This is the date you have all been waiting for! KINGDOM HEARTS 1.5 HD ReMIX will be releasing March 14th 2013 in Japan!
The official website has also been updated with a new layout, a timeline of the series, and summaries of KINGDOM HEARTS FINAL MIX, KINGDOM HEARTS Re:Chain of Memories, and KINGDOM HEARTS 358/2 DAYS.
KINGDOM HEARTS 1.5 HD ReMIX will cost 6980 Yen ($83 USD) and first edition copies of the game will contain a serial code for a special item in KINGDOM HEARTS PC Browser.

Actually, they don't have everything localized. They need to record lines for the newly voiced scenes in the Days reconstruction. They do at least have the dialogue translated and everything though, so I assume that would make it faster?

Near the bottom it has three boxes. One says HD 1.5 ReMIX and above it is some text that says "CHECK" at the end. The other two boxes say "Coming Soon". Maybe we're going to hear about the next collection(s) sooner than we thought?

I was really hoping for January or February release... March in Japan isn't great for America. Hopefully they release simultaneously, or at least close to it, as they have almost everything localized and recording voice acting doesn't take but only a few days.

They are really not showing much of Days are they? They could have screens from the original game(the actual cutscenes ones) but they just keep reusing the ones from the trailer.

I don't think conversion works like that. This is the Japanese Yen price compared to the value of the US Dollar right now.
If and when this hits NA shores, this will probably be at the retail price suited for HD collections, which is usually $39.99.

I'm expecting it to be where the average for most of the games in Australia. $47.

When highlighting over the individual games it shows their original boxart and logo. But when not, it shows the 1.5 logo and the art with SDG with the throne. It's an old piece, but maybe it will be used as the boxart?
As much as I love that artwork, I hope it isn't the box art. I was kind of hoping for something new.

I gotta admit, it would be a little disappointing if that's the box art. It's not a deal breaker or anything but I'm hoping for new artz.
Also, in the time line CoM is overlapping with Days but the end of KH1 isn't overlapping with Days. Nutty time line is nutty lol.

wow!! maybe it could be after you guys pointed that out, i didn't even notice the space for the gold text, maybe it will. completely changed my mind. now i don't know what to think. could just be cut scenes. i just want a u.s release date and whats gonna be on the 2nd collection. i want bbs the most. i can live without ddd on there not saying its bad or anything i loved it! I'm just happy with the 3ds version. kh2 is a must and most important though.

It'll be approximately 2-3 hours or more worth of cutscenes, yes. They didn't have time to remake the whole thing so they're doing it that way. Re:MIX is all but confirmed with an international release date. 3D's secret ending pretty much confirms that it's intended to go international.

Secret Message
During the credits, Sora will Dive through them, earning points for each name you tag. Gold letters will appear often throughout the sequence, and if you manage to tag all of them, you will unlock the Secret Message in the journal.

That was it. It wasn't confirming KH3, it was hinting at Re:MIX. It's taken to mean that Re:MIX will release internationally because they kept that secret message in the international release of 3D that would otherwise mean nothing if it were Japan only.
Well the whole Sora and Riku into the light thing was a nod to KH3, but the secret message you find in the Reports is the hint for the HD Remaster.
The release date is fantastic! I have no doubts about seeing a localized version within the year.

I'd imagine it would have to be cutscenes. The 3D battle system would require a lot of tinkering/changing for it to play well on the PS3.

So when 2.5 is eventually announced (We all know something like that will come sooner or later), does anyone want them to go through and fix some of the errors in KH2? At least some of the glaring ones, like "Tell me why HE picked you." It shouldn't be that hard, seeing as McCartney should already be doing new voice work anyway for Days

I hope so though I think it might depend if they're redoing the voice acting to even bother. But then again looking over the script to look for inconsistencies is probably too much work.

technically the only nut there is that Days should start before COM. Days, except for two scenes, starts right after KH1(or it might as well, there could've been as little as a day or two between Xemnas and Ansem fighting)

Actually Days starts the moment Sora becomes a Heartless in Hollow Bastion.
no im not counting that because the actual game itself starts at Day 7. Roxas' birth is one of the cutscenes I was referring to. That and him talking with Xemnas on Day 6. meaning 5 or 6 days between Sora becoming a heartless and battling xemnas, leaving the End battles of KH1 to just a few hours, or at least under 24(Xemnas is unlocked at least midway through EotW)
It's only a matter of time before they start announcing Japan only special/collectors editions. /le sob

Right now Square Enix's confirmed titles for NA in 2013 is a little barren. In March there is Tomb Raider and then we have Final Fantasy XIV listed as Q1 2013, which is the period from April-June. After that LR as Q3 which is October-December.
I think KH will probably be April-June as well, I'm just hoping it will be early in that period and note late. :(

I didn't realize how little they have planned for next year until now. I'm hoping they unveil some unannounced and nearly completed titles soon...Besides their endless iOS ports [ifthisgetsabusedagainisweartogod]and mobile "tap to win" shovelware[/ifthisgetsabusedagainisweartogod].

