Fans down under will see the standard PG logo on Kingdom Hearts III come January 29th 2019. The Australian Classification Board released their rating of Kingdom Hearts III on November 5th 2018 which confirms that the Australian version will not have any censorship from the Japanese version.

Kingdom Hearts III was given a PG rating for "Mild themes and fantasy violence." This differs from the ESRB rating that was recently used in front of the Tangled trailer. The ESRB rated Kingdom Hearts III E10+ for "Alcohol Reference and Fantasy Violence." We will release another article when the ESRB website updates with a description of Kingdom Hearts III.

For those wondering, if KHIII was censored then it would say "MODIFIED" next to "Version", just like it does with KH 2.5 which contains the censored KHII version.

It shouldn't be.

It's also worth noting that this is the second time it has been rated as "mild themes and fantasy violence," after Kingdom Hearts 2.8. All other KH games have just been "mild fantasy violence" (except for KHI which was "low level animated violence." We sure are in for a wild ride this time around 8D

Also people are getting confused with the censorship thing. So many social media responses have been around Donald being able to swear, pornography being in the game, etc. All it means is we won't get a KH2 situation where combat elements such as blood won't be removed and cutscenes / weapons won't be altered.

I think that's a fair assessment. "Very mild impact" for existentialist themes, and "mild impact" for violence in a series where Axel murdered Vexen as he was pleading for his life, and we already know Pirates of the Caribbean is in this game and it would probably boost "themes" and violence.

Thats great. I want to play it as closely to the original Japanese version as possible, so this is good news. That’s interesting about the description. It’s good to know it earned a more intense description than KH2, BBS, and DDD. I’m ready to have my heart ripped from chest. Lmao.

It's pretty nice to know that we probably won't get guns and things like that removed from this one. Also interesting to see that "themes" are apparently more intense in this game than previous ones. Makes me wonder what kind of themes they're talking about since that's such a vague term.
