With E3 less than a weekend away, the community has been abuzz with excitement and speculation on what the future holds for the Kingdom Hearts series. With some of the biggest Kingdom Hearts announcements of the year making their debut at the show, Square Enix has once again established the West as the primary audience for the franchise. For KHInsider, E3 2010 represents a clear example of the creators of the series listening to the requests of its fans, porting an entire game over to a new platform so that its fans have the opportunity to play. But that's not all, arguably the biggest title since the release of Kingdom Hearts 2 is making its way over to E3 this year.
Here's what you can definitely expect at E3 2010:
Formal Announcement of Re: Coded
Square Enix announced the release of Re: Coded, a remake of the Japanese mobile sequel, Kingdom Hearts Coded, for the Nintendo DS. A press release is great and all, but expect a full on unveil at E3. Depending on how far into development the game is, you could expect anything from a trailer, to a playable build, and maybe even a release date range. At the very least, we expect to have a firmer understanding of how the game will look and play on the DS before E3 is over.
First Full English Trailer of Birth by Sleep
While Square did release a small thirty-second teaser trailer for Birth by Sleep, the video didn't exactly show much, and only featured the voice of one character, Master Xehanort. The Birth by Sleep website has already confirmed that there will be an exclusive English trailer for E3 2010, likely to garner fan excitement of seeing the game in English for an extended period for the first time. We also hope the trailer might slip some of the new content that will be featured exclusively in the western releases.
English Playable Demo of Birth by Sleep
With the prequel title less than three months to release, E3 is definitely the big event to show a completed build of the game to the press to stir up hype and media impressions before the release. This will be the first time people will have the chance to play the game in English, so expect impressions from all the big sites and some firm details on what the game really feels like. KHInsider staff will be at the event with our own exclusive preview as well!
