Some nice news today! Kingdom Hearts 2: FM+ Ultimania, a Japan-Only strategy guide like book, has been released! Gamefaqs member TheWertle has been kind enough to take a picture of the book, as well as translate portions of it for us! Click the thumbnail below to enlarge.

The following info pertains to the Mushroom XIII Sidequest. While we already have specifics of this sidequest on our Mushroom XIII Page, this goes into some more depth. It's important to note that each Mushroom Challenge is graded on a letter score.

Mushroom XIII Info:
-B rank is all that you really need to satisfy a Mushroom.
-For fighting the odd number Mushrooms, getting an S gives you a 100% gaurantee of fighting the Premium Mushroom. Getting an A only gives you 10% chance for a Premium and 90% of getting a Precious Mushroom. -For fighting the even number Mushrooms, getting an S gives you a 100% chance of fighting the Limited Mushroom. Just like odd number part, getting an A rank will only give you a 10% chance for fighting a Limited and 90% chance for a Platinum.
-Order of ranking from highest to lowest in Mushroom appearance rate: S rank (100% chance), A rank (10 -90%), B rank (15 - 85%), C rank (25 - 75%), D (35 - 65%), and E (55%).

S Rank Requirements for Mushroom XIII:
I - Hit at least 70 times. S - 99 II - Get at least 80 points. S - 99
III - Pick up at least 450 dropped prizes. S - 500
IV - Defeat at least 85. S rank - This one is different it just has at least 85 for B and nothing for A or S.
V - Reduce Mushroom's HP to zero within 10 seconds. S - under 00'03"00
VI - Within 45 seconds defeat all 65. S - under 00'31"00
VII - Reduce HP to zero within 10 seconds. S - under 00'03"00
VIII - Attack in the air at least 85 times. S - 99
IX - Get at least 75 points. S - 99
X - Reduce HP to zero within 55 seconds. S - under 00'36"00
XI - Reduce the number above his head to zero within 19 seconds. S - under 00'15"00
XII - Defeat at least 40. S - 50
