KH PC BROWSER
♪Dearly Beloved -Reprise-
・A promo vid almost entirely in text. Inserted into the flow of text here and there were screens of the opening movie from KH2, the secret endings ‘Gathering’, and ‘Birth by Sleep’.
The voicing was in English, with Japanese subtitles displayed. I’m sure it’s the same as the outline but I recorded the whole thing in case.
“Far, far away, in a fairy-tale realm...
The realm was filled with light.
That light gave birth to many worlds, enveloping them.
The source of the light, Kingdom Hearts, and the key that protected it, the χblade...
As long as they existed, it was believed that the realm would be in eternal light.
However, just as strong light will form a shadow, darkness was born.
The darkness called up fear, unease and craving.
Darkness, hidden deep in hearts, began to spread throughout the realm as chaos.
In order to drive back the spreading darkness, those who wished for light created Keyblades in imitation of the χblade, and embarked on adventures that spanned the realm.”

Exploring Wonderland, Alice and the Cheshire Cat are confirmed.
The way to open treasure chests follows the current trend of throwing the Keyblade and then tapping it. I feel quite sorry for the treasure chests!
As for the screens of battle, there is a fight using the power of a card that has been drawn to confront (?) one enemy Shadow, sort of thing.
By the way, the player used a Limit Form Sora card. It used a Ragnarok-type technique.
Also, I was interested to see a treasure chest behind the Shadow. Field encounter style?

It was basically a long succession of famous scenes and elements.

KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2Days
I have seen the movie! As for the ‘fully remade cutscenes’ from Days, they were the real-time polygons used in the cutscenes in Days, I think perhaps prerendered. The scene is on top of the clock tower, with Axel, Roxas and Xion, and the dialogue is as follows:
“358/2 Theatre Compilation” appears over a black background, with just voices:
Axel: Oh yeah!
Roxas: What’s with you? Out of the blue like that...
HA polygon cutscene plays, the three on top of the clock tower
Axel: (looking at the two standing to his left) Next vacation, how about we go to the beach?
Xion: The beach? Where is this coming from all of a sudden...
Axel: It’s nice to have some fun together once in a while, right?
Xion: (clasping her hands to her chest) I wonder... if I’ll be able to go?
Roxas: What are you even saying, Xion.
Axel: (spreading his hands) We’ll have a blast! Xion!
Xion: (eyes wandering a little, sounding lost) ...I guess.
Right after that, she looks at the two of them and says “Let’s go,” with a little smile on her face.
~After fishing for a comparison vid, I think Xion is still voiced by Risa Uchida. (If it turns out it has been changed, I am sorry.) They have voiced cutscenes that were only speech bubbles in Days and given them pretty videos, it sure is a nice new way to see things. I feel like it completely immersed me in that world. And Xion’s expressions are so cute! ...And yet at the same time, heartbreaking.KINGDOM HEARTS for PC Browser
KH Browser is in 2D Theatrythm (looking) graphics (~: Character design is not actually by Monster Octopus), the sprites feel perhaps 2.5~3 heads high rather than 2. You can probably choose and customise your own character. In Alice’s world, there was jumping on mushrooms to get higher, opening chests with a Keyblade, and card battle? sort of things. The HP gauge curls around the character’s face, just like in KH. It looked like it had a lot of action considering it was a browser game. I can’t wait to find out what sort of gameplay this game will have.

Should we expect that fans are brought into the Keyblade War!? In this work, all players, can become owners of the Keyblade. Earlier in "BEFORE CRISIS: FINAL FANTASY VII", Square Enix provided us with a game where everyone can become Turks; I didn't expect this.
By the way, it seems to be firmly confirmed that Disney characters will appear. A video showed "Alice in Wonderland" had appeared on the screen. What other Disney characters will appear? To be honest, I was really anxious.
Furthermore there is one more new work, for the Playstation 3, "KINGDOM HEARTS -HD I.5 ReMIX-". There will be HD versions of "KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX" and "KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories", and there will be HD versions of cuscenes summarizing "KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days" to enjoy.
Also in the HD version of "KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX", it will include Japanese voice acting. Please enjoy the additional cutscene of Cloud and Sephiroth that will also have Japanese voice acting. The KINGDOM HEARTS series is strong because of its story, that many people felt in the middle of the series. The release date will be in the year 2013. The title in the series means that you will be able to enjoy the storyline along the timeline, please look forward to it by all means.

Seeing as this collection is for the PS3 I'd say it's a remake. Makes sense seeing as their going in chronological order post KH1.
Yup. "The past will be reawakened as a new number in never before seen detail." I'm thinking that in 2014 they'll release a KH 2.5 ReMix with KH2 FM, and BBSFM. I don't think they're gonna remake 3D but who knows.
And yeah we're finally getting the FM's overseas it looks like.
Looking forward to how Days plays on the PS3.

It's only going to have cutscenes in HD in theater mode, the actual game won't be playable.
So really it's only KH1, re:COM and the CUTSCENES of 358/2 days.
So apparently 358/2 Days is not a game per say, but just a theater mode with the movies from the game upgraded into HD.

Thinking on it now, KH1 wouldn't have it's ASAS/DD secret ending as there is no point in it. Of course, this doesn't insure that there will be any new secret ending hinting at KH3 but one can hope.
Eeek! Please please please make an FM version for NA and bring the HD remake overseas and yay finally a Days remake, one of my favorite games, and this time hopefully the graphics won't be meh like they were on the DS (thats almost a guarantee if its gonna be on ps3)

I'm so glad Days is being remade~ I'm also glad I should finally be getting a PS3 for Christmas so it won't be an issue for on whether I can get this :)

This game BETTER be released internationally. Plus, it'd be nice to have some english lip syncing for Re:CoM and the scenes from Days if it does get a release outside of Japan.
Anyway... do you think we can expect new gameplay elements? I don't think there will be much changes to Re:CoM's gameplay, but I'm guessing that they will (hopefully) add Reaction Commands to KH, they will most likely add camera control to the second analog stick for KH. And hopefully they'll add some new goodies to both of the games. Special attacks, keyblades, cards, etc.
Even if Days only gets cutscenes, I'm still going to love this. If they release it in NA, I will die. This is what has the potential to make me get a PS3 before KH3 comes out.

Yep. It's really not all that hard. I mean sure you won't get every detail, but it's enough.
As much as everyone hates Days, it still makes no sense to have an HD collection and include Days but only actually be including the cutscenes. There were so few cutscenes that the game is so disjointed with just those alone. It's a little disappointing.
Unless they're adding new cutscenes. It would mostly confuse newcomers though but I guess it's just so people get the gist of the idea of what happens in Days and possibly spur them to but it.
I would expect updates in the battle system in KH1, but not any major changes like adding reaction commands. Of course I could be totally wrong and the battle system will be totally redone XD I just do not expect them to.

