Cursed into monstrosity due to his selfish nature as a human prince, Beast's lonely and bitter heart is healed by Belle's love for him, but opening his heart also makes him vulnerable to pain when Belle is kidnapped by Maleficent, and later when she cruelly rejects his affections despite him risking everything to save her. Such is his faith in their love that he is willing to rescue Belle against her will, but this profession of his feelings for her leads to Belle's sacrifice. He joins forces with Sora, Donald and Goofy to defeat Maleficent, and is eventually reunited with Belle. |
