FYI it outsold FF XV in it's first week. Be prepared for them to start putting A LOT more focus on KH series from this point onward.

It's the highest selling game of the series and for SE their most successful launch in a LONG time.

All because of the leaks. As if that would affect the general consumer.

As if Nomura needed more reasons to throw shade at FF15.

Please shower us in DLC. MAKE THIS GAME A 10.

For real, I hope this means more KH3 content. I don't usually beg for DLC stuff but Riku's stuff is begging to be made into its own extended segment and there are so many QOL improvements to be made and like more enemies, Keyblades, Links, Attractions, implement Wardrobe into KH3 for the Vine, more costumes in general, more bosses, Critical Mode, more cutscenes, Boss Portals, a function for Gummi Ship Blueprint sharing, and like...so much stuff...

Give it all please, it's only been a week and we are all thirsty for more again haha

It's officially the highestt selling launch for SE for a long time until FF 7 Remake comes out but that doesn't count as it's not an original title, it's a remake.

They're so gonna put more focus on this franchise going forward. It's time for Disney to wake up and see the goldmine they have with those sales numbers especially.

Don't make us wait too long for KH4 though. Not with those numbers.

Thank God. Maybe SE can afford to stock Remy’s restaurant themselves from now on!

Seriously though, it makes me really happy to see the franchise doing so well in its first full-fledged outing on modern consoles. The series should definitely have an exciting future and I hope this prompts some DLC/QoL updates for this game.

Also... all those posts claiming KH3 would NEVER surpass KH2 sales didn’t age well. Js. :p

“This game isn’t going to sell at all because of the leaks!”

”one million in a month is the most likely scenario for this game, anything higher is unlikely”

”Resident Evil 2 is on PC and will sell millions and millions more because it’s also not as niche”

man, I’m so happy they shipped 5 million copies. Because of digital, we know that they have sold a lot of copies of the game. And for this to all come in after a week is just wonderful. I hope Osaka are happy and get a well deserved break.

Based off of this, would anyone have a guess as to how long were gonna have to wait for the next game?
There's not much of a correlation between the two. I suppose it could delay the next game a bit if S-E requests they make a lot of DLC to meet the demand though. But it selling well won't really make the next game happen faster really. In general they don't delay much between starting work on the next kh games.

I think you'd be shocked if you knew how much Disney likes Kingdom Hearts and how difficult it is for them to do whatever they want with the property.

100% agreed. Not to mention, our two new Keybladers could use some extension as well. That'd be so perfect.