Nope, I re-watched them a while back and you really can't. It would be really bad for someone who hadn't watched the game online or played it prior to watching the scenes in the HD collection.

I'm a bit upset they went with 358/2 Days over II, but if the plan is to do things chronologically (The majority of Birth by Sleep aside), then it makes sense. Kingdom Hearts Final Mix HD in English is good enough for me, so this makes me so happy. I'm also hoping they'll release a second collection, that way the series will just be on PS3 and 3DS.

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE CoM. It was my first KH game, and it remains one of my favorites. I just really have no desire to spend a ton of money on two games I already have, when the only change is that the images are a little sharper. With Days there was at least the opportunity to significantly improve the gameplay experience by remaking it to run on the usual KH engine with analog control.

No, there's been no price announcement as far as I know. But even at $30, that's a lot of money for something I already own. For those who don't have all the games yet this is great, but I don't see a lot of incentive for people like me other than slicker visuals.

Yeah I know about those, but before those were even officially revealed I thought it was confirmed they were talking about making both Formation Arts and Play Arts of DDD? They want to do it in order of story, not creation. They probably don't have the time to remake Days. Definitely not defending this because I am also disappointed, but we didn't even think Days would be in a HD collection ever so it is something.

From what I can assume from this, Square is playing it pretty smart. Development for KHIII, as we all know, has not started. With (possibly) two HD collections being released, that will guarantee a KH release for the next two years, giving the fans and new players plenty of time to update on the the story.

Yes, ironically this is the scenario that many people have wishes for for a KINGDOM HEARTS MMO xD
While I would hope it would be localized, if it doesn't, on the bright side, unlike PS2, PS3 is region free (though there are some games that are region-locked, there is at least a chance that won't happen.)

Kingdom Hearts is first of course, and both Chain of Memories and Days take place between 1 and 2, therefore altogether they become 1.5.

Well Sony is the one with the HD remake/remaster deal. xD It'd be nice if this was Vita as well, just to make the Vita more relevant.

I don't know what to think about this.. a HD remake? That's awesome, but I'm weary about what it will look like and even if it will come to PAL territory.

Anyway... do you think we can expect new gameplay elements? I don't think there will be much changes to Re:CoM's gameplay, but I'm guessing that they will (hopefully) add Reaction Commands to KH, they will most likely add camera control to the second analog stick for KH. And hopefully they'll add some new goodies to both of the games. Special attacks, keyblades, cards, etc.

I don't think they aimed at making this set chronological. I mean, if you think about it, there will only be 2 playable games on each disc (KH/Re:Com) (2/BbS) since Days is just cutscenes. I can see why it would've been smart to do BbS/KH1 and then CoM/Days/KH2 (focusing on Organization) but I'm assuming they wanted to save the best for last or something...IDK. I'm kind of confused right now because I don't know how to feel about a FB game :/
This is awesome news! pretty bummed the remakes are PS3 exclusive though.
Seeing that this game is a PS3 exclusive I think is pretty much guaranteeing KH3's Sony-exclusivity (if that wasn't obvious) since now the Microsoft fans won't even be caught up.

Yes, but the game has only been confirmed for Japan at the moment, though it'll no doubt come to the US...in which case, when it does, it will have the Final Mix content...

Yes it is the FM version of KH1, so there will be the revised colors for Heartless, the alt secret ending, the added cutscenes, etc.

It says for the 10th anniversary, so Japan might, if they are lucky get it around Christmas time. The price thing is tentative. I doubt it will be pay-to-play. Probably special things you'd have to pay for like most social/online card game things.

I know the Re:CoM scenes are FMVs so they can't be edited, but I'd really hope they still have the files lying around somewhere so that they can actually convert it into HD without them looking shitty. Maybe then they'd finally have a chance to lip synch in the prospective English version so that they weren't so jarring to watch either.

Like, it makes a lot of sense to be calling this 1.5, including 1 and all of the games between 1 and 2.
But an equivalent for 2.5 would be something like KH2FM, DDD, and re:coded cutscenes (ie KH2 and all of the games between 2 and 3).
Yet there's no way they're making an HD DDD.

I know that Kingdom Hearts 1's cutscenes are rendered in realtime (not counting the CG stuff) you can tell because of the way the cutscenes able to tell what Keyblade you have equipped. So whatever HD up-rezing they do to the game should apply to the cutscenes as well. (With a few exceptions like the cutscene right before the Battle of 1000 Heartless, a potential HD Version of 2, Birth by Sleep and/or Dream Drop Distance should work the same way as well.)
However, unless they re-render them or have the original files of the cutscenes in 358/2 Days (Re:Coded as well), they will have to go off of what was in the DS cart which would not be ideal because those cutscenes were pre-rendered.
So I don't know about Re: Chain. On the one hand, the PS2 version (which is the one they are using) was based off of 2's engine, I think. So I would like to believe the cutscenes in the game are rendered in realtime like in 2. However, some of those were present in the original GBA version, and in that case they would be pre-rendered. Maybe it is a combo of both.
All I hope for is that the cutscenes take up the full screen. It would be weird to have a 16:9 box that doesn't take up the full screen because it was originally 4:3. It was really weird that the Ratchet & Clank Collection went from 4:3 in some cutscenes to 16:9 in others and in gameplay (or at least the first game did & that is all I saw in Giant Bomb's quick look of that).

I don't know the ins and outs of how they make these HD Collections, but there might be some technical limitation preventing them from going 1080p. I think in Jak & Daxter's case the original code was so complex that 720 was the best they could do. For sure if they can they should go 1080p.

Wow, by the looks of things, we get KH 1.5 next year, KH 2.5 (possibly) the year after that, (KH 0.5 BBS*) and KH3 after that. IF what I said is true, we can expect KH3 in 3~4 years, while being busy with the old games. Nomura can still do his 1 game per year thing, can keep us occupied.

