An illusion formed from data, this digitized version of Roxas, Sora's Nobody, spurs Data Sora on a journey through Castle Oblivion in order to find the the true meaning behind the message ‘We must free them of their torment'. His intentions are vague, but it involves forcing Data Sora to meet mirages of friends both old and new, and through Data Sora's inability to retain memories of them yet feel the guilt of forgetting, plant seeds of pain in the Keyblade wielder's heart, bringing it one step closer to darkness. His jeers, criticism of Data Sora's friendly nature towards total strangers and attempts to convince our hero to erase his pain are to no avail, however, as Data Sora is determined to embrace both pain and the memories that come with it. In a final clash against Data Sora, it is revealed that Data Roxas has been designed with one sole purpose: To test Sora and prove that he is ready to accept the inevitable pain which would come with his next adventure. Deeming him worthy, Data Roxas leads him to the truth, before returning to the one place he truly belongs: Sora. His legacy lives on in his memories of his summer vacation, which now resides in Sora's heart. |