Most of it is already localised, so if the NA team for this game are quick, or there's not much new to localise, we should hopefully be seeing it soon afterwards.

What? Why? BBS on a PS3 disc by itself would be pretty damn empty considering the length of that particular installment. Separating that game knowing well it could fit with the remaining installments on single disc doesn't make much sense. BBS is indeed likely to appear in 2.5 in the future, I dare say it's almost guaranteed.
also a lot of people would skip it and at this point it's the 2nd or 3rd most important game in the series. chronologically it's first, but in terms of relevance of those specific story elements it's one of the latest.

On the plus side, I find Kingdom Hearts quite cheesy as it is (except BbS which is Mr. Manly McManlison among the KH games) so the titles are quite appropriate if you ask me = D

I took the Ven/Sora vanishing thing as symbolism and not something literally happening.

Aqua's time in the RoD is, as far as we know, not very relevant to the current story. So why not make it relevant to the next saga? Keep her time there a mystery for now and keep on with KH3. Nomura's good at making excuses when it comes to characters not mentioning things, so he could probably come up with a reason why she doesn't talk about the events in KH3. :3

lol as much as I would love that, I would hate the Aqua part to be demoted to a tutorial -__- I'm okay with beating the game and then just unlocking this random part where you get to play as Aqua.

This concept is the small hope I've been holding onto for this game to somehow exist in the future.
Another collection would hopefully include BBS and KH2 and a theatre mode for Re:coded and DDD. There's like only one or two cutscenes of importance in the former title. No reason not to include them. And I agree that BBS belongs in the second collection despite being a prequel. It's not meant to be played as the first game, just like you're not meant to play Crisis Core before you play FFVII.
Nah I would rather have BBSFM, KH2FM, RE:coded movie and a short movie on BBSv2. DDD can stay a 3DS game for all I care.

If the game doesn't have the Nintendo Network logo on it, it's not going to get DLC ever.
They have no plans of making KH3DFM. They don't have time to do it, and considering the sales of KH3D were not amazing in Japan, there is a clear disinterest in it.
DDD will probably be in 2.5 in some way, shape or form. It would be stupid to start putting all the games on one console and leave out the one that "leads to Kingdom Hearts III" Probably a movie like 358 along with Re:Coded.
Hm the release date is a bit later than I thought it would be, but oh well I am happy with March.

haha I like those outfits, but I prefer the ones we have now more :) I think the idea of alternate costumes for DLC is funny, I'd like if SE did that, but as seen with FFXIII-2, SE charges really steep prices on their alternate costumes. I'd love to see a old theme like this where the costumes look more like historical periods.

I would like to have Disney inspired outfits like the Tron or Stemboat Willie costumes, but in all worlds instead of just one. I would definitely buy them all, but like any alternate costumes in any game, I usually stick to the main one, even if I have multiple ones lol xP
I'd be totally down for costumes if it didn't cost an arm and a leg to get them.

How would you guys feel about costumes based off of other games? Like how FFXIII-2 had AC costume (but that wouldn't work for KH imo), I'm not too sure what games they could use honestly.
Also, I just realized, if they included episodes after the fact...who's to say we wouldn't get DLC of Aqua's time in the RoD, and maybe all the clues we were supposed to get in a certain BbSv2???

New world specific outfits like one for Olympus Coliseum where Sora has an outfit similar to Zack's. Because seeing him in a "skirt" in worth it!

which is why it's sad. It's one thing when it's an extra or alternate episode, but what they did with Lightning's chapter in XIII-2 was just not a good idea. Still, cant fight the deadlines so at some DLC is inevitable.

I completely agree...either that or it be free, or perhaps something like Playstation All-Stars Battle Royale is doing where the DLC is free for the first 2 weeks of its release and then becomes charged after that. However, they did it with FFXIII-2 so I do expect it in KH3 :( I almost feel it is inevitable so I'll just go along with it >_<

I also hope KH3 doesn't have it, but I see it being very possible considering it would be exactly like in FFXIII-2 where you would play as a characters other than the main one (AKA Sora) so it would need to be based off of your current record. I can see it fitting in exactly like it did in FFXIII-2, but I still hope it doesn't happen (I know...like you said, fighting the inevitable).
Well XIII-2 was a bit of an experiment with DLC. I wouldn't expect it to be the norm for SE. LRFF won't have any story DLC, but then again I don't see the main XIII games as a representation of SE's business typical business practices rofl

I noticed that the pattern tends to be that once the Japanese version has been out for at least a week, the other regions start to get announced.
Also, a 10 year old game remastered and now getting DLC........? What? o_0
yeah, it's just no likely. We did some speculation for KH3, though.
