Axel and Saix’s past with Subject X. The untold stories of 0.5/BBSV2, like what Mickey and Riku were doing(finally learn how Riku got Kairi’s Keyblade?). Show how Xigbar/Xemnas recruited the non-Radiant Garden members, this could also explore Larxene’s supposed connection to Enchanted Dominion and Maleficent. So much they could do with a Days remake.

Gameplay wise, Roxas should be able to summon Samurai. A Days remake should make a bigger deal of how each Org member(besides Xion) has a certain type of Nobody minion they can summon to help fight against Heartless swarms.

I'm desperate to dive into the future. Several games in this franchise are about reliving KH1, or just getting things ready for KH3 without much else to do/say. I want NEW! But a Days remake does have a lot of interesting potential.

I am one of the biggest 358/2 Days fans around a remake in today's KH world would worry me. Not because I want a Union X remake more even though that one would make more sense for buildup. But I seriously doubt a Days remake would even be faithful to the original.

Hot take but one of my favorite things about Days was it really didn't setup anything for the Dark Seeker saga or X. It was a standalone self contained character driven story set in the KH universe which by todays standards is refreshing. But much like KH1, CoM and KH2 it's dated. Half the dialogue would have to be changed to fit with modern day Kingdom Hearts. Certainly all that crap about Roxas and Xion being the only special members according to Xigbar, what a joke that turned out to be.

Union X would bleed into it too much the way it did in KH3 and I would not want that. If I'm playing 358/2 Days I don't want a reminder of Marluxia, Larxene, Luxord, and Demyx are tied to keyblades. It'll just make me question why they are using Roxas when better options are available, and when they try to explain it it'll be a hot mess just like how they tried to Frankenstein everything in DDD to make since.

And don't even get me started on Subject X inclusion. That's a deal breaker for me. I'm putting my bias and selfish fanboy cap on now. Time for a rant! So what I'm now suppose to view Days and feel bad that Axel's not friends anymore with one of the biggest pieces of shit in the Organization? One of the best things about that game was Axel standing up to Saix for Xion, and now they're going to take that away because "But you left me and Subject X in the dust Lea. It's your fault." I'm suppose to suddenly say "Shame on you Axel for abandoning retcon x? Shame on you for not picking Saix's side which involves not only no longer hanging out with Roxas and Xion, but for them to allow themselves to kill one another?" I swear I loved Saix so much more when he was just a jealous manchild, they don't make hateful villains like that anymore in this series that are just there for you to love to hate. Everyone's got to be redeemable. Go make Subject X game for that. You can retcon whatever bullcrap you want in that but for a Days remake as an actual 358/2 Days stan, I don't want it. Let me keep my hatred of the main antagonist of Days.

The stuff I would want from a Days remake would be to see the story from Xion, Axel, and Riku's side. But none of them would be Union X stuff minus Subject X. A Days remake should have happened before KH3. It's sad because I would have loved to have seen more of the other Organization members doing stuff, but knowing that it'll just be more future bait I don't even know if I want it. Sometimes less is more and I enjoyed the Organization the less I knew of all their backgrounds. So with my long childish rant over as a Days fan I'm unsure if I even still want it. I prefer self contain character driven stories oppose to the lore heavy sequel bait ones.

That’s an interesting take, SweetYetSalty. The 0.5 stuff needs to exist somewhere, it drives me crazy that the Dark Seeker saga still has gaps and mysteries in it when we’re supposed to be starting a new journey. A Days remake is the perfect place for the 0.5 scenes, but perhaps they should back away from the other stuff. Let’s say Recoded got remade, would you be fine with that game getting filled with extra lore? Is it only Days you want to stay simple and clean?

Maybe they'll give players extra jewels and doubloons so that their energy meter will last a few fights longer ss a reward for our collective patience

Oh wow, finally we hear something. At least now we know. Not really surprised. Guessing they were really trying for the 2024 release, but the game needed some extra work.

In a perfect world, this is them laying groundwork for a more concrete announcement in December sometime, maybe at TGA or maybe on a random Wednesday, with a release date sometime next year; this trailer to be followed by a KH4 re-reveal.

We don’t live in a perfect world, but maybe this is true here, too.

I'm not against extra lore exactly but if they want to expand on that just make a new game entirely is all. Like example if you want to show more of the Organization in a Days remake, show more of what their jobs in the group actually are when they weren't partnered with Roxas. I'd rather that then just "I'm Keyblade Master number 47 and I have a deep secret that you have to play KH4 to find out what it is."

My keyboard is still scorched from that.

Okay I am convinced something is going on with Kingdom Hearts. This is the weirdest drought we've ever had with the series.

Hey at least one prediction panned out. We got news when they removed the other games from PS+. 😅

I am glad we don’t have to wait until December at least to hear this. Hopefully positive news will come around that time.

As a Missing Link doomer this is at least a very interesting (and potentially positive) development. Why delay it? The combat didn't seem to be emphasizing skill very much, so it's possible that they're looking into two options; they could either simplify it even more to make it a breezier game to complete, or they're going to tighten it up to give the player more control, so battles can come down to more than just having OP statues.

Making GPS elements more optional could also lead to a potential PC/console release, which would absolutely get even a hater like me to jump on, even if only for an hour or two to try it out. Not everyone has a strong enough phone or enough storage for a fully 3D game like ML, so there's a lot to be gained by expanding to the console marketplace like Genshin did.

I think they realized it would be too out of date compared to the current heavy hitters right now. Like how BlazBlue released as a FGO clone in 2021 and not a clone of something more modern.

Great. The news is there is no news. Why couldn't have they tweet this like 5 months earlier to let fans know the game isn't making it for their initial summer release plans or 2024.Just drop this project and focus on Kh4 at this point tbh.

Speaking of KH4, Idk why they can't just show some concept arts,characters/world introduction etc...? Surely they at least must have that much info to share after years of developing by now. FF7 Remake projects team is very transparent with their fans. They are very on track developing their 3rd game and always share their progress or just general talks about the characters/story progress even though FF7 3 is at a much early stage than Kh4 supposedly
