Exciting news for us KINGDOM HEARTS fans! KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX is now available for pre-order across all America and Europe, so what are we all waiting for?
For a limited time, preordering the game will come with a special 24-page artbook to commemorate the release of this HD remaster collection.
This HD remaster will include for the first time in outside of Japan KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories which was previously only released in Japan and North America, and KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 Days remastered as HD cinematics. The entire collection contains trophies, updated graphics, updated gameplay, and remastered music by series composer Yoko Shimomura.
KINGDOM HEARTS HD 1.5 ReMIX will launch across North America on September 10th, September 13th for Europe and September 12th for PAL.
If you wish to learn more about where to pre-order the game, check out the official KINGDOM HEARTS website. However, if you wish to grab a Limited Edition copy, you should hurry up since it's apparently VERY limited.
Edit: Thanks to Taochan we've learned that there is indeed a difference with the standard bilingual edition and limited edition orders at Gamestop Canada. For all those who wish to receive the preorder bonus concept artbook, you will need to select the limited edition. If you placed your order prior to this announcement and want the bonus, you will need to cancel and change your order as soon as possible.

Don't worry. December 31st is usually place-holder date until they know the real date. They will most likely update it with the correct September dates shortly.

I hope the artbook comes to the UK as well (preferably Amazon.co.uk). They say it will be released in PAL territories as well but I see no sign of that for the time being.

If only. xD After how well they pushed KH3D Mark of Mastery Edition units by printing so few, I'm betting they will keep the trend here as well. But then who knows...Maybe SE is just exaggerating and release date GS will have more artbooks than games. With KH3D, though, I would stick to thinking that when they say "limited" they mean it xD

Have we seen that artwork with the 3 on top of each other before (Sora, Donald, Goofy)? It's beautiful, especially in high-res.

Wow, putting the cards as page numbers directly over the artworks is a horrible idea, but because the book will most likely not contain more than 20 pages with the artworks seen already elsewhere, it's just a minor annoyance.
That being said, I'm waiting for a full-blown Kingdom Hearts Artbook for ages, especially since the Complete Visual Art Book was never released.

There are no words happy enough to relate my joy for this. OMG! I've been hoping something like this would happen for such a long time now. Bravo, Square! Thank you for listening, and not just giving us more stickers (though I do love the stickers, of course).
Eep! This is so exciting! Now I can fawn over an art book other than my Puella Magi Madoka Magica one. And me hopes this has the concept art of Sora choking on the chicken leg or whatever. I love that image of the trio! I mean, it probably won't be in here in truth, but a girl can dream.
I wonder what they might end up doing for II.5 now... Do you think they'll keep up the trend and have another art book, or maybe something even bigger and crazier, seeing as it'll have more plot heavy games in it than I.5 did (being BbSFM and KHIIFM, of course)... Perhaps I'm just over thinking this, but once again, a girl can dream.

THEY BETTER DO AN ARTBOOK. There is a lot of gorgeous storyboard art Nomura did for BBS that deserves appreciation xD And Nomura's sketches and the cute everything. *spaz*

I want to make a note that the artbook pictured is CLEARLY a mock-up and will not be an accurate representation of the final product.
(If they use CoM cards for page numbers and not a classier silhouette I will forever judge Square Enix & Disney and their choices in life. I'd seriously doubt Nomura or any supervising Japanese staff member would let this pass xD)
That said I hope the binding can handle general wear.

It is DEFINITELY the nicest preorder yet. So far, we've gotten 2 sets of postcards, 1 slip case, 1 PSP skin that was supposed to make up for an LE handheld, and a set of AR cards you can scan online. Nothing mentioned above compares to an artbook, even if the artbook is only 10 pages imo ^_^
Oh, gosh! I wonder what they might do for the long awaited KHIII -floats on a happy cloud, upon thinking of all the possibilities-
As for KH3, I would definitely expect a CE of all CE's, considering it has been 10 years and we're still in one saga, this CE spans over a decade of beautiful KH merchandise. I think SE should definitely start the CE by including a Play Arts figure like they did for Tomb Raider and MGS :)

It has less than 20 pages and none of the art can't be found in the guide :( While I doubt SE would make an artbook THAT bad again, I wouldn't raise my hopes up too high for a free preorder artbook.
P.S. So this artbook is the preorder gift, right? So if I preorder the game itself at GameStop I'm guaranteed the artbook? The reason I wonder is because I called my Gamestop and I didn't know exactly whether to ask if this was a limited edition kind of KH in their computer. I just want to make sure I preorder the RIGHT version ;)

I mean, sure, if you're going by school schedules, then sure this could count as Fall. But remember Birth by Sleep? That came out September 7th and they advertised that as being a Summer release date. Granted, everyone whined and said Square Enix lied to them but it WAS technically a summer release date.
I'm not complaining or anything. If a game can come out sooner and not have a negative effect on it, then sure, it'd be nice to have it sooner. I just think it is slightly inconsistent on their part.