Everyone's complaining about the lack of KH2FM. Well this is just a guess from me, but with a number like "1.5", we can expect a 2.5.
From what I can assume from this, Square is playing it pretty smart. Development for KHIII, as we all know, has not started. With (possibly) two HD collections being released, that will guarantee a KH release for the next two years, giving the fans and new players plenty of time to update on the the story.
Sure, they release all the games at once next year, KHFM through BBS, for a likely ~$60. Then what do we get the next year? Nothing. So the wait between releases is longer.
Let Square do their own thing here, I actually believe in them for once.
Versus will get coverage next year. Assuming they had gone really far into development, it could be released in 2014.
And with that, if they release the Browser game in 2014 and the 2.5 Remix in 2015 with KHIII being developed over that 2 year period.
I know the Re:CoM scenes are FMVs so they can't be edited, but I'd really hope they still have the files lying around somewhere so that they can actually convert it into HD without them looking shitty. Maybe then they'd finally have a chance to lip synch in the prospective English version so that they weren't so jarring to watch either.

A good example would be God of War, where you play its new HD version, but the cutscenes for the games are still in PS2 graphics. I honestly don't know why. I think its because its a VIDEO, and not an actual environment or w/e thats being played, and having to remake the scene in HD would mean doing it again from scratch.

I assure you 50GB isnt what it used to be. Try recording a game in native resolution without compression.

You could be right, but I doubt it, for starters, there is always a loading screen in between cutscenes, if thats the case, its probably a video. Just because it isn't CGI doesn't mean its REAL-TIME. Basically if any of the cutscenes are not real time, they're gonna need to redo it from scratch.
But I wouldn't be too worried, this is Square Enix after all, and as far as I know, they're the one of the best when it comes to graphics (FF8 on PS1, KH games and FFX~XII looked like games in the early PS3 days, and see FFXIII).
^except in KH1 and 2 there is no load screen, and it takes little time to load up the cutscenes. It doesnt mean it's video, because I use an emulator and the low res of encoded video is betrayed all the time. the PS2 cutscenes are overwhelmingly in-game. All that's loaded are high-res face models and scene-specific animations and soundbites.
BBS is different that way. There is a loading icon, but the FM english patch sped up the loading, as it took so long, there could've only been more than just video to load in most scenes. I'm not saying there isnt stealth FMVs or anything, but I've made my point.
edit: anyway, remastering stealth FMVs from scratch shouldnt be a problem. They probably have the original files for the scenes and could rerender more easily than the remastering for Toy Story and Toy Story 2 when Pixar converted those movies to 3D about 3 years ago. They upgraded some textures for those movies rather subtly.

Could not care less that it comes with KH1 FM and re com with days cutscenes. This will be faking amazing in HD :DDD. But I'm almost certain a 2.5 will come along or even be shown in a possible secret ending of 1.5.

There will obviously be another collection. I'm definitely fine with not having to replay the bore that was Days. I kind of wish they would have given Chain the same treatment though. Not really keen on that game either. Actually, it would have been cooler if they had produced a brand new full-length anime in collaboration with Disney to sum up the events of Chain and Days instead (and then done the same for Coded and DDD for the second collection, as I'm sure many of the brand new things introduced in the latter game will make their way into KH3 anyway). They could bundle BBS with TWEWY and a prologue for KH3 for the PS3 as the third and final collection.
But whatever, I'm still happy! As long they remaster KH2:FM and BBS:FM as well, I've got nothing to complain about. Those three games are the only ones that really matter to me. The rest I can live without having to play, even though being able to watch the cutscenes is a nice treat.

FFX was never dated, it was only announced. Square Enix may not release the games that they haven't dated, but they are not bad about delaying what is. This is definitely coming 2013.

I don't think the social game is about the Keyblade War, I'm pretty sure it is gonna be like Kingdom Hearts Mobile where it isn't canon but is still really fun.
P.S. Those figures look awesome! Though I wish they made other characters instead of another Sora and Riku but they're nice...and those keyblades!!! I think they are gonna release them in another Master Arms set, in which case I'd reccommend buying them immediately as the original Master Arms sold out quite quickly.

A few of my thoughs on KH HD 1.5 Remix
Scrolling through comments on various websites about the recent HD re-release of Kingdom Hearts, Chain of Memories and 358/2 Days I couldn't help but be (unsurprisingly) baffled at how much people like to complain. Aside from some comments that should really just be kept to themselves for purpose of lack of education (I hated Kingdom Hearts, the little mermaid song always annoyed me and I never played it), there were tons of "fans" who begun complaining about SE trying to "rip everyone off and just make more money".
This, I don't understand. Not one bit. The ABSOLUTE biggest complaint I have heard from fans of the series was that the games spanned to many different consoles, and the story was no longer accessible in it's entirety to everyone, leaving many fans confused as to where to plot was now - ignoring the fact that BEFORE this remake, all you really needed was a ps2, a 3ds and a psp to enjoy the entire series (most of which is not that expensive).
But here is just the thing. Now that we are getting the games released all on the same system (and for a relatively cheap price), people feel the need to complain again. Not only are the odds in favour that many KH fans haven't actually played all three releases on this disc, it is more or less inevitable that there will be a "Kingdom Hearts HD Remix 2.5", consisting of (and I'm guessing here) Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts BBS and Kingdom Hearts Re:Coded. This would make EVERY KH game with the exception of the newest release (why would they remaster that now), accessible on the SAME system, which exactly what everyone wanted. AND THEY ARE DOING THIS BEFORE THE RELEASE OF KINGDOM HEARTS III. Why? SO THAT YOU CAN CATCH UP ON THE STORY BEFORE THE GAME COMES OUT.
But instead... many people choose to put this off as "Square Enix being shameless and not releasing KH3 already".

The Cutscenes are important. The game and gameplay itself, well it's to who likes it or not.
358/2 Days is just a filler game, just like Coded and Chain of Memories. No big loss in omitting it, imo. If you are going to play all of the games for the story, you don't want to replay all the worlds you previously cleared. A cutscenes gallery makes for a great replacement to all of the titles I just mentioned, I think.

It's typical to be honest, the Final Fantasy, Sonic or several other fandoms are not much different in that.
The "KH 3"-whiners are practically around ever since the secret ending of KH 2 Final Mix, and by now people should probably just ignore them and their whining because it really becomes redundant.
The others are often either numbskulls who just like to complain about anything and everything or nostalgia junkies barfing around because things do not go the way they want it to.
(Like i.e. those idiots always bashing the newer Final Fantasies because they don't have the outdated turn-based system).
The thing about all those is though that they, although very vocal and loud on the internet (and often in comment-sections of either gaming sites or fan sites of the franchise in question), are still in the minority anyways.
The real best solution is really to take the same stance as Square Enix itself practically does and ignore all the unpleasable parts of the fandom and concentrate on the other parts.
Haters gonna hate and the best approach is really to don't give a shit about them.
I've already seen many comments and posts that express positive opinions on the new KH HD Collection which really was a popular demand from big parts of the fandom who aren't unpleasable, unreasonable bashers and haters.
It's just that the more satisfied (or "content") fans do not need to be that vocal and obnoxiously loud because they actually enjoy what they get.
If the HD Collections will get reasonable sale numbers (and probably bring in fresh fans because the story can be followed on one device) Square has already won something from its investment and they can actually afford to literally give a middle finger to the complainers. No one forces them to buy anything.
Heck, if they bring this over to the western market (that means Europe and Australia too, not only the US as I often see in comments only crying for an US-Release neglecting EU and AUS.) we will have finally Final Mix content and Europe will finally get Re: CoM, all on an current gen system, the PS3.
That alone is for me personally a reason to get this, in addition to having it all on one device.
Indeed, not only would Final Mix content finally find its way to western shores, Europe would also finally get what it missed out during the PS2 era.
Not to mention it all being on one device it will make the story more accessible (if we count in a probable second HD collection containing the other half of the series to be released later) and possibly attract completely new players.

