Last month we reported that Utada Hikaru's seventh album "Hatsukoi" will be released June 27th, and will feature the Japanese theme for Kingdom Hearts III "Chikai"or "Oath." Now Hikki has uploaded a slightly longer clip of the song!

 

The clip, which you can listen to here under track 4, is 43 seconds long and features a previously unheard section of the song.

This song just might take over "Anata" as my current favorite of the album, I really love the added backing vocals and the strings just carry the track.

Also the sample for "Good Night" is awesome, the melody is so catchy and I just know this one will be on loop for a while.

I can not wait for this album. And we still have one more single to go in a week! Utada fans are lucky to be alive right now. :'D

Really? I never got that impression based on a few of the lyrics, lol.

From translations of the song, she mentions wearing "rings of the same color" and not needing flowers or blessings. So far, the English version is more vague about the theme (which was true of S&C and Sanctuary) but it's pretty clear from what we have in Chikai.

Lyrics for "Don't think Twice" not "Oath". Should have clarified a bit more.

The English lyrics are always watered down. I wish there was an option to use Japanese vocals in the US versions of KH. It's ironic that the song is about a wedding when she just go divorced.