Next time someone sees Raio Mitsuno in person, can you please mention to him that SE should release a humongous KH3 Collector's Edition in the US. Raio is the one who decided what to put in the DDD MoM edition and I assume if there are any collector's editions down the road, he'll put the idea together before getting the okay from higher up.

You are guaranteed the artbook, assuming nothing unfortunate happens at your local Gamestop. Though, judging by responses on both KHI and others, I don't believe the preorder bonus has been entered into their system yet.

Raio is not brand manager anymore. He left Square Enix not long after KH3D was released.

Yeah for something like this gamestop will just add a couple space on the game's page that shows it has preorder bonus, and also add bonus included under the game title and publisher on the search list.

All of the artwork we've already seen for those three games probably amounts to 24 pages, haha.
In all seriousness, I suppose that if the book had anymore content, considering we are getting 24 pages worth for free with the preorder, they might as well just sell it individually.

Remember this game is already $39.99. This is really cheap per SCEA's pricing standard for HD Remasters. They wouldn't have room in their budget to make a $100+ page artbook.

Actually it doesn't.
My guess is that it's some sort of stripped-down edition of the Visual Art Collection with almost all world art left out and some promotional art for Re:CoM and 358/2 Days. Maybe there will be all sorts of known renders too (like in the BBS art book) instead of character art, a nice thing to have but certainly no big deal.
Maybe we get a translated version of "Another Report" for the 2.5 HD ReMix, that would be cool.

I'm surprised anyone is complaining considering this is a free pre-order bonus, and is a nicer pre-order bonus than anything we've gotten with any other KH game. I'm personally really grateful and happy for this; I'm hoping it's a trend and we continue to get nicer bonuses with KH games. :3

This doesn't have anything to do with the current discussion, but Days was originally intended to be remade and playable for 1.5. They decided against it because well, at the end of the day if you're going to put forth so many resources, money and manpower, you might as well just make a new game altogether. It's one of their top selling games on the NDS and there's no need to remake Days again for the 3DS when you can just as easily play the original version on it.

If they skip over the character renders (which they should) then they will have enough space to have the colored keyart, the storyboards, and concept art.

24 pages seems just fine to me for a pre-order bonus. I'm not paying anything extra for it.
It's not like in the case of MGS HD's 250 paged artbook where you paid 30 extra dollars for the LE that had it.

We wouldn't get the soundtrack together with the game without paying more. Another case? Maybe. But I don't think that'll be the case here. An extra PS3 theme? We already get 3 (or 4?) themes in the game itself, I don't see the point in having another one as an extra. Psn avatars as pre-order bonus are pretty lame. I can see why some people want it but yeah, to me that's pretty darn lame.
All in all, I think we can already be very happy with a gorgeous artbook as a pre-order bonus!

Without any news its hard to stay excited. I think finally my hype will rise again as the day gets closer to its release. I think they were accepting preorders but no the release date in their system was still TBA.

Really? If this is true... Why do i have to live in Australia where everything electronicly is so dear. Massive jump considering most of the world pays $39.99. The ratchet and clack trilogy HD remaster was only $50 can't they lower it a bit, i mean come on, i know stuff is dearer here but charging more than double the price?! Ridiculous! The ONLY reason i am not buying from JB is that artbook. Everything is sold 30% cheaper at JB, well most things. Hopefully they will match the price.

Yeah, EB Games have had it at $88 for a while now. Heck, this is how my town's EB has been justifying the price: "Yep... It has basically all the games in it though"
Ozgameshops price is definitely the better one. Certainly purchasing it off there once I acquire the funds.

It was already answered. I just felt the need to clarify that all of the information you would need answered is in the OP to limit the repetition of a question that should not have to be asked if one were to read the OP.
No, the same product that they have in the computer. They just have to update the information. The Limited Edition is the pre-order and the Standard when they run out of artbooks. Does that make sense?

I agree, plus, if they do plan on releasing a huge artbook, they'll either release one in a Collector's Edition for KH3 OR they'll release a really huge one to coincide with KH3's release that is separate from KH3. That artbook would consist of all the art from over all the games in the Seeker of Darkness Chronicles. Why would they make such a big artbook then if more than half the art has already been released as a free preorder bonus?

Wow, putting the cards as page numbers directly over the artworks is a horrible idea, but because the book will most likely not contain more than 20 pages with the artworks seen already elsewhere, it's just a minor annoyance.
That being said, I'm waiting for a full-blown Kingdom Hearts Artbook for ages, especially since the Complete Visual Art Book was never released.

