According to gamenohanashi, the cutscene theater of KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days in KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX will run for 2 hours and 50 minutes! The music tracks for 358/2 Days have also been rearranged and replaced with live instruments, all supervised by series composer Yoko Shimomura. This will definitely be a treat for fans to listen to as they watch the updated cutscenes when the game releases March 14th 2013 in Japan. All of this information is featured in this week's issue of Famitsu.

The main story has been made into footage, in which there are about 100 cutscenes. Now that we've added voice recordings, we're able to express a range of emotions that were difficult to convey only in text. It makes me want to sit down and just watch it because it's about 2 hours and 50 minutes long in total. I didn't think I would be involved with the series for so long. I want to make a Kingdom Hearts game that is loved by fans for the future and even in the next 10 years.

Two and a half hours is a fantastic run time. I really hope the story is more cohesive and overall a better experience this way. :3
Words cannot express how excited i am for this. In spite of the crappy gameplay, 358 2 days had the best story in the series, as it was entirely character based. Its going to be like watching a kh movie.

Probably the journal entries of the original Days pepped up a bit, although I would certainly not mind a detailed character index with neat info on all the characters. However this would fit better in the second HD collection when all characters are finally introduced, including all the ones from BBS and (possibly) DDD, so I'm going with the premise of it being a sort of expanded character section of the journal in Days.

Yeah, but i feel that much time is needed to tell the story. I kind of hope we get more scenes from Riku, Namine, DiZ and Mickey.
I'd definitely love a detailed character index for all characters in the KH 1.5 ReMix. They could then expand on them in KH 2.5 ReMix.
I doubt we'll ever learn how old the other characters are such as Axel.

I am actually really looking forward to the first KH movie. Even if they decide not to bring the game to NA at least I can always download the Cutscenes cause someone will prob put all the cutscenes into a movie. I'm being optimistic about the NA release but if not they should think about making the 358 into a real movie for the other regions. I also love the music that played in the final battle with Roxas and Xion (so sad :frown:) I have it on my phone but its right from the game on DS so it sounds pretty crappy so it will be nice to hear a remake to the music.

Yeah, if it doesn't flow it would be quite a turn off to a causal fan, I'd even find it a little trouble some. But if it's 2h 50 min I'm guessing they at least made them into fluent volumes. I can't wait to find out what made the cut.

Yes my 5.1 DD soundtrack has been confirmed! Another thing off my checklist. Now all I need is 1080p resolution and 720p 3D

Wow, that's a little bit more than I thought that they had. I'm hoping that the PS4 has backwards compatability, because I have a 360, and with the rumours I have been hearing about the next gen xbox, I'm probably going to switch to PS4.
I'm really hoping it is as well -__- Because my PS3 isn't backwards compatible, I've had to keep my PS2 hooked in for ages (and something tells me it'll go soon). I would really hate it if I had to end up keeping my PS3 hooked up forever to play this O_O Especially since it is coming out towards the end of the PS3's lifespan, it would hurt sales if people knew they weren't going to be able to play it on the next gen system if they are on the fence about it.

Sony has really been pushing 3D in this current gen. Most HD remasters have a stereo 3D option. I kinda would like to play my KH game in 3D, it gives me another reason to commit 20-24 more hours replaying this game. And IMHO there is many things made to warrant a replay, but seeing it in 3D is just:biggrin:.
I guess I just hate 3D too much to really see the appeal in it. Also because it gives me headaches with or without my glasses on. I hope it has it, though. It'd be another selling point.

It does have backwards compatiably, the older first models do. You can get them on Amazon or Game Stop, it's not that hard.

It took me 5 years to get a PS3, so I'm not getting a older model and selling my newer model and pulling a Unknown. You werethe one proposing first to Adrian importing an older PS3 because it has "backwards compatibility", which we already identified as being useless because it only allows to play a select few PS2 games.

Not many people being pleased is actually an understatement, as I remember the very first PS3 having very bad sales in Germany while PS2 was still thriving.
I didn't follow the several producers for several times, as I always decide which on console I want based on the games that interest me, never the brand name or hardware specs. After my first Console, a Super Nintendo, I never had any other game console until the PS2.

I'm right now grinning here because this post shows that you completely missed my (and Adrian's) point.
You werethe one proposing first to Adrian importing an older PS3 because it has "backwards compatibility", which we already identified as being useless because it only allows to play a select few PS2 games.
No one said a thing about what you should do or not.
If you can "play" with only 50% of your check you're then even more lucky than me because I have actually less, so there's no need to present your expenses to me because I already have a vast bunch of my own.
That last sentence almost borders on patronizing, so I won't even comment on that one.
But I concur, this is getting way too much off-topic.

Xigbar became my favorite character after playing bbs and 358 2 days. He really shined in those games, going from a minor villain in kh2, to becoming a major villain in bbs, and finally taking his place as one of the main villains in kh ddd.

lol Is it just me that doesn't really like Xigbar -_- I mean I don't mind him and I'll admit whoever first thought of his lines is pretty witty, but they just seemed like too much to me. Xigbar started to piss me off in Days after he could rarely be direct and always had to make something witty out of nothing haha xP
That's why when BbS came out, solidifying Braig as one of the more main villains, and getting to beat up on him as Aqua...makes me want to play BbS again right now lol xP

Well he's supposed to be antagonizing and he's deliberately annoying. I personally love it and think he has one of the better dialogues of the KH characters.
Is it announced that HD 358/2 Days will actually feel like a movie? For all we know, it could be choppy as hell yet all I'm seeing is people saying "yay, finally, a Kingdom Hearts movie!".
Not trying to be pessimistic though but I'm just wondering if we really know for sure that it is gonna feel like a movie. It would be the most logical thing to do but you never know.

I will agree that he has great dialogue, but I can't help but have this feeling that it was a bit overdone to the point where I hated him lol xP Maybe that was the point all along, you always want to have a likable hero and a hate-able villain.

He's the definition of a troll, and unlike Xehanort himself or Vanitas, who are near-sadists, with him you can say "you're such an asshole" and laugh at the same time.

Indeed, finding his lines funny does not mean that you have to forget that he's an antagonist.

Yeah, I'd still like a collection of his lines though, maybe after KH1.5 is released someone will make a video that includes his best lines.

I think that can also be quite a fun type of character.
Sadly I don't really know the character, but from what I've seen in Dissidia, he could be quite a fun character.