These are quite possibly my favorite Formation Arts set ever, like I love them all! There are usually ones that I can do without :P But I really want this whole set. My favorite is definitely the Atlantica one *w*

Sorry, but unless you are literally obsessed with everything Kingdom Hearts, the game does not have much to offer. Almost everything is recycled from the first game. Having to play through all of the same worlds one more time sort of made sense when the game was portable and having Agrabah in your pocket was a cool thing, but doing it back to back on the same console is a bit too much.
That being said, the game did include some important cutscenes. That's why I'm putting it in the same filler category as Days and Coded. Because if you take away the cutscenes from either of these games, you end up with filler material. They make sense as far as portable games go, but back to back with the proper games that were more or less made from scratch (BBS, KH1 and KH2), they just feel redundant and will slow down your adventure. That's why cutscene galleries make more sense for these games.
In the context of this HD collection, Re:Chain of Memories would have been so much cooler if they had cut the rehashed Disney worlds and replaced them with special boss battles, turning Castle Oblivion into a challenge tower for the fans.

Yeah when we got the blurry picture I was kind of upset they all seemed to be Sora :P But now seeing them all in detail, and realizing its his form changes I was really happy about it. Especially since there are other characters featured on most of them :) The only one I am kind of meh about is the one with Sora just chilling on Destiny Islands :P But it still looks nice.

CoM was way more than just filler. Sure you replayed through pretty much all the same stories in the disney world, but it was an advancement in the story line and had a really great plot on its own dealing with the Organization. Not playing CoM will leave you confused about many things.

Yea, this pretty much sums up why I wouldn't consider CoM as a filler, When KH2 starts, you're really gonna ask, who's Roxas, why is Sora asleep, why can't he remember anything? Who's Namine?
Of course all of those was explained in the long run why playing KH2, but yea, it takes a while. I'm gonna take back calling it a main game because you can survive without (although you're gonna end up with a lot of questions), but I wouldn't call it a filler

Everything's still pretty vague at this point. Days' cutscenes will be available in HD in Theater Mode, yes, but what cutscenes are they talking about? Only the voiced ones from the original game? Or the text bubble scenes included? Not exactly sure yet.

Only the cutscenes are important, not the actual games. You're arguing as if you had to actually play them to understand what's going on in KH2. You most definitely don't. You can easily just watch the cutscenes instead and skip the actual games. That was my point. They aren't important games. Although this is a very long shot, I'm not really expecting a Days remake, but I do hope we get to play Roxas while he's in the Organization, but only for the important parts, not all of them.
I think it's safe to assume there will be a 2.5 remaster featuring KH2FM and BBS, but will it also feature DDD? Given that it's Square Enix, I'd say almost certainly not.
Although they may give Re:Coded the treatment they are giving Days with 1.5

But at least BBS, KH and KH2 provide long epic adventures with brand new worlds, characters and music to go along with the cutscenes, whereas the others just offer... well, recycled content. That's how I feel anyway. I personally don't care for the story though. I think it's really bad (the first game was okay, then it all became too fan fiction-esque for me). I play for the awesome gameplay and nostalgia I feel when playing through the Disney related events.
CoM has always been my top fav game, so I am glad it is included in this collection. It was the game that finally introduced us to Nobodies, and the concept of memories that are an important aspect in the series now. There hasn't been one game since CoM that hasn't had some importance over memories.

The thought of replaying KHs original and Re: CoM makes me ecstatic (with trophy support and HD even more). But the down-side is that it doesn't include Days, but cutscenes (the only con on my end). But like armytaco said, if there's space for a KHHD 1.5, what about a KHHD 2.5? With HD and trophy support KH2 and BbS? I WANT that to happen! It's enough material for a KH game per year (possibly KH3 being released on 2015?), too. It helps keeps the old and newer fans fresh on what to expect on KH3.

By that line of reasoning Final Fantasy was originally on the Nintendo & should stay Nintendo. Heck, KH only had 1 game before it started showing up on Nintendo platforms, FF had 6 main entries plus several side games across 3 platforms (though the GB ones were originally non-FF). The only thing FF7 would've really lacked was FMVs, no real sacrifice to content. Of course if FF did stay in the House of the Big N then KH1 probably would've been a GCN title instead. Would've made more sense too, Nomura was inspired by Super Mario 64 & Disney games sell better on Nintendo. It is kinda weird for a game inspired by SM64 to have ended up on Nintendo's competition instead isn't it?
Or we can admit that the notion of a 3rd party series having console favoritism is an incredibly silly & obsolete nowadays.

Personally I would be all for the release of the HD remake on Nintendo's new console (since i'll be getting it anyway). I know its unlikely, but the port over would be easy enough and it would get more people to buy the remake (just something else to play around with on their new console)
Anyway I'm actually really excited for that online game. I remember a few months back when people were speculating about a game like this to cover the actual keyblade war. Honestly I love things like this. It will be really cool to get further into the backstory of KH. The HD remake sounds interesting, but I've already played most of the games (only missed CoM) but would be cool enough to get a used copy to see how the series translates to HD.

I'll admit that Days was never my favorite game and I'm not all that sad that it isn't in this...but then I just realized...if they remade Days for the PS3, it would have had Days' multiplayer with amazing graphics and ONLINE!!! PLAYING AS LARXENE, MARLUXIA, AND ZEXION WITH BEAUTIFUL ONLINE!!!! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!
Back on positive notes, those Formation Arts are...wow. I mean, I could tell I was going to love them when I saw Ariel's fin in one of the Play Arts shots, but WOW! Usually I wait around and buy the Formation Arts off of Ebay to have the prices come down (I just ordered the latest set with Lion Sora, Twilight Thorn, etc.) but this set is easily an immediate buy. COME ON SE!!! MAKE MERMAN SORA PLAY ARTS A REALITY!!! But first...BIRTH BY SLEEP PLAY ARTS!!!
Also, I love the detail that they put into converting all the keyblades into The Grid forms with the neon colors, nice touch. I'm curious if you'll get more than 2 per Sora and Riku or if they'll release a set of Master Arms (I think they'll end up doing this, the first one sold like hotcakes anyways and there are way to many keyblades to fit into a box with a character figure).

