Re: World of Final Fantasy - Play it first on PS4/Vita

This, for some reason, gained my attention a lot more than I thought it would.

My first thought was "is this... Final Fantasy Explorers for PS4?". It sort of looks like it could be, doesn't it? Really adorable.

In some ways it does, but it looks like it has turn-bases combat.

(Also the designs look like TWEWY concepts hah)

Predicting that Nomura is creative director for this and Kando or somebody is director.

I got really excited when I saw this. At first, I thought it was a chibi remake of FFVII (since the main character looked like Cloud for a second) and wanted to laugh hardcore. But then it continued, and I fell in love with the look. Glad it's not that far off in release.

A chibi remake of VII would be glorious!

meeeeeh?

My interest wasn't exactly stirred watching this. Somehow reminds me of Explorers though, and I would like to see that title localized.

Re: World of Final Fantasy - Play it first on PS4/Vita

OKAY SO

SQUARE ENIX® today unveiled WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY™, expanding the FINAL FANTASY® universe for a new generation of gamers. Players will collect, raise and take into battle the monsters of FINAL FANTASY lore, drawing on a rich history of iconic creatures, from the charming to the ferocious. WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY will be available in 2016 for the PlayStation®4 and PlayStation®Vita systems.

WORLD OF FINAL FANTASY combines classic RPG gameplay mechanics with fresh and imaginative toy-like visuals. As a brand-new title in the FINAL FANTASY franchise, this game can be enjoyed by both fans and newcomers to the series. Players will lead a pair of twins through varied FINAL FANTASY worlds and encounter the adorably familiar monsters therein. Capture and raise such familiar beasts as cactuar, chocobo, and behemoth to discover alternate forms and learn new abilities.

One of the key features of the game is a “stacking” ability – the siblings can adjust their size, turning small enough to jump onto the monsters during combat, or vice versa, shrink the monsters small enough to ride on the twins. By customizing and stacking their army of monsters, players can create strategic tower combinations and take on the most challenging opponents.

If that helps you get an idea of what this game is

Tower Combinations?
That sounds like something straight out of the Disgaea series, lol.

Maybe they also raise the level cap to 9999? *ggg*

It actually does look interesting, but I am curious why a couple of the characters look like old characters.

Ill be keeping an eye on it for sure!

A lot of fan favorites will be in it. It's essentially like Dissidia meets Record Keeper in a JRPG console format. Hence why we see characters like Cloud and Warrior of Light.

So they basically took out the JRPG mode from Dissidia Arcade and turned it into a separate game? :p

Really, I guess it makes sense with the title. Though with a focus on story (seemingly), I think it would be odd to put characters we know in a different story. Definitely curious to see how this turns out.

Maybe this game will prove how all the FF worlds are actually connected! :p
