Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 has just been unvealed at the Sony Pre-TGS conference, and the official website has been released! Confirming Dream Drop Distance HD, X Back Cover, and Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep 0.2, the game will be coming to PS4 in 2016.

I still think 2.9 is very much a thing with the other remixes with it. And perhaps a prologue to KH3 of sorts.

Geehee, looks like my initial predictions were at least 80% on the spot, especially concerning the "KH III demo" not being included.
So, since x[chi] is the "movie" of this remaster set I guess that means BBS 0.2 "Fragmentary Passage" is an actual playable game?
Oh, and by the way, with this title named 0.2 I'd say the "inofficial" title of BBS being KH 0 has been made more or less official.

On a side note though, with all this 1.5, 2.5, 2.8, 0.2 numbers, it is again Nomura being sneaky that all these decimal numbers added together result exactly in the number 7.

Since 2.9 was also confirmed as a PS3 game I think it's probably just a collection of the first HD ReMixes for the PS3 and 2.8 for the PS4.

Since 2.9 was also confirmed as a PS3 game I think it's probably just a collection of the first HD ReMixes for the PS3 and 2.8 for the PS4.
Very possible. Would just be a shame to waste the opportunity to port the remixes to the PS4.

Yeah...given they could have easy done 2.9 to go straight into 3, I do expect a KH2.9 to be released with probably everything. I just really hope that they don't include any extra goodies since I'd rather not buy the game all over again just for a small thing but oh well.
Is it sad that my biggest hype when seeing that 0.2 was included was the potential for some Aqua merchandise? I know like 1.5 and 2.5 there will have to be a collector's edition, PLEASE LORD JUST GIVE ME AN AQUA FIGURE! THAT IS ALL I WANT OUT OF LIFE!!! That and maybe a PS4 so that I can play this and KH3...and electricity to run those things...but that's it!
EDIT: I just realized, I hope they release and LE KH PS4 for this game cause I'll be very much annoyed if they make an LE PS4 for KH3 despite many people buying a PS4 for this :(

I think this definitely means that KH 3 won't be out until 2017. 2016 will be FF 15 and 2017 will be KH 3.

I ironically if they make 2.9 they'll probably call it "Complete Chapter Prologue Collection with Final Chapter Prologue" KEEP ADDING THOSE ADDENDUMS!!!

Seeing the [chi] station of awakening in 3D is really cool, I'm wondering if Back Cover and 0.2 will be linked somehow.

Also just realized that this game only says PS4 on the website and not Xbox One? I know that the other remixes haven't been on Xbox One but given this one has new material, IDK, I just figured maybe it would be, but nope. Sorry Microsoft fan's, NO GLORIOUS AQUA HD PS4 FOR YOU!

I had no idea that they were using the touch pad. If so that makes sense and I'm all for that! Although you could get through DDD pretty easily without the stylus mechanics I thought they were gonna nix that (kind of like how they nixed multiplayer in Bbs since it wasn't absolutely necessary). I'll buy it!

I know why they changed 2.9 to 2.8 because there is BBS 0.2 here. 2.8+0.2 = 3. Which is make sense. It would be odd for them to give 0.1 subtitle for BBS Volume 2.

This is crazy. I was not expecting another 2 game + movie package. BBS 0.2 is going to be playable which means we're going to get to experience the Unreal Engine 4 visual style and gameplay before KH3! That'll give us time to get used to the new look and feel of it all before diving into KH3. The transition will be less jarring, which is great. I was worried about that, having to get used to the shock of the new style upon booting up KH3 for the first time, but this should remedy that.
Also, the shot of Aqua must be SO SUPER EARLY. Anyone else suspect the Realm of Darkness might just be a 2d painting with some after effects on it?
Definitely. That background was a pre-rendered 2D image with some effects. Obviously something they whipped together to add to the trailer.

There is also "the lost page" from the trailer. Obviously the master of the Foretellers doesn't want them to know everything.

Joshua was speaking of one world being split though, not of "the worlds" in plural.
Although if it is the same line in japanese, I recall during DDD itself that when Joshua was explaining this to Sora it was exactly the time as Young Xehanort removed his hood and the camera was focused on him.
So this would mean nothing new but rather a scene from DDD HD that was shown in the trailer.

I was probably a little off because Zephyr's translation was worded differently and I can't go by audio since I'm right now on a computer without audio, lol.
KH chi is not playable guys it'll be a movie compilation that sets up the games premise. And this is not BBS 2 it's a remastered version of the playable episode in BBS final mix

This makes no sense as we had the playable episode of BBS Final Mix (which is called Secret Episode by the way) already in the 2.5 HD Remix.
It is confirmed that BBS 0.2 (not 2) will be something completely new based on the "Fragmentary Passage" secret ending.

I don't think anyone here thought the Chi Back Cover would be playable when it very clearly says that it's a movie, but no, 0.2 is not a remaster of Secret Episode. It's a new chapter that takes place after the events of BBS and further ties the story in with KH3.

Now that you mention it. If there was any a good time to make at least an Aqua figure for the Play Arts Kai line if not the entire BBS trio now would certainly be it since BBS V2 is going to be in 2.8 and it'll further make the hype go up because of it. At this point there's no reason not to.
It seems as though Square Enix understands that Aqua is arguable the favourite out of the BBS trio. She's a perfectly strong female character that has used the most common sense in Birth by Sleep. I'm glad to know that her situation isn't as dark as we may have imagined it to be.

That has hardly anything to do with favoritism I'd say.
Out of the three, Aqua is simply the only one who can still act in one way or another as Ventus is practically the equivalent of a heavily injured coma patient while Terra is more or less a prisoner.

I'd rather not repeat a battle. Plus since the episode is only like an hour long, I think they'd want to save their attention-getter for the end, to leave on a strong note (much like they did with the Secret Episode to begin with)
