VGO Concert Summary
Kingdom Hearts Songs – The dearly beloved was simply amazing. They added the choir for parts of it and there was like an energy that was going around the hall because it was Kingdom Hearts. Me and a bunch of people around me we getting the chills hearing it so beautifully played. I think I almost cried in fact. Then when they switched over to Hikari, it was truly magical. I honestly thought it was one of the best pieces of the whole show and it did indeed get the most applause. And after the song Yoko looked so happy. She was asked to stand up and literally everyone was applauding her. During intermission so many people were trying to go and see her, like she had two escorts just so she could go to the bathroom. I remember flipping out when she walked right passed me.
Final Fantasy – First of all, to my surprise, they played a lot of FF songs, particularly FF7. I got to say they did a really awesome job with it. Specifically One Winged Angel. So it was the Advent Children version, with guitar solo, choir and everything. We were all just screaming “Sephiroth” every time we got to that part. I could literally imagine Sephiroth and Cloud fighting from the movie, it was that good.
VIP Meet and Greet – So this part was after the show. So we all were like in the main lobby/lounge and there were all the composers just standing there at individual tables as we all lined up to see them. So after waiting in line I finally got to see her. I talked to her in Japanese a little but she also had a translator with her as well to help out. She was really sweet and was very thankful to have so many fans of her work. She laughed when she saw all of the soundtracks with me, she was like “Oh, you have the big one”, she’s so cute. Lastly she signed all of the KH soundtracks I brought and I took a few photos with her. Also on another funny note, so the guy after me brought the Mark of Mastery box, and when she saw it she was like “I’ve never seen this one before”, looking at it with such confusion. She was also interested on the nice KH 3DS cases that everybody had with them also to get signed. She thought they were really cool.
So that was my experience. It was a really great show and I had so much fun (I’m like still in shock I meet Yoko). Overall it actually was way over my expectations so I’m really glad I got to go. Also gelandpron, that was a really good video, much better than anything I had.
I'll try to post more pics soon.
