The beloved company, Square-Enix, has joined with another company known as Nifty, launching a series of casual games with in-game adds. Nifty is simply using Square Enix's game development resources and experience. Will these adds play a role in the future of gaming? The way it works is that while you're level is loading, an advertisement appears, making it unable to be closed. These casual games can be played at Nifty's home site. Let us hope that we won't have to to deal with advertising in future games!
On another note, Square-Enix's president,Yoichi Wada, seems to be disagreeing with the way the PS3 is being marketed. Could this somehow prevent future Square-Enix games from coming out on the PS3? Wada says, "Sony first unveiled the PS3 as a mighty home electronics product. Then, after some badgering from game companies, it shifted the position of the console closer to a game machine. (The future of the PS3) would be tough if its marketing strategy is not straightened up," Who knows what will happen from here. Let's hope that Sony pays heed to Yoichi Wada's words of advice.
