Kingdom Hearts coded isn't the only "Kingdom" fun that a gamer can experience on their Japanese phone. For the players who enjoy using a controllable avatar, Kingdom Hearts Mobile is a blessing. Although Mobile doesn't contribute to the development of the main plot like coded, it offers many things to do.
-Avatars and Items-
In Mobile, a player is allowed to operate his own customizable avatar. Like Nomura himself said, "one avatar [may have] the head of Sora and the body of Riku, and vice versa." Many opportunities are awarded to a player to receive accessories for their avatar. These chances come in the form of mini-games and accessory shops scattered within explorable areas. With these accessories, a player can control however their avatar appears to fellow players.
-Avatar Kingdom-
With an avatar, one may explore the array of areas that Avatar Kingdom has to offer! Avatar Kingdom is the title given to the overall consensus of all the areas to explore within Mobile; this includes a special area which will launch Kingdom Hearts coded on a player's phone. There is an event hall where a user can connect with people on their Avatar Kingdom friends list. Another place to contact friends is the VNet Room. Here, a player can send messages to their friends and they may also customize their viewable profile page.
Concerning munny, there is a point bank that allows the player to keep track of how much munny they have earned. There are multiple shops around the Kingdom that a user can spend their hard-earned munny in. An item shop is where munny can be spent on accessories for a user's individual avatar. In case the player wants to change the way their avatar looks with newly acquired accessories, there is a changing area available. The mini game shop is a location where mini games can be purchased. These mini games unlock rare accessories that one would not normally find in the item shop. A point melody shop is where one can purchase ringtones from Kingdom Hearts, Kingdom Hearts II, and Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix+. The art gallery is another area where there are purchasable wallpapers and icons for your phone.
In case a user has any questions about Avatar Kingdom then they can always head over to the Info Center where it will explain Mobile's features.
-Mini Games-
Card Struggle - This mini-game is the Kingdom Hearts version of Spider Solitaire. A player must arrange all the cards, in the same suit, from King to Ace. As the game progresses and more suits appear, the game becomes harder. Pair Card Battle - In this mini-game the objective is to match Heartless cards together as fast as one can. Here, there is an HP and Drive Gauge at the top of the screen that will monitor your progress. If a player matches two cards incorrectly, then their HP will decrease. If the pair of cards is matched correctly, then the drive meter will fill itself. Balloon Glider - This mini-game originated from Kingdom Hearts Re: Chain of Memories and is back with graphics that resemble the original Kingdom Hearts Chain of Memories for the Gameboy Advance. Although it is the same objective, there are some new factors coming into play. For instance, Owl will fly with large Hunny Orbs which will help Sora and Pooh as they ascend the Hunny Tree. Piglet carries more balloons for Sora and Pooh in case some have been popped. Balloons are popped by buzzing bees and Tigger who's bouncing is an obstacle to avoid. Gummi Ship Studio - The main goal of this mini game is to have Sora remove groups of Gummi Blocks that are characterized by color. The gameplay is very similar to Bejeweled in which removing blocks will cause more to fall in. Any Gummi Blocks left behind will cause a player to lose the game. Card Struggle II - Although it appears to be a sequel to a previously mentioned mini-game, it isn't the same game. Here, Sora has three opponents from a certain world. All players group together same numbered cards and pile them in the center. An opponent can place down a number card higher than Sora's or they may pass. Whether the player likes it or not, Sora always begins the round. Moogles are equivalent to Joker cards in this game, and here they are considered a wild card that may be paired to any number. Magical Canvas - A game that requires that the player find out what a hidden letter is by filling in or crossing out squares. Numbers located on the sides of the canvas grid assist in determining how many squares still need to be filled in on a certain line. Rhythm Parade - A rhythm action game set to various catchy tunes from the Kingdom Hearts series. Recognizable characters appear on-screen during this game. |