If I read correctly in the translations then Visual works is involved in the Days-cutscene-part, so maybe we'll get something fancy reminiscent of the KH 3D Opening at least for the most important scenes while the originally text-based scenes are re-done into actual cutscenes.
It would still be less time-consuming than to port the entire game from Nintendo DS to PS3 Format and beef it up too in order to match with the HD quality and probably necessary as well in order to make Days' storyline fully understandable. The few actual voiced cutscenes Days had were divided between pivotal points (like Naminé explaining stuff about what Xion's fate would mean) and somewhat unneccessary repeats of the same stuff (like Xion getting her ass kicked by Riku from multiple angles).
Those alone would certainly not enough to make the Story of Days understandable, not to mention that in most of the voiced cutscenes, the actual supposed main character, Roxas, does not even make an appearance.
The second collection (if there will be one) would then of course include KH2 Final Mix and most likely Birth by Sleep, which is certainly easier to bring from PSP to PS3 than bring a Nintendo DS Game to PS3. The PSP was already near on par in terms of Graphics with the PS2 so porting it to run on the PS3 should be not that much of a problem.

In order to also do something about the "console-spread" as Nomura expressed concern over it is also handled pretty effective on Square's part as by providing the Story of the Nintendo titles within the collection in some accessible form the problem with the story being spread into pieces is remedied. Days and CoM actually deliver the perfect background to that (and KH 1 to an extent) because Days runs concurrently with them for a time.

Most of everything in that game is from 1 and 2. They'd only need to create that area above the entrance hall in Beasts Castle, the maze in Wonderland... I can't remember the rest but yeah.

I love the trading arts! Is there suppose to be a link to the all of the trading arts pictures though? Because the last three are missing.

Maybe you need to look at 3D again, because there is certainly a lot of detail in that game compared to a game like KH1 and even KH2 and BBS.
You know, with the naming scheme in mind, I wonder if the "0.5" in BbSFM's secret ending meant more than we thought.
I'm inclined to think not, but at the same time, would they actually do a three-part HD collection? 1.5, 2.5 and... 0.5?
2.5 as the name implies would be 2 and all the titles that take place between 2 and 3, ie re:coded and DDD. As stated, re:coded would probably receive the cutscene-only treatment. But what about DDD? While touch screen functionality isn't integral per se, it is more heavily integrated than in any of the other DS games, so it would have to go through a bit of an overhaul (no reality shifts, or any of those mini-games, unless they adjust the gameplay for them).
One of the things that sounds unappealing about this is, well, DDD just came out, an HD port seems unnecessary. But it isn't unthinkable. CoM and coded both received full remakes roughly two years after their respective original releases. And with the 1.5 remix coming out next year, that, presumably, leaves another year after that for a prospective 2.5 remix to be released. And DDD has already been out for half a year in Japan. So the time frame is pretty realistic.
And then, as far as a 0.5 remix would go, it'd be BbSFM anddd... BbSv2? I know people have been saying that it was cancelled, but if you go back to the Nomura interviews, he appears to be talking about a different KH game. He mentions that some mystery KH game was cancelled but then, in the same interview, suggests that the BbSv2 story exists, but they have no plans at the moment. Mentioning those two in the same breath like that is a bit of a contradiction if you assume BbSv2 was this mystery game.
And then maybe they could have HD cutscenes from this browser game included with that package if anything in that is canon lol.
But I don't know. Would Square go that far, spreading the remakes out into three collections? Then again, I guess I wouldn't put it past them either. We already pretty much know they're at least splitting it into two.

I really don't think they'd go out of their way to make scenes from Days into CGI, that just sounds like a waste. This series isn't very liberal with the use of CGI.
I'm not going to rule out other text-based cutscenes being converted into full voiced ones though. It's just a matter of how many. And I can't picture them doing that much more, if any, than what we had in Days, because there's an easier work around: a memento-styled addition, ie just giving us a bunch of text to read to under the context of the scenes.

I think you may be on to something. It sounds pretty reasonable and these fragmentary scenes could serve to tie the different entries of the series even more tightly together into one complete story arc, filling in more of the smaller more vague terms and issues.

That Halloween Town Trading Arts is awesome. I like the Destiny Islands one as well even if it is just Sora. It looks so tranquil.
Okay, quick question because now I'm getting confused. Are there Trading Arts also at the convention that I can't find photos of? Or are the Formation Arts being called the Trading Arts? I'm not trying to be nitpicky, I just don't want to miss out on any info lol :D The Kingdom Hearts series has their own Trading Arts (only 1 volume thus far) that look like this:

This poses an interesting problem particularly for Sora in the prospective English release. I can see KH1 Sora with younger HJO voice, but that's about it. His updated model, just picturing it with younger HJO's voice... I can't. Seems odd. Makes me wonder if they'd actually go back and have HJO redub all his lines. And, on that note, as much as it pains me to say it, would it be better for them to redub Ansem with Epcar just for the sake of consistency? Not a big deal either way, but something to think about.

As sacrilegious as this will sound, I think that Ansem SoD's lines should be redone. But only for the sake of continuity. Same thing applies to Xion, even though I absolutely loved Alyson Stoner's performance. As far as Sora goes...no. It's still the same actor, just before puberty took over. XD
As far as re-doing voices I would keep as many of the same voices as possible for KH1. I imagine they would like to have to re-do as few lines as possible. I do not see it necessary to change Sora's voice or Xion's voice unless they are going to add more voiced scenes.

