Square Enix have released a set of new screenshots from the upcoming Kingdom Hearts III Re Mind DLC release to commemorate the trailer that was officially released earlier today during PlayStation's State of Play live stream.

I REALLY wasn’t expecting Cid to have such a pretty face. Thinking about it, I don’t know if we’ve ever seen him in KH with a HQ animated face. He always had the fish face, iirc.

And that means Roxas probably gets a shotlock too!

Now that Leon is back I do hope Rinoa gets a mention, even if it isnt by name. I hope Aerith mentions Cloud as well since I doubt he will appear

Wait, it could still be stand in footage, right?! Remember, every time we saw Roxas' "gameplay", it only featured the three moves he had as a party member. I can't imagine a functional first player experience that would be so unnecessarily limited. My theory is that: since Roxas didn't have any base gameplay already created the way that Riku and Aqua did, they're having to start almost from scratch with him. Then again, Kairi's looks pretty complete, so maybe they just got lazy (wouldn't surprise me).

Yeah it’ll be weird if Roxas is left as the only playable character in these fights with no shotlock. Maybe he’ll have a situation command to make up for it or something.

It'd seriously suck if they cut corners with Roxas and no one else. Especially since it was one of the few things I was legitimately looking forward to. Still, this is why I keep my expectations low I guess *shrug*

Cid confirmed. The RG cast look really nice. Like seeing Yuffie looking mischievous. If Sora doesn't interact with them then I don't see a reason to bring up Cloud, sadly. Riku doesn't know him or his story, but it could still happen.

So Aerith, Leon, Yuffie, and Cid are finally back, really digging the new renders.

Also, does anyone notice that Yuffie has Violet/Purple Eyes right now (unless I'm the one having a Mandela effect). But it's more vibrant compared to her render and appearance back in Kingdom Hearts II. I could've sworn her eyes were brown or black in KH2 and KH1.

That's the Power of the Unreal Engine 4 for you. At least we won't have to worry on anymore Fish Face expressions of the characters as shown from the Hercules characters, the Winnie the Pooh characters, Jiminy Cricket, Maleficent, Pete, among others where they had more expression and look much more animated than in past games.

Unless Nomura remembers KH2's ending, then I don't think he'll mention her. But since FFVIII got recently remastered, it's possible. Same goes for Aerith mentioning Cloud, but that's more probable because the FFVII Remake is on the horizon.
