer so i'm not sure if we will see skuld in back cover
Why would she not be there? We didn't see the entire crowd of players. Back Cover is meant to cover the events surrounding the "reveal of the traitor". Skuld is there when Gula reveals the words written on the final page of the Book of Prophecies to the Player as Ava confronts Luxu.

I don't get why we wouldn't when Gula provides a piece of information that Luxu doesn't. It would build dramatic tension if the scenes went back and forth from each other.

I'm a little unsure of why the English development team would send something like this out so early. We're no where near that part of the story where we can get to the Castle of Dreams, and it seems like they're just teasing.

There is no time limit. I don't think the Editorial is supposed to be a content, so why would they make a Thread?

We don't know what will appear of course, but I'm saying it is a pretty big key scene that relates not just to the traitor but the very future of the Xehanort Saga.
And Skuld, being one of the key characters of X[chi]/UX, wouldn't be left out of Back Cover just because the scenes we see her in X[chi]/UX are limited. She did plenty of things while the Player wasn't around, and plenty of what she is related to the Foretellers.

Also might I add, because of the "Defeat all Heartless in 1-turn" there are alot of double objectives, so to speak. Usually the Target Heartless is the strongest Heartless, you defeat that one in 1-turn and you can do the rest in 1-turn too. Making it not that big of a difference. But then there are quests that have a strong Heartless in it, stronger then the Targer Heartless. Invisibles for example. Usually those quests have the "Defeat all Heartless in 1-turn" objective AND the "Defeat the Invisible in 1-turn" objective. Giving us basically the same objective. Because if you can defeat the strongest Heartless in 1-turn, the rest usually isn't too hard. So is it really that bad? Do they have double objectives in the JPN version?

Regardless, I kind of agree with Tim? I think Back Cover will avoid showing the Player as much as possible. There's a whole storyline about how Gula knows that information in the first place, which would be more appropriate than watching the scene from X again in U4 graphics.

You know when the multilayer quests get put into the game there should be a feature like when your about to do a quest and you choose a friend medal, there should be something for higher level players where you can choose a friends whole other keyblade and dual wield like in KH2, but only with one other person...and there would be levels of DW'ing. It would start out in the valor level and go up to final. I just don't understand why there is an announcement in September of 2016 for things happening in January of 2017.
I get the sense this was born out of the desire to translate the JPN's Dev update for the wide English audience and let them know of coming developments (the new world, the multiplayer, etc) and giving a general ETA for these features for the English version instead of acting like it doesn't exist, just as a heads up of things to look forward to.
Personally, right now, I'm assuming the Jan 2017 thing is meant to be about the arrival of the Cinderella world and late-game story updates, and that they don't actually intend to hold off on all story updates for four months. I guess we'll find out for sure though if there are no story updates this week/during this month lol (as the next batch should be coming on Thursday) .
So is Proud mode here or not yet? Also, will you check our editorials on spelling and grammar?

I am confused, and understand the disappointment - and I'm not saying I enjoy this. I don't, it was poorly handled. But... well, gosh. how do I explain this.
Story time!
I used to work for a semi-popular app. I did. This app was designed to be a closer experience between fans of musicians where they could preorder tickets and chat with their faves and whatever. We're talking over a million people, here. All rabid fans, and some of not-very-nice musicians to begin with.
In the tech world, everything's segmented. Different groups manage different thigns, and there's almost always a divide between management, tech, and community managers. Management makes calls based on business, tech builds the platform to be functional, and community managers tend to worry about community experience. They're responsible for fielding that shit storm, and have almost no ability to do anything about it on a meaningful level. And I wouldn't be surprised if they have to handle writing the copy, and management says one thing, while the tech team says "yeah, we're not rolling that out yet, we can't."
I don't know Ux's set up, but I imagine between in house stuff, Square in Japan's team, localization AND Disney...well, it's probably not super pretty.
I feel like instead of taking too much of it personally over a poorly-written notice, we just wait and see what happens with updates.

Now that they're bringing out the Proud Mode quests they have no choice. The Brooms have to release, or they face massive backlash from the fanbase. They have got to release them soon, that's all I need to start progressing further again in terms of power levels.
Aside from that, glad they're telling us this all ahead of time. Since it appears Multiplayer will have its own quests the useage may be limited, but it'll be great for those in parties. Especially if we get cool Multiplayer Event Missions. If we can effectively dogpile on the heartless, taking down higher level ones will be much easier. And maybe there could be Party Ranks for said events, where everyone in the party gets rewarded for how high the party gets in the ranks (Like the Weekly Lux Rankings we have). More cooperation with our competition, as it were.
More than anything, communication between the staff and the community needs to be greatly improved. It's always been a bit of a struggle with the western PR but these notices have just been one problem after another.