I think the CoM model would work fine with a younger Sora voice, honestly, and Zane's take on Ansem is just too awesome to ditch. Granted, I'm sure they're going to redub Ansem since they did it in KH2, but. Still, the thought of it makes me sad. :c
If they are going to be adding some scenes to the games, then I really hope they clarify the following:
1. The Final Keyhole (Was it artificial? What was its purpose really?)
2. The Keyblade of People's Hearts (I get from the Xehanort Reports that it basically opens the Door to Darkness and as such serves as the key to the Realm of Darkness. But how did it open the door to darkness when it wasn't ever complete? And this brings me to my next point)
3. The Door to Darkness and Kingdom Hearts
Door to Darkness, it leads to the Realm of Darkness. It is basically the dividing border between the realm of light and the realm of darkness. It has more or less been confirmed that the seven hearts of pure light created it to keep the darkness created by the Keyblade War sealed away so it wouldn't consume the Realm of Light. The true Kingdom Hearts fell into that darkness during the Keyblade War and thus it exists in the deepest depths of the Realm of Darkness today.
But here is my beef: Was the light we saw consume XH in KH1 from the true Kingdom Hearts somewhere in the realm of darkness? Or was it from an artificial Kingdom Hearts XH made from the hearts of worlds that heartless had stolen? I had always assumed it was light from the true Kingdom Hearts reacting to Sora's call. But in KH3D the glossary entry regarding KH says "We know Xehanort has made two of these (Kingdom Hearts) already. Both artificially. One was made from the hearts of countless worlds and had a door which led to the realm of darkness, it's depths were never fully explored. The other was made from the hearts of people and was said to have the power to recomplete those who had lost their hearts."
So was the KH in KH1 artificial or real? Or were there two KH's? One artificial and one real? This is the most confusing part of the entire story for me. I would love some clarification in the HD KH1 about all of this. Change the dialouge so it makes it all clearer.

Unfortunately, there will always be complaints about anything - it's too difficult to please everybody. But I've seen more positive comments than negative ones pertaining to KH:HD 1.5, so that's a good sign.
Nomura also pointed out the phrase "A Fragmentary Passage," saying that it meant "a story divided into multiple parts". I think we'll see a few new scenes in each ReMIX; maybe even secret playable "episodes".
I think you may be on to something. It sounds pretty reasonable and these fragmentary scenes could serve to tie the different entries of the series even more tightly together into one complete story arc, filling in more of the smaller more vague terms and issues.

I hope they remake 3D as well. It's a marvelous opportunity. PS3 is great for 3D and DDDs graphics are really close to the PS2 originals. It would make total sense for a DDD: Final Mix edition before KH3. Although I find it hard to believe they would put 3 games + cutscenes on one disc.

As for DAYS, I know they said its only gonna be in a theatre mode, but I'd much rather see the cutscenes when we do something significant. (Like how we complete a world, and they show a Days cutscene would be nice) Of course it would in chronological order.

This is...hmmm. HMMM.
On the one hand, the game play in Days wasn't so thrilling as to make me want/need to replay the game as a whole over again on the PS3, per se (not that I would be averse to it). On the other hand, the story and characterization was the selling point of that game for me, and if they're only going to bring over the voiced cut scenes then that's going to render most of that moot since obviously much of the plot and character development happens over the course of...the rest of the game that isn't a voiced cut scene. The only way I can see this working is if they're planning to completely revise everything and actually make the entire game into a series of cut scenes; so, basically, like a movie, or a series of episodes, or something. I don't know how likely that is, though.
I mean, honestly, I'd be just as happy if that's what they would do with all of the games, but that's probably just because I already view the game play as a mechanic to get from scene to scene and couldn't care less about trophies or whatever. Plus, frankly, it makes me feel a bit unnerved to think that I've gone out of my way to buy every portable system that a new KH game has come out on, and now they'll just be collected on a single console like they could have been from the beginning. Square is toying with my feelings so much when all I want is to be happy. :P

I know I would. KH has never been great with platforming anyway, and if it's a choice between: jump on this block, now jump on that block and KICK OFF WALLS AND SPIN AROUND LAMP POSTS AND DO FLASHY ATTACKS AND SONIC WAVES OF PINK EVERYWHERE I choose Flowmotion.

I'd would have been pissed if Re:com wasn't in the HD remake. It's my favorite game in the series story wise.
But anyway I don't see what there is to complain about. We're getting HD remakes of 1 and COM and if it comes to the US we'll get final mix. Something we've wanted ever since it came out. But even if its not final mix can you say you wouldn't buy it? I can't.
I can't wait for this remake.

Yeah at least we're getting the localized final mix games now. Also Nomura will probably change or retcon some stuff to have the story make sense. Not to mention there will probably be new additions. I hope the command deck gameplay end on 1.5. Maybe even switch between command deck gameplay and classic

Gotcha :D well I can wait, I finally picked up KH DDD just yesterday, and loving it. If the USA/EUR gets this, I'm hoping for the final mix for KH1, because it won't take that long to make everything into english, and it will give us a chance to fight Xemnas on KH1.

Well since we're getting old worlds, I feel like Neverland is almost a guarantee then, because it's one of the easier work-arounds for the time logic in this series. Atlantica seems like another no-brainer, not for the time stuff, but for King Triton's reference to the keyblade. Then again, not sure if we'd be seeing Ariel and co.

I don't view it exactly the same way, but I believe trophies are one of the easier things to make in a game. If you can make a whole game, you can put in a little more effort for trophies, and when games lack trophies, it just makes me feel like they didn't put close to their all into it :(
On a side note, when Final Fantasy 7 came out on Steam it had achievements or something and they were pretty darn easy overall. I know that both Re:Coded and DDD have some pretty difficult trophies (or tedious, depends how you look at it) but I think the trophies for HD 1.5 won't be that bad at all. I just really want to see what the trophy images look like :D

I think they'll re-use the most popular Disney worlds. Considering this is going on Facebook and may introduce KH to many people who have no idea what KH is right now, they'll stick to the biggest, most recognizable ones. Any new worlds I would presume will be saved for later games. That means I definitely expect Neverland, Wonderland, Agrabah, Halloweentown, Olympus Coliseum, and possible Atlantica

If they are dubbing the Sephiroth vs Cloud scene that likely means that they are going to change everyone whose voice was in the first game only, which is horrible considering that David Boreanaz, Lance Bass, Mandy Moore, and ESPECIALLY Billy Zane were all leagues better than the ones that came after them.
The old voices are part of the games nostalgia for me, and getting rid of them completely would take away 90% of my interest in this collection.
After Silent Hill HD got such terrible reception for doing this exact thing, maybe Square wont be stupid enough to redub it and not include an original voice option.

Not really. Sephiroth only appeared in the game as a boss and in that scene, so its not going to influence much.

Lance Bass is not better than George Newbern. He made Sephiroth sound like a teenage boy rather than the 30-year old SOLDIER he was.
I agree on the David Boreanaz and Mandy Moore part, but Andrea Bowen does a fantastic job as Aerith (unlike that Mena Suvari chick they had ew), Doug Erholtz sound good too, and not even going to touch the Billy Zane thing. It's been over six years and that is too much time to hold on to one man's performance in a game made a decade ago.

