We have just about a week to go before E3 2016, and teases for potential reveals are going full steam ahead. Kingdom Hearts Unchained X is certainly no different.
KHUX_PR, which posts news and updates for the Japanese version of Unchained X, just revealed an image of this mystery medal. If the number of followers for that Twitter account and retweets on that post are able to meet a 10,000 quota by June 7, all players will be receiving the medal!

It doesn't look quite the same... the silhouette's keychain looks like the Master Keeper's, since it's pointed rather than round. Aqua's scarf-things seem to be in different positions as well.
It's definitely based on the art, though.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but I am pretty sure the Japanese version already has a medal with that artwork. Also, there are differences in the silhouette of the new one that makes it seem like it might be a 3D model with the keyblade that belonged to Eraqus.

In 2 and a half hours it will be 06/07 in JP so I guess we'll see.
It's not a real medal, it's never going to be shown, this was all a ruse to see how many KH fans are dopes. I don't think a study was necessary to figure out that there's a sucker born everyday, and that they all grow up to be KH fans

I know what it says, I can read Japanese. The thing is, that clearly being a medal and the RT thing ending tomorrow, it would make sense for them to just give it to all players to make them look forward to a new 2.8 trailer or something.

It wouldn't matter for me. We'll see it regardless of what comes first. And there's so much more in the trailer than just Aqua that I'd rather her get her shining moment first.
I'm stupid and didn't realize that this was Aqua at first (but you guys are obviously so right about that). Mainly because I did kind of suspect it, but then I thought that would be too easy and that we already had a medal like that.
For whatever reason 0.2 completely slipped my mind, and the fact that this is most likely a new render of her in the Unreal Engine.
Instead I was thinking it was Ephemera (because I saw a piece of fabric around the person's neck, which made me think of his scarf), but that wouldn't have made sense because he's not in "the future" for the players to draw power from... that we know of.
And then I thought that maybe this was somehow Riku in his new design for KHIII. LOL.
Which, I'm not gonna lie: after thinking that, knowing that it's just Aqua in an old pose and old outfit now--but in new graphics, true--is just the smallest bit disappointing.
I want to see a better Riku model than the one we got at Jump Festa/D23, maybe with a new outfit and a slightly older looking model (though I totally jumped the gun on thinking that, I know. -blames the fact that i was in the "new looks for everybody?" thread yesterday and that got me thinking things like this-).
But I really am happy for the Aqua medal (and that we'll probably even get to see her new look before E3 now). Don't get me wrong.
In fact, thank you so much for this, SE! Thank you so much! You haven't exactly been transparent about KH like you said you were going to be, but this more than makes up for it imo!^_^

E3 is closing in, the medal is an obvious silhouette of aqua in KH3 tech (her hair is more detailed than her bbs model and we already have an illustrated version of her), and the RT campaign had a very short deadline.

Even Sony is doing it, what with Horizon Zero Dawn getting it's release date, trailer, and collector's edition revealed ahead of the event.

Square Enix doesn't have an event this year because they didn't have a bunch of games to announce. This year is just showcasing and a select few announcements. Stuff that doesn't warrant a conference.

Yeah, something is definitely wonky with Aqua's face. That was the first thing I noticed about it. I mean, overall, it looks nice, but that really throws it off for me.

After comparing the image with the trailer I think they did use the same model, I think the problem lies solely with how her hair falls and how she's trying to emulate the fish face in the Unreal 4 engine. Just awful.
Am I the only one that doesn't think it looks that bad? Don't get me wrong, the face could be a lot better and it wasn't what I was expecting after watching that trailer, but its still a pretty nice medal in my opinion. What i'm wondering is what is the medal's special and how will America (and soon Europe) be able to get it.
Its why I don't like 3d rendering. It always looks ugly. But I will take the medal as long as its easy to get from the event, and they hopefully won't make people fight 120+ enemies for no reason. Since I never was able to get the original Illustrated medal I won't mind having this version. I wonder if it'll have the same stats and attack??
Also, looks like we got to wait until Morning in Japan in order for the event to happen. Since it's 37 minutes past midnight over there.

It could be place holder, I would probably prefer they take the 0.2 part of the cover artwork so it matches with the rest of the series.

Why would people be saying that it isn't fair? I believe the game will also be launching in European countries tonight as well, so everyone should be getting the Aqua metal.

Very glad we get that Aqua medal. Whether or not it's very powerful or useful remains to be seen, but I'll just be happy to add it to the collection.
My only magic medals are leon, KH2 mickey, jiminy, olette, and Vivi.....I'm in dire need of a good magic medal and it sounds like they may of answered my prayers.