Limited can mean 125,000-as demonstrated by the Walt Disney Treasures DVDs, which gives most of us who preorder early ample opportunity to get one. I probably wont be disappointed, since a lot of this art(including some that people already mentioned) is either uncommon/hard to find or I havent seen it. Plus, naturally, the page count will be low simply because preorder bonuses are usually lightweight.......literally.

I don't think it will be a separate SKU since it just a preorder bonus not a separate Special Edition (or if it consider a limited edition then it would be something like Shin Megami Tensei 4 or Beyond Two Souls, where the regular edition is basically upgraded into a SE for preorders). Gamestop has updated the game's page already to show it has a preorder bonus.

I think their system just hasn't updated to show that there is a pre-order bonus yet. So, if you want to be 100% safe you can order your copy off of Amazon which shows the pre-order but I think you'll be fine with Gamestop. I would just call them a few days after you pre-order and nag them to see if their system shows the bonus yet. I mean, it is May and the game isn't coming out until September so it's not very unusual.

Don't worry you are guaranteed, the amount of pre order bonus art books that they receive is based off how many people preorder. And yeah you will for sure because you reserved a copy so early.

Yeah this was the same thing I posted about a few pages ago. Someone mentioned their systems might not have been updated at that point, but the preorder bonus was on their website the same day the guy couldn't find any information about it, so that stumped me.
Gonna stop by tomorrow and make sure everything's all set with them.

I love those storyboards! It's interesting to note a few things like the generic keyblade design, Sora's slightly more expressive face, the inconsistent aspect ratios, interesting layout. It's really nice!
On another note, and this goes for the concept art book as well, id like to see the notes translated.

Then four minutes later, they sent another email saying it had been shipped as well as a photo of my package with my address label already on it :) Of course it arrived the next day.

I agree with Yessir_23, I use them all the time and in my opinion they are the best place to order your games. Every game I've pre-ordered with them has arrived a few days before its release date and anything that is already out comes the next day. I ordered a PS move charge yesterday and it came today. They are amazing and I have nothing bad to say about them.

Good, I was starting to get worried. Scratch that whole friday the 13th plan, Thursday it is! Work on Friday though most likely gonna go to work drowsy as hell because I didn't get any sleep.
Slightly more satisfied that is comes out 1 day earlier (could see it coming anyway) but Friday for Australia would have been good as well. Working as an electrician sucks when you have no sleep, at least with uni or collage you can sleep in class and catch up notes the next day.

I know, right? It's sad considering that the BBS and coded storyboards (only other ones we've ever gotten) aren't as in good quality in comparison. Hopefully they'll include them again and many more with 2.5!

I'm betting roughly 80-90% of the artwork included in the 1.5 preorder has been released through the Ultimanias. That's part of the reason why some of us are a little antsy about it, considering that we've already seen them. I've pointed out a few times in this thread that there are some new pieces of artwork as shown in the promotional image though. If you missed it, they are the train at the top left of the logo and blindfolded Riku at the bottom.
In their defense however, the Ultimanias were Japanese exclusive. In a world without imports and the internet, technically all of the artwork would be new to us.

Same here. Though from a fan standpoint, Id rather have one the size of the Assassins creed art book, or the FF XIII-2 strategy guide.

Man, I love all of those summon storyboards! I remember them from the KH Final Mix Ultimania I got forever ago at a convention, but it got water damaged and I had to toss it. The world train that is on the preorder banner was in it along with some other wicked funky 30s inspired material. I hope they include that, and pretty much any other pencil/concept art from Days and CoM. *do wants Nomura's sketch of KH-ified Rikku from FFX*

amazon.de lists two versions of the game: the limited edition one that comes with the game and the artbook in a box and the standard edition with just the game for a cheaper price. This could always be a mistake on their side, but I doubt it seeing that even the French SE-Shop has two seperate versions of the game (LE l Standard Edition). So maybe SEs reveal posts weren't worded that awkwardly and there really are two seperate versions in Europe? :/

It is the same with EB Games Canada, but the game is the same price in NA. These are priced different, though. We'll try and get some clarification because from what I've heard the editions were the same in all regions.
Edit: Okay I just checked the sites on my own. Half of Europe has just the one order link with the pre-order bonus thing then Italy, France, and Germany have two product listings and one of them is a higher price. I'll ask around right now.

Yes, they pulling the same stunt as with BBS, instead of a pre-order bonus there is a limited edition for an higher price (5 euros) which contains the art book (but unlike BBS no special packaging or postcards). SEEU also stealth updated the blog post accordingly.
I wouldn't call it a rip-off but it's definitely not as nice thing to do, especially since it's basically free for US customers.

Do you live in North America? If you do, and there was only one listing for 1.5 you should be getting the artbook. Some GameStops/EBGames don't have the pre-order in their system yet.