George Newburn sounded like any generic villain; at least Bass was unique, and sounded appropriately angelic and otheworldly. Granted, he probably wouldn't have been too great in a dialogue role, but I don't want them to remove his battle quotes because I really felt that they added to the fight.

That would be thorough, but quite frankly unnecessary on SE USA's part. Most audio recorded, especially in the fancy booth of a high profile company, is saved at a high enough quality, that transferring higher fidelity files over into an HD collection would be simple as pie.
That said, I would ask for the same treatment, provided it gets localized. Meaning, I want access to Japanese dialogue and I want the FM scenes recorded in English too.

Here's a random guess. Because of the copyright problems Deep Jungle gets retconned out of the story and replaced by The Jungle Book. Tarzan wasn't in Sora's memories during CoM and never showed up in any of the flashbacks so it wouldn't feel too much out of place if it was removed.

Remember that very similar information was rumored around E3, right down to the title being "ReMIX". Odds are, they have been working on this for a long time and HD Collections don't take long at all to make anyways, so there is no reason that this shouldn't be a Q1 release. Not to mention that Japan-NA releases have been much closer together than a few years ago.

The Re:CoM Sora has a more rounded face, narrower eyes, thicker eyelashes, slightly lighter/more detailed hair, and various little tweaks that are hardly noticeable.
His clothes are a bit more detailed and his sleeves are more squared than rounded to give a cleaner look.

Ugh, I do not like the Re:CoM model for Sora. :c His eyelashes are too thick, and his KH1 model is just more boyish.
For me I don't really care what model they use, I hardly even notice it anyway (except for the eyes)
I think he looks cute with his Re:CoM model xD KH1 Sora has a derpy feel to him, mostly because of his huge creepy (and memorable) smiles in KH1. Re:CoM/Re:coded Sora has a really sugary sweet, cute smile.

After comparing the footage with the original version's cutscene, your right it is different. Mostly I noticed his chin is less pointy in this version then in the original.
I thought they were just putting the game onto PS3, not updating the character models too. XD Now I'm really excited for this, Re:COM Sora was so much better than the original~ I'm guessing everybody else (well, the main characters) will be using their updated models?

Yes, the browser game sounds pretty cool! I'd say don't get your hopes up about it being usable (like having a translation and ease of play) for non Japanese people, but I'm sorta hopeful so...I'd be a hypocrite.

Um, I'm assuming you're asking about Monster Octopus? Sorry if that was phrased in a confusing way. No, they are not trolls. Monster Octopus are the guys who created the adorable character designs for KH Mobile and Theatrhythm. Originally 4gamer had reported that they were doing character designs for the KH PC browser game based on their history, but it appears that they were mistaken.

It is tough, especially in this game where a lot of sequential scenes take place in the same location over and over like Twilight Town clock tower.
Edit: yeah, Sora looks COM model. It's nice to have the consistency, even though KH1 sora looks more like an awkward 14yo. The real awkward part-and I cant believe it really took me this long to notice-is that under that jacket, he's basically wearing a onesie.
I dont know if Kairi's updated, but that's odd since she could've been updated in DDD.

Exactly. I really hope the'll implement these cutscenes like they did in DDD with the flashbacks. Like, afters Sora turned into a Heartless, you unlock the scene where Xemnas finds Roxas.

The way to open treasure chests follows the current trend of throwing the Keyblade and then tapping it. I feel quite sorry for the treasure chests!
As for the screens of battle, there is a fight using the power of a card that has been drawn to confront (?) one enemy Shadow, sort of thing.
By the way, the player used a Limit Form Sora card. It used a Ragnarok-type technique.
Also, I was interested to see a treasure chest behind the Shadow. Field encounter style?

Haha I did do it, and I did the same thing as you re: dialogue! Might be our past collaborating showing through :P
Well, that settles it then. This is just a remaster, meaning there will be NO NEW FEATURES added to the game. The only differences will be 1080p resolution instead of 480p, and maybe a few new voiceovers for cutscenes that were previously silent.
I am 99.9% certain of this. This is usually the way game companies handle HD remasters. Nothing new, just polished old stuff.
(Regardless, I'm still definitely buying this!)

So let me get this straight...EVERY scene in Days is being remastered in HD? If they can do that, I don't know why they couldn't just remake the game.

Too much time, the gameplay is a lot more different than you think. Interface is different, each and every model needs to probably be rehashed. Also the fact that a different team made the game, H.A.N.D.. HAND made the game for the DS, moving it to a different system is a lot harder than most people believe. I mean look at TWEWY, they completely changed the gameplay just to move it to the iPhone. The fact that HAND made this means they know their codes a lot more than SE does. (Think of playing a game using someone else's save x 1,000 harder)
So basically, it will cost too much time to remake it, cost a lot of money, and besides, you already have KH:FM (NEW), AND KH Re:CoM (NEW for Europe) two amazing games, made into HD. What more could you want? Think of DAYS as a bonus, because having 3 or more games in a HD collection is a bit too much, and its not maximizing possible profits.
This sucks i have to get a new ps3 mine finaly hit the bucket :( but if you noticed they gave a small hint of HD remakes at the end of kh bbs fm when it said 0.5

I kind of want to see the end of "Love". After Roxas fights the big bad heartless in Beast's Castle, then sees Belle and Beast be all lovey dovey.
- And I think when Axel tells Roxas that Xion is like a mirror to him.

- Plus a few scenes from the time Roxas believes Axel died at CO. And when Axel returns.

I cant see how Disney would let go of such a household name,but if it's true then they must've worked it out somehow.I've known some games from the PS1 era that wouldn't be re-released on PSN just because a song in the game had an expired license.
Are there any scenes in particular you guys would like to see voiced from Days?
-The stick scenes. Those were just hilarious. Although I cannot see them being voiced.
-Xigbar's goldfish line. I want to hear it! And Xigbar's interactions with Roxas and Xion in general.
-The whole scene between Namine and Xion.
-Scenes with Roxas wanting to know about friends, love, and hearts.
-The seashells. I thought those were sweet.

I just want to see all the scenes at the clock tower when Roxas, Axel and Xion having ice-cream togethere. I want to see the sad face of Roxas in HD too, it gives me a lot of emotions even though he looks like Ventus but Ventus can't give me that same feeling.
Maybe a scene where Saix trying to point out that Axel must now who is his friend.

I want to see the scene where Roxas and Axel walk into Castle Oblivion while searching for Xion. Roxas had said that he kept seeing weird images in his head before he passed out.

