Tai Yasue (Co-Director of Kingdom Hearts 3D [Dream Drop Distance]): Fans are really lining up and playing, and they're having a lot of fun at E3. I think for Kingdom Hearts 3D, we really wanted to bring the Kingdom Hearts title to the next level. You can see a glimpse of the Kingdom Hearts future. It centers around the Mark of Mastery exam. Sora and Riku are trying to become Keyblade Masters and they dive into each World of Sleep to open a Keyhole, and by opening Keyholes they pass the test and it really connects to the next Kingdom Hearts: Kingdom Hearts III. For Kingdom Hearts, we really tried to utilize all of the 3DS' features. For example, we made the Reality Shift system. What that is, it's a touch-screen sort of mode. Sora and Riku, the main characters of the game will dive down into the bottom of the screen and you will be able to touch the bottom screen to deal blows. Each Reality Shift ability differs for each world. For example, you go to Tron Legacy, you can crack an enemy or a field object and decode it and control it. Each world has a unique ability that made it a very enjoyable experience. This Kingdom Hearts 3D is a natural evolution of Kingdom Hearts. It's Kingdom Hearts II, Kingdom Hearts Birth by Sleep on steroids. You do things that are really insane: kick off walls, spin around poles, throw your enemies and things that you really couldn't do before, and I feel that it's really wild and I hope everyone enjoys it as much as you may enjoy it in the game. |
