Hello all, this is a pretty simple question. I'm going to my senior prom and I'm wondering how it would look if I wore Vans with my tuxedo. I thought it'd be and add just a bit of edge/informality, and my date is alright with it, but I'm getting mixed opinions from my friends.
I'm thinking be this shoe in either black/white or black/grey

As a girl, I think it makes you look cheap. That's probably not the case, it's just how I would see it. But if your date doesn't mind it then there's not really a problem.

I think the black and grey would go better with a tux. The white laces are too obnoxious, so I wouldn't suggest it (unless that's what you're going for).

Go with all black if you're absolutely determined to wear sneakers. As long as you're date's fine with it, there's no real problem, but you will look kind of silly.

Even so, why not just wear $50 dress shoes? I don't get why people spend so much on things you where on your FEET. It'll just get dirty and ruined.