And UX just started messing with their update schedules here in America, granted it was a weird month, but if they really do match it to Japan, then the gap makes more sense.

It just comes off as incredibly annoying because we were given 50 missions a month under the impression that they were trying to catch us up to the same point in the story as Japan. And for us to be so close but to be given a 4 month break just ruins that completely.
They will update the app but like weekly events or a raid boss but the story is what gets most people in there and without story daily user numbers are going to come crashing down.
All I meant was that I believe it is likely that they are still updating the story but they have reduced the amount of missions per month, perhaps in order to not overtake Japan - because I don't believe they can or want to do simultaneous localized updates with a live product. But who knows.
They do simultaneous localisations for Final Fantasy XIV, don't they? I don't understand how they could do that for a massive MMO but not for a small mobile title.

50 quests a month, a shit ton of EMC's with premium medals in a short amount of time, moving the guilt bangle scene to be 150 quests earlier... no doubt we were meant to reach story parity with Japan at a certain point but then we once again got fucked over.
I would have been okay with the number of quests dropping per month if it meant we were advancing at the same pace as Japan but once again the mobile game that was conceived and developed for international audience is being lead ahead by Japan

Putting aside all of the arbitrary changes they've made to the structure and gameplay, this bothers me.
I don't even mind being behind Japan a bit. I just don't understand why they wouldn't get us caught up in time for Back Cover, because we would have been able to catch up if we were still continuing at the speed we were going.
They can't assume that everyone who plays Unchained already spoiled themselves with Chi to justify this either.

At two updates a month, ENG will not reach parity with JP until the second update of February 2017. We meet Skuld in October, and reach the χ[chi] ending in December (second update, likely after Back Cover but still appropriately timed).
It would work out so well, actually, that they could reduce updates to one a month at February, and only be a single update behind JP.
This gives them time to localize the new update, ENG isn't far behind, it's a pretty simple affair.
If they change it to one update a month now, ENG will never catch up, and as far forward as the year 2019 will still be seven updates behind (assuming the story goes that long). Not even JP was ever that far behind χ[chi] (despite some filler updates some months ago), and they actually had to develop the updates. SENA just has to change it into English.
Changing the update schedule now would surely be the biggest mistake they could possible make, and it would be happening for literally no reason.

I am not surprised and I am like "ok u fcked up again sena" now that I have changed over to JPN.
Pffft somehow what used to be a nice, inoffensive little non-canon game has evolved into one of the most plot-involved and polarizing titles to date.

Yeah sure, I own being over hopeful on that. I can't fathom why they'd set it back this much, even with a delay for 2.8. I know that someone made that call and has a reason, but I can't think of one other than possibilities that were mentioned

The 0 AP Event is nice. It happens quite frequently, so no complaints there. I just hope they will give us a cool event to go along with it, and not just a Avatar Board...
Ironically they also said we can use the 0 AP Event to catch up to the Story Quests. But since the last 0 AP Event they haven't released alot of Story Quests, meaning not alot of people would need to catch up. Sometimes I wonder if they even know what they are doing.

Well they obviously do it for the money. What I don't get is how they gain money from delaying Story Quests. Brooms I can understand, force people to buy more Jewels to draw more Medals to fully Guilt a Medal. But Story Quests aren't directly related to Jewels, so what do they gain from this? If anything, it would have to opposite effect because people stopped playing.
We're finally meeting Skuld next month, and I'm suspicious why they included CoD in that notice considering how many story quests are between meeting her and going off to that world.

Maybe they'll start shotgunning out the Story Quests in rapid succession again to play catch-up? Story foes aside from Bosses are in some ways falling behind the levels of Event Quest foes, so with Proud Quests coming I wouldn't be surprised if they accelerated the schedule a bit after Skuld pops up. It won't be "get Castle of Dreams in January" fast, heck no, but we could see it by May if they up it to 50 or so Story Quests per month. Though that's just a guess, not sure of the exact numbers the CoD quests have. is it 700-something or higher than that?

I guess it could be possible to have CoD in NAUx by around February/March if they kick it back up to 50 quests per month.
Castle of Dreams starts on quest 586 in JPUx, Skuld is introduced quest 536, and the second Foreteller boss fight is on quest 555.

The weird thing is, they just had the perfect opportunity to play catch up. We could have had an extra 100 quests by this point, putting us at around 625. I'm not sure what Japan is up to, and I don't think it's up to 625, but they could have changed the story schedule to match Japan when we reached that point.

It's clearly to get the regular players interested in the upcoming world, but like many of their notices it's written in such a way it can easily be accepted that January features both Skuld and Castle of Dreams.
