Tetsuya Nomura to attend New York Comic Con 2014!

New York Comic Con 2014 starts today and many people are eager to find all out of the latest comic, television, movie, and animation news while they are there. As we found out two weeks ago, Kingdom Hearts series director Tetsuya Nomura will be at New York Comic Con! Lucky fans who, starting today, buy qualifying Play Arts Kai figures at the Square Enix booth (#1813) will receive a ticket to get an autograph from Nomura on the 10th or 11th.
Tickets for the autograph session are first come, first serve and no personal items will be allowed to be signed.
Nomura also mentioned that he has been working on a few projects besides Kingdom Hearts III in his latest interview with Famitsu, one of which was finally revealed today! This collaboration between Tetsuya Nomura and Hatsune Miku, the popular Vocaloid virtual idol created by Crypton Future Media, is one of the many works being shown off at the "Hatsune Miku Art Exhibition Universal Positivity" gallery event currently running at New York City's Wallplay event space from today until October 19th as a part of this year's Hatsune Miku Expo.
Square Enix's Visual Works department also made a gorgeous CG video to commemorate the event.

Holy crap. That CG model is ridiculously realistic looking, especially in those closeups. I wonder if we'll ever get to the point in graphics where we can't tell the difference in a side by side comparison between reality and gaming. At first glance I thought that thumbnail of the eye was a music video or something.
Anyway, I'm excited for NYCC. Hopefully some news comes out of it, but if there's nothing but that new trailer and autograph signing on the KH front, that's cool.
Yeah! It's gorgeous! I want to see more of this quality of work from Visual Works on KH3. ;~;
We certainly are there with that level of realism. It's just really expensive and time consuming to get that detailed and to try and make something that doesn't suffer from uncanny valley.
I don't know if we'll get anything, but I'm always holding out hope for a 2.5 CE announcement.
can't wait to go this weekend I have a 4-day pass but only going fri-sun hopefully i can get a figure and autograph!

I'll be there Sunday. Usually go Saturday, but for some reason those tickets sold out a few hours after they first went on sale. That never happened before. So, looks like I'll miss out -_-
I am not going today, only Friday-Sunday but my friend is in line right now and updating me.
- No photos or video are allowed of Nomura (obviously lol if he won't allow a video of his face when he is drawing Sora, there is no way a fan can put one online ^_^)
- He is ONLY signing Friday and Saturday at designated times
- He is ONLY signing that postcard (sad since the SDCC was Kingdom Hearts related but meeting him without an autograph would be enough for me lol)
I don't know what constitutes an "eligible figure" to get a ticket, but I don't expect these tickets to make it past today. My friend didn't know what it was (he's not a Kingdom Hearts fan) so he asked a few people and it seems a lot of people in attendance today know about it >_< I would highly recommend anyone going tomorrow arrive EXTREMELY early (like hours before it opens) in case any tickets are left to get the last few :)
His appearance at SDCC was for his new Batman Variant PAK, not anything related to KH.

If anybody dares to do this to him, He'll turn them into NPC characters for his KH&TWEWY creation and never be seen or heard from now on.

Okay, in all honesty, if taking a photo of him meant him putting you into the world of Kingdom Hearts, it was nice meeting you guys, but I'm bout to get my camera ready lol
On a side note, my friend was successfully able to get a ticket for the signing tomorrow. He got it recently so it appears they are still on Friday tickets (not Saturday yet), so if anyone is there or knows someone who is there, it's possible there is still a chance to meet him within the next 2 days ^_^

I guess I've to add these into my to-do list... awesome design.
Why does Nomura make other characters from the gaming companies look so indescribable prettier and awesome?
I'm expecting Nomura to do his take-on version of Nintendo's characters.
It's weird how a DC Comics character redesigned by a Final Fantasy artist looks like something out of Metal Gear Rising.
I kinda like this one. His take on Batman was way over the top with all the spikes on top of even more spikes and then some. Wasn't a fan of that.

Me want more Nomura designs! I want to see what his design for Alfred would be. XD
UPDATE: I am at NYCC waiting to meet Nomura and there are still A LOT of spots open to meet him later today and tomorrow. You have to buy a PAK figure to meet him and that's about $80 minimum <_<
- If you buy a Batman PAK, you get the Catwoman postcard
- If you buy any other PAK, you get to choose between Hatsune Miku and FF7 Cloud postcards
there are no eligible KH items and because Sora and Roxas KH2 PAK haven't come out yet, there are no KH postcards. No photos or videos with Nomura, no personal items signed. We'll see how the event goes :)
