Original Description said:Having been a prominent, if not well-respected teacher prior to his admission to the Helio Asylum, Chandrael received personal and hygienic treatment of a slightly higher standard than the typical single-straightjacket fare of most patients. Still, in spite of that, he remains a tad unkempt after having remained under closed doors for the entirety of his five-year treatment. His hair, an unnaturally stark white hue, reaches almost halfway down his back now, though well groomed, and his face, once sun-tanned and full, now holds hardly any pigmentation at all, and has gained a much more sunken appearance: His cheekbones are far more prominent in his face, and his straight, pointed nose and jawline seem more befitting of a caricature.
Easily the most notable feature of Chandreal’s face, however, is his eyes, which his time in the Asylum did nothing to change. They stand out prominently, capturing the morning light like twin pools of dazzling emerald green, with a blissful, childlike shine. Intermingled with the gleam of wonder and excitement, though, is a deeper, more profound shine: the inscrutable glint of intelligence and experience. While the former glitters and dances, the latter pierces and perceives, and Chandrael’s eyes flit between the two with the fickleness of a firefly’s luminous abdomen.
Unlike his somewhat neglected appearance, Chandrael’s garb, kept dutifully under the care of the Asylum staff, remains as pristine as the day he was admitted. An already slightly threadbare coat—dyed a rich forest green, with light silver embellishments on the lapels and somewhat oversized cuffs—remains folded neatly beside his white button-up shirt, burgundy ascot tie, rumpled brown slacks, and brown knee-high boots in Patient Property. All he was allowed to retain was a thin pair of dark green socks; however, over time, the right sock eventually wore itself away into a state of uselessness, thus leaving only a single sock for Chandrael's use. The staff of the Asylum has offered to supply him with a new pair time and time again, but, as they always purchase white socks as opposed to black or colored socks, Chandrael obstinately continues to wear only his single green sock, alternating feet each day.
