I am definitely excited by this and I think the combat system will be unique and fun as long as there are plenty of combinations and different "monsters" you can "catch" (Not sure what terms the game itself will use). Also curious when the characters will be in their big head/little body form or the more normal form. Based on the scans, both were used in combat...

I can see that. Especially since it's a much more cartoony art style compared to all the other FFs that have come out as of late.
One of my friends made a complaint that they wish the game would stick to one art style instead of jumping between chibi to regular... but I kind of really dig that about the game.

I've never played a Chibi game, but this is to adorable to pass up I think. I am more interested than I thought I'd be when I pressed on the trailer to check it out .

Wow, this looks really picture book like and chibi. So cute! I am liking the look and warm atmosphere this game has. Gonna have to pay more attention to this in the future.

Jeez, this is almost overbearingly cute, this pic alone invokes warm and fuzzy feelings:
That Vivi-esque floating black mage, chibi-Chocobo, chibi-Baby chocobo with an eggshell on its head like Calimero and even the flan looks more funny than scary (compared to i.e. Final Fantasy X's Jumbo Flan anyways).
The main characters also look appealing, with the girl looking like a focused, confident character with a largely original design while the boy looks like a little hyperactive, maybe having the dream job to become an advertiser for toothpaste and looking like a Neku/Sora/Roxas-hybrid with a Xehanort-taste in clothing without this actually coming over as negative.
