The need to be observed and judged is part of a human's desire for hierarchal constructs. Other sentiments are secondary. The desire to worship is wired into the very genes of being human. Soon, we will have an omnipresent observer in the form of A.I., fulfilling the roles the gods once held. Maybe it's already happened.
