Today, Square Enix listed two new Keyblade keychains in their line of merchandise, this time focused on Kingdom Hearts III. The Keychains show Sora's new key, Shooting Star as well as Riku's new key which we now know is called "Braveheart." 

 

 

Both keychains are made with Nickel-plated zinc alloy. Dimensions are about W 1.35" x D 0.4" x H 6.4". Chain length is  approximately 2.5"

Both Keychains are set to release in January and are listed at $19.99 a piece, but you can preorder them both from the Square Enix store at 10% off right now

Why Sora?
Braveheart is Riku's new Keyblade.

Sora's is called "Shooting Star" (how creative).

Why Sora?

I jumped to conclusions. William is the main character and so is Sora. However, Riku was supposed to originally inherit the Kingdom Key, and Riku wielding Braveheart foreshadows William's and possibly his own fate.

Oh gee first I buy Way to Dawn key chain, now there's his new keyblade Braveheart.
$20?! I got my Way to Dawn key chain for $7 (well... it's been out for awhile).
All depends on if I earn some more money, I'm saving my dough for deluxe edition first.

If Riku's Keyblade has an official name...then does that mean Riku will be the game's other playable character after all? Or just a party member? Because practically every Keyblade name we know tends to be revealed in the games' weapon inventories, and any other weapon is simply called "[insert owner's name here]'s Keyblade" in official materials. And...look, I love Riku, but he's had his spotlight in playable game modes.