About the Days scenes I want to see as cutscenes... Well, there are a lot. Hahaha. But as long as they have the sea shell scenes, I think I can live with anything.
Some others scenes I'd like, that I don't think people have mentioned yet, are:
1: The "pressing the wrong buttons" part. That dialogue between Roxas and Axel was so hilarious.
2. The mission with the Stealth Sneak (or whatever it's called) when Xion goes missing.
3. The part in Beast's Castle where Xion gets her Keyblade back (I can't recall if that was the stick mission or not), but both of those would be nice to see again.
4. The part where Xion gets upset about being called a mistake, and everything that follows it (like when Xion says, "We may both be exceptional, Roxas. But I don't think we're the same").
5. Xion spying on Roxas and Axel sadly when they're looking for her.
6. The mission in Twilight Town where Roxas, Axel, and Xion are all working together.
7. When Xion almost falls off the clock tower, but I think that's the scene where they decide to go to the beach, so it looks like they already have it.
8. The mission with Roxas and Xion in Agrabah towards the end of the game.
9. The mission in Halloween Town when Roxas and Xion are tricked into fighting each other, but I imagine they'll have to have that scene (it's too important not to include).
10. The part during Xion's fight with Roxas where he's trying to run to her (reach her), but she disappears before he can.
11. The part where Axel asks Xion if, "they forgot to program her with common sense".
12. The last sunset the three share, of course.
13. Where Xion sticks up for Axel after he brought her back, and tells Roxas, "If Axel hadn't done that, I wouldn't be sitting here with you right now, Roxas."
14. The part where Xion goes to Riku after escaping for the last time, and says something like, "I figured out where I belong. I'm close to losing everything I ever cared about, so I have to go back to Sora."
15. The "day off" where Roxas meets Hayner, Pence, and Olette.
16. When Roxas just "keeps staring at the new kid" before either he or Xion begin talking.

Gosh, there are so many scenes I'd like to see... Realistically, I know most of this list probably won't be there. But I really hope they at least keep the sea shell parts, the things that explain the plot, and some of the great trio moments.

I really don't remember that scene all that well, it's been along time since I played KH 358/2 Days.
The ones I would mostly like to see would be anything happening in 'Where Nothing Gathers' aka 'The Round Room'.
I just love the meeting scenes.
Other scenes in what ever order I think of them;
- Axel and Roxas enters CO.
- Xigbar vs Xion.
- Zexion explaining Nobodies to Roxas. Maybe the mission with Marluxia too, since he explains the difference between Purebloods and Emblem Heartless.
- Roxas conversing with Riku before the final battle.
- "Kiddo, the only thing you'll ever save me from is boredom."
- Rikus promise with Mickey.
- Maybe something with Xaldin in Beasts Castle.
I think he looks cute with his Re:CoM model xD KH1 Sora has a derpy feel to him, mostly because of his huge creepy (and memorable) smiles in KH1. Re:CoM/Re:coded Sora has a really sugary sweet, cute smile.
Sora's face resembled that of a Cabbage Patch kid to me in the 1st game...and Cabbage Patch kids creep me out <___< Also, if they can take out the fish faces in the game, that alone is pretty much a selling point.

Are you sure yours is entirely dead, or is that just your impression? Mine overheated major last year and permanently crashed(wouldnt even turn on) and it only cost $70 to fix and only took a day. Hasnt broken down since. :)

These are all some great Days scenes people are talking about. I thought of a few more that I wouldn't mind seeing again. For example, any scene of Roxas or Axel sticking up for Xion against Saïx would be okay by me.
On a more serious note, I'd love to see the scene where Axel drags Xion back to The Castle That Never Was for the last time (before passing out himself), and says, "Why do you always have to cause me trouble?"
And, of course, the last conversations between Roxas and Axel are a must. We need to see Axel refusing to give Roxas answers, and thus causing Roxas to decide he has to go figure them out for himself. Just the whole "Roxas leaving the Organization parts" would be epic. Like his fight with Saïx.
On the KH1 front, do you think they might add Kairi's line, "Your feelings are reaching me, Sora," to the ending? Personally, I'd love it if they did. I never got why is was left out of the English version to begin with. And more Kairi lines are always a good thing in my book:)

Edgar Rice Burroughs, Inc. handles licensing, anyways. Not sure how these things work but I don't see any foreseeable issues...

You didn't hear that the books are public domain now? You can read it all online for free if you just google Tarzan of the Apes and other works of the Tarzan series. The estate still has power over licensing and receives royalties for Tarzan, but that's pretty much it.

This. I really like Alyson as Isabella, but I would prefer Hayden to be Xion. She wasn't bad, but its odd. When I heard Hayden voicing Xion in DDD I just knew that was how she was always meant to sound.
So I would prefer if she got redubbed. Also once again, it would be for consistency's sake.

I thought Alyson did fine, but I don't want her archived voice to be kept for old scenes if Hayden is asked to do the new ones. That would be the one and only instance where I think it'd be neccessary to redub an entire role, imho. I'd probably prefer Hayden (because of other roles I've seen her play), but moreso, I just want one actress voicing Xion for the Days scenes. It would be jarring to "Play All" and hear her voice change back and forth. Ew.

Around the time of Re:CoM (where Stoner played Kairi) and Days, Hayden was working on Heroes and other things. It might seem odd that she's played small roles in BBS and KH3D, but I think that shows her level of willingness to do voice work for the series again.

Doubtful. The Naminé portrayed by Brittany was a tad older than the one who appears in other instances. Sans Meaghan's one-word, one-liner in BBS, she really hasn't been playing on Brittany's turf. I can totally see Ms. Snow coming in to record for FM scenes, but now we're really speculating way down the road.

Personally, I like both Hayden's and Alyson's performances as Xion. I know Hayden only had one line, but I know she is very capable of giving a good take on Xion. I would be happy with either one.
I also liked both Brittany Snow's and MJM's performances as Namine. I remember I was rather upset when I heard MJM was replacing Brittany Snow as Namine in Re:CoM, but I actually got use to it.

Well, it is true that a lot of the voice actors have no idea what is really happening in the games. They, being the team behind the localization, don't really try and tell them much about the story as a way to prevent leaks (and at least now at this point it is really hard to explain anything that is happening), and they are only given the lines they need to say. I'm not surprised Brittany Snow knew jack about the game. Jesse was better, but he had that Freudian Slip xD
I wouldn't blame Brittany for what she said, though. She should have been told the basic premise of the game before the premiere and it is clear she wasn't
I prefer Meghan completely, and it has nothing to do with Brittany's knowledge of the series (or lack thereof) :P I just felt Meghan portrayed Namine's character better. She had this sad, introverted quality to her voice that matches Namine completely.
