Joint Struggles takes place in the Mirage Arena, a new area "outside of reality" where characters can participate in multiplayer battles using a wireless LAN. It is available from the start of the game. Characters of the same type can gather and fight new enemies under special rules. Items and bonuses are shared between single player and multiplayer modes. Terra, Aqua, and Ventus wear their armor from the Kingdom Hearts II Final Mix+ secret ending. The different colored symbols next to the HP-bar determine competition rankings. There are currently no plans for downloadable content, but the system contains so much depth that it is hardly necessary. Special rules and restrictions will make the game an entirely different experience each time, and players will never find themselves bored of the furious action. Moogles play a role in obtaining new items for customization. When playing with friends, people playing as Ventus can D-link and make use of Terra's power. A long form of Shoot Lock with a brand new extension is available in multiplayer, along with many unique Deck Commands:
